[HPxJJK] - Harry Potter and the Supremacy of Cursed Blood

Chapter 252: Chapter 249 - The Grindelwald Plan (5)

Seeing that he couldn't see anything related to the Goddess Vivian, Asterion let out a disappointed sigh and returned to the surface. The moment his feet touched the grass beside him, Asterion's red eyes fell on the man with long black hair wearing a black Greek toga.

His skin was slightly tanned while his eyes were dark brown, he was handsome at around thirty. a full-blooded Greek in every sense.

"Herpo." Asterion spat out the man's name with a cold, intense stare.

"Lord Black." Herpo greeted the young man cordially while showing his respect. After all, the boy in front of him had done something that many had tried but failed to do. His admiration for the boy was sincere and genuine, devoid of any feelings of animosity.

Herpo's eyes fell on the little fairy on Asterion's shoulder and he smiled amiably at the creature he had previously considered extinct. It was a young fairy, very young by fairy standards, and he could see that the little fairy considered Asterion a friend and even trusted him deeply.

Herpo understood why fairies were extinct on the continents, no intelligent race could relate to human wizards with such confidence. Any race knew how arrogant, cold and crazy humans could be when it came to something that mattered to them.

Morals, character and laws were nothing in the face of supreme interests.

Looking at the lake before him, Herpo's eyes showed a deep look, but that look disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.

"Walk with me, Lord Black." Herpo fixed his eyes on Asterion and spoke in a friendly tone while gesturing gracefully.

Asterion didn't hesitate and walked alongside his enemy, if anyone saw them, they would see the image of friends walking side by side while chatting happily.

But whether it was Asterion or Herpo, they both knew that in a different place and under different circumstances, they would kill each other without any hesitation, trying to end each other's lives.

"I don't see Morgan." Herpo commented, looking around Asterion. In his senses, apart from the Special Grade Cursed Spirit in his shadow, there was no sign of Morgan. A being he wanted to meet in person, after all, it wasn't every day that you saw a prototype God.

Asterion looked at the man acting so friendly and snorted coldly, not bothering to answer his question. Only a fool would flaunt his greatest weapon.

Herpo rolled his eyes and grumbled, calling Asterion petty and uneducated.

Seeing that Asterion had no intention of introducing him to Morgan, Herpo changed the subject, showing a look of admiration for Grindelwald's Plan. "What do you think of Grindelwald's plan?"

Honestly, after he earned Grindelwald's invitation, Herpo didn't hesitate to stop his training and come to Avalon. At the same time, he was still shocked by the audacity of Grindelwald and his clone. What his clone had accomplished over two millennia shocked even him.

Asterion replied after a brief silence. "Honestly, I think the chances of something going wrong are more than 80%."

Herpo nodded, apparently agreeing with Asterion's words. He also saw that apart from the daring plan, the chances of success weren't high to begin with.

But 20% was a shocking percentage for him. Don't say 20%, even 1% he would still risk completing this crazy plan even with a 99% chance of failure.

Luck always favored the bold or it would lead the bold to their deaths.

"We pray to Zeus that everything works out, or a much bigger problem will fall on our heads." Herpo spoke with a smile on his lips. There was no fear in him or any other feeling, if something happened to him, he would only regret that he couldn't fulfill his dream of finding the Root of Magic.

"If you want to pray to someone dead, be my guest, but I only have faith in myself." Asterion replied in a calm, cold tone. He believed in God, but that didn't mean he had faith in God. Believing that he exists and having faith in him are two completely different things.

"In my day you'd be burned alive for heresy." Herpo commented with an amused tone. Asterion was just like him, as confident in himself as he could be. After all, if you don't have confidence in yourself, you'd better not even start doing anything.

Confidence was something fundamental to sustaining one's beliefs, without it people are no different than empty shells without determination, just living for the sake of living.

Asterion fell silent and walked north, Herpo following him with a smile on his face as he began to ask countless questions about modernity.

The journey lasted five hours and Asterion wished he had the old Herpo by his side at this moment, the current one had a big problem, that was extreme curiosity. Just like the phase any baby or child goes through when growing up, always curious about everything and with lots of questions.

But Herpo hadn't grown out of this phase as a child and it has continued to this day, even two thousand years later!

"Can you please shut up and leave me alone for a minute." Asterion, tired of more questions, looked at Herpo and spoke in an incredibly angry tone.

He regretted agreeing to walk with Herpo, he wanted to extract information from the man through conversation, but this soon became impossible with the infinite number of questions the man had.

Herpo looked at Asterion with a regretful look on his face. He had been enjoying the conversation with someone as intelligent and brave as him, but seeing that he had managed to irritate the boy, he shrugged and walked on in silence. For some reason, everyone who talked to him also showed such reactions, although he didn't understand why.

In his eyes, wizards and witches should enter the sea of knowledge without scruples and curiosity was the primordial pillar of erudition, so in his eyes, what he was doing was very normal.

Suddenly, Asterion and Herpo's steps stopped, they both looked ahead and saw a huge pale desert, there was snow everywhere they looked. Mountains loomed in the background like spears piercing the heavens.

"The power of the gods is incredible." Herpo commented with a genuinely amazed tone at the powers of the gods.

"Do you want to know how you become a god, Lord Black?" He looked at Asterion and asked with a smile playing on his lips.

Asterion looked at him in surprise and remained silent. He felt that even if he said yes, Herpo wouldn't answer with the truth. After all, only a fool would say something that could make his enemy stronger.

Perhaps guessing Asterion's thoughts, Herpo continued to smile as he spoke. "In ancient times, the so-called Special Grade was called the demigod and after that level, it was the deity. When the demigod ascended to the throne of God, his Innate Technique would sublimate and become something stronger, intangible and primordial."

"Authority."

"It had many other names, like Priesthood, Laws, Pillar and many other names." Herpo looked at Asterion with an increasingly animated gaze. "But many failed to sublimate their Innate Technique, dying in the process. Perseus, Theseus, Heracles and many other demigods died at this stage."

Asterion couldn't help but be surprised by Herpo's words, although the man didn't say what it took to sublimate the Innate Technique into Authority, the information he earned opened a path for him to move forward.

"You must be confused as to why I'm saying this, just know that it's in my interest to see you try to reach Divinity. If you die in the process, I'll throw a feast worthy of your status and celebrate your death." Herpo spoke, entering the frozen biome while looking back with an amused look.

How could he not have known about the temptation to reach Divinity. It was every demigod's dream, he wanted to see Asterion try and die in the process. Of course, there was a chance that Asterion would actually ascend to Divinity, but the odds were so minuscule that Herpo decided to gamble.

The chance of Asterion dying was over 90%, how could he not take a chance when luck was in his favor with such odds?

Luck favors the bold, that's what he's believed since Ancient Greece.

Besides, he hadn't told him the method of sublimating the Innate Technique, so Asterion's chances of failing were even greater.

Asterion could certainly guess the conspiracy that was going on in Herpo's mind and he had to admit, it was a naked conspiracy, without hiding its purpose.

At the same time, as Herpo had guessed, Asterion really did want to ascend to Divinity after hearing the sublimation of the Innate Technique, but differently from what Herpo had thought.

Asterion wouldn't be using it on himself, but on Morgan!
