HP - Shadow Monarch!

Chapter 143: Chapter 141 - Entering the Castle.

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]

Third Person POV

London.

...

...

Rosária was surprised to see Snape charging toward her with a speed that surpassed any vampire in that forest.

"Is he really human?" she murmured, unable to hide her fascination as she watched him approach. She tried to prepare herself to block the punch he was throwing, using her knowledge of hand-to-hand combat. After all, she was a vampire of the highest noble lineage, Dracula's daughter, and certainly not weak, having lived with her powerful father and sister in physical confrontations.

However, as soon as she defended against Snape's strike, she felt an absurd strength that sent her flying backward. Stunned, she vanished and reappeared in another spot, trying to regain her balance. Her eyes reflected curiosity and surprise.

"To think you have such strength... How is that possible?" she murmured, still almost incredulous.

Snape did not reply and, without hesitation, grabbed his wand, launching a quick attack. Rosária defended herself with her own wand, and the two spells collided in the air, generating an explosion. Before the dust could settle, Snape appeared near her and lunged into close combat.

Rosária, though surprised, had also been trained for this and responded with control to defend herself against Snape. The two began exchanging punches and kicks while simultaneously using their wands, casting spells at close range amidst the physical strikes, all the while having to defend themselves from each other. They constantly teleported, and the area became utter chaos. The vampires observing the battle could hardly believe what they were witnessing: a human fighting on equal footing with Dracula's daughter.

As the two blurred figures flashed here and there, all the vampires could see were glimpses of their rapid exchanges. The bursts of spells and physical blows made the fight intense and unpredictable. The vampires around them, perplexed, tried to discern who was gaining the upper hand, but from their perspective, only seeing movements at incredible speeds, the outcome remained inconclusive.

However, Rosária was the one struggling. Snape was proving stronger than her, and his relentless attacks gave her no room to retreat.

"How could he have grown so much and become so strong in just a few months? If that were the case, I would have lost to him in London..." she murmured to herself, trying to make sense of what was happening. Despite everything, she couldn't fathom how Snape could surpass her, especially in physical strength. His magic was already impressive, but his physical power seemed transcendent.

"You're truly interesting, Snape. Far more impressive than I ever imagined," Rosária admitted, admiration slipping into her voice.

Before she could finish her sentence, Snape found an opening amidst their attacks. When Rosária tried to vanish using her vampiric ability, Snape was faster. He grabbed her hand firmly, interrupting her attempt to distort space, as if pulling her back.

"Ah!" she cried out, surprised. The sound of her voice came out more feminine and high-pitched than she expected, leaving her embarrassed.

Snape seized the moment and hurled her backward. Rosária fell to the ground but tried to strike him with a kick as Snape loomed over her, using her heels as a weapon. Snape dodged and, with precise movement, pinned her to the ground, grabbing her leg with one arm. When she tried to strike him with her other leg, he was quicker, immobilizing her with his knee, pressing that leg to the ground while holding her hand that still clutched her wand, bringing it close to her neck.

Rosária was stunned to realize she was completely immobilized. To make matters worse, her face began to flush intensely as she noticed how Snape was positioned over her.

"What do you think you're doing?! You can't treat a lady like this!" she exclaimed, her tone a mix of embarrassment and irritation.

Snape, still and serious, maintained the pressure, ignoring her protest for a moment. But upon noticing, even he became flustered seeing Rosária in that position, as he held her leg and pressed his knee against the other. She was trapped in a highly compromising position, with Snape effectively "locked" into her, their intimate areas unsettlingly close.

Deciding to end this, he used his magic. Before Rosária could recover from her embarrassment or react, he grabbed his wand with the hand that held her leg and cast a spell. Branches began to grow around her, wrapping her and pulling her upward.

"Ah!" she let out another surprised scream, and soon she was trapped in a tree, with several branches immobilizing her so she couldn't move.

"Well, now I must continue," Severus said simply, with an indifferent tone.

"Hey! You're not going to leave me here trapped! What are you doing?!" Rosária protested immediately, watching Snape walk away and completely ignore her.

"Our fight is over. Now I must move on," he replied, shrugging and starting to walk away.

"Severus Snape! I will not allow you to leave me here like this! This is unacceptable!" Rosária exclaimed in a commanding tone, but Snape continued to ignore her.

Atlas finally appeared at his side, and Severus jumped and landed on its saddle.

"Let's head to the swamp. There's nothing more to do here," he said as Atlas advanced toward the area, following the path to the castle.

"Severus Snape, don't you dare leave me here!" Rosária shouted again, her voice echoing through the forest. Some vampires watching from a distance heard her outcry and, noticing the situation, decided to act.

The vampires quickly advanced to pursue Snape. When Rosária realized what was happening, she frowned and began shouting at them.

"What do you think you're doing, you idiots?! I don't want you going after him! I swear, if you lay a hand on even a single hair on his head, I'll crush you!" Her voice carried an authoritative rage, but the vampires had already taken off, ignoring her orders, and disappeared into the forest heading toward Dracula's castle.

Snape, meanwhile, already knew he needed Atlas to navigate the treacherous terrain. The swamp was full of muddy areas that made movement difficult, but his mount was handling the uneven terrain well.

He looked back and saw the vampires emerging, advancing toward him.

"Alright, if that's how you want it..." he murmured. "You'll have to deal with me."

Sensing the vampires' killing intent, Snape quickly unsheathed his sword for the first time. The blade glowed with a bluish light. The vampires began to run, surrounding Atlas among the trees. When the first vampire got close, Snape acted without hesitation, and the creature's head was severed with a single strike.

The swamp creatures were also observing the chaos unfolding there. Snape continued riding Atlas as more vampires emerged, advancing to encircle him. The situation grew even more complicated when other dark creatures began joining the pursuit. It wasn't long before a true pandemonium erupted, with monsters, vampires, and even skeletal knights appearing to block Snape's path.

Severus looked at the creatures and held his sword firmly, preparing to face them all. A chaotic battle began quickly. He slashed monsters from all sides while Atlas bravely charged forward, striking some with its horns while its armor shielded it from attacks as it carved a path through the swarm of enemies.

Soon, Snape noticed the terrain was becoming more stable. The swamp was firming up, which was a relief. He knew he needed a more favorable battlefield to face so many enemies, and he could do so here.

Once he found a solid area near the castle, Snape simply jumped and stored Atlas back in his magical pouch. Then, he landed from his aerial somersault, sword in hand, as he watched the army of creatures rushing toward him.

He exhaled deeply before charging forward. The first opponent was a skeletal knight, which he easily sliced in half, destroying it thanks to the magical properties of his sword. Without hesitation, Snape continued, taking down three more vampires who didn't even have time to react. Despite their natural resistance to many forms of attack, Snape's magical sword was not something they could withstand. They fell to the ground in agony and soon died.

The vampires, smarter than the skeletal knights and other creatures, began acting more cautiously. Meanwhile, Snape continued cutting down the skeletons that tried to strike him, turning the battle into a true massacre. He teleported strategically, catching vampires off guard before they could launch surprise attacks.

During the combat, additional creatures appeared, including lamias—partially feminine beings with grotesque appearances, massive teeth, and skinless bodies. They tried to attack him, but Snape vanished and reappeared, cutting them down mercilessly along with the skeletons and vampires around him.

The battle continued for some time until finally, the last enemy fell.

"I think it's over..." Snape murmured to himself. He turned his attention to the castle, spotting the wall and the entrance gate. Now, all he needed to do was reach Dracula.

Meanwhile, in the nearby forest, Dracula himself appeared, emerging amidst an explosion of earth as he landed there. He looked around and spotted his daughter trapped in the tree.

"Rosária, what is the meaning of this? I sense a commotion coming from the castle," he said in a severe tone.

"Father..." Rosária murmured, trying to compose herself but unable to complete the sentence.

"What are you hiding, Rosária?" Dracula asked, observing his daughter with a scrutinizing gaze, noticing that she seemed nervous. He did not like what he saw.

"So, Father... Do you remember that boy I mentioned, the one I saw in England?" Rosária began hesitantly. "Well, he showed up here. And if I'm not mistaken, he's after the painting I bought for you..." she murmured, avoiding his gaze, clearly aware of what could happen to Snape—something she didn't want.

"What? That painting? Are you telling me a human has invaded my property and is trying to steal from me? Not even those humans who wanted to kill me a thousand years ago were this shameless!" Dracula replied, narrowing his eyes as he looked into the distance. The sound of more creatures being slain caught his attention.

"Father, you're not thinking of killing him, are you?" Rosária insisted, her voice filled with concern. She knew her father was not the type to forgive intruders.

"What do you expect me to do, Rosária? This boy has invaded my land, is killing my creatures, and is trying to rob me!" he responded again with a dark tone, his gaze fixed on the castle.

"No, Father! You mustn't do that! I forbid it!" she exclaimed, desperate.

Dracula sighed but, with a snap of his fingers, freed Rosária from the branches holding her. She landed softly on the ground and faced him with determination.

"I'm serious, Father. I don't want you to kill him. We can talk," she insisted firmly.

Dracula seemed strangely thoughtful but soon sighed. "Fine, but I want—" He couldn't finish his sentence. His gaze turned back to the castle, and he growled furiously. "He's inside my castle!" Dracula exclaimed, his voice echoing through the forest. In a swift motion, he transformed into a dark shadow and sped toward the castle.

"No, Father!" Rosária shouted, grabbing her wand from the ground. With a red flash, she teleported immediately, determined to stop her father from doing something she didn't want.

She disappeared, chasing after him at high speed.
