Hokage Teacher: With Dimensional Teacter System

Chapter 33: Chapter 34: Did You Add Mushrooms to This Rice?

"Minato, do you smell that?" Kushina, who was preparing dinner, suddenly noticed a very enticing aroma.

"Yeah, it smells like an irresistible fried fragrance." Minato nodded.

"Yes, it's such a tempting smell. How did you manage to make it?" Kushina sniffed the air, feeling quite curious.

She herself was a good cook and had made tempura and other fried dishes, but she had never encountered such an alluring fragrance. Just the smell alone was enough to imagine how perfectly golden and crispy the food must be.

"I can't stand it. I have to go see what's going on," Kushina said as she walked outside.

She sniffed the air and traced the source of the smell, realizing it was coming from the house next door to Minato's.

"Hey, isn't this Ushiha's house? Minato, come here!" Kushina called out to Minato.

If she remembered correctly, this house belonged to the ninja academy teacher, Ushiha Mu Yue.

Though she had only known him for a few days, Mu Yue had already left a strong impression on her. With his similar golden hair and blue eyes to Minato, he was a great speaker and a skilled teacher.

Minato came outside and looked in the direction Kushina pointed to, nodding in acknowledgment. "Yes, that's Ushiha's house."

"Let's go visit him!" Kushina said as she grabbed Minato's arm and knocked on Mu Yue's door.

Mu Yue, who had just placed the shrimp in a bowl, set his chopsticks down and walked to the door to open it.

The moment the door opened, Kushina eagerly asked, "Ushiha, are you making dinner?"

"Sorry to disturb you," Minato added with an apologetic smile as he noticed Mu Yue still wearing his apron.

"No problem. I'm about to eat. You came just in time," Mu Yue replied with a warm smile as he invited them inside.

Kushina followed the enticing smell to the dining table, where she saw the tempura with a golden-brown crust. Her eyes immediately lit up—it was exactly what she had been smelling.

But as she walked into the house, she realized there was also the smell of fried rice in the air.

"Ushiha, I didn't know you were also a hidden master chef. I could smell the tempura all the way from next door," Kushina praised.

"Well, I wouldn't call myself a master chef. Since I'm often alone, I got used to cooking for myself," Mu Yue replied casually as he took out two cups and poured water for Minato and Kushina.

"You two should try it, it's fresh out of the kitchen," Mu Yue offered, setting down two sets of utensils.

"Are you sure? It looks like you haven't eaten yet," Kushina said, eyeing the tempura.

"I was about to eat. Go ahead," Mu Yue said with a smile as he picked up a piece of tempura and put it in his mouth.

"Thanks for this, Ushiha," Minato said.

"I'm digging in," Kushina said with a playful gesture of clasping her hands together before she eagerly picked up a piece of the hot tempura and took a bite.

"Mm!" As soon as she bit through the crispy outer layer, the tender and juicy shrimp inside made Kushina's eyes widen in shock.

What happened next was even more surprising: for a moment, she felt like she was underwater, surrounded by a beautiful, mysterious blue world, and she was a carefree fish, happily swimming through the sea.

"Huh?" Kushina quickly snapped back to reality, wondering if she had been caught in an illusion.

After thinking for a moment, she realized that no one around her had the power to use genjutsu.

"Mu Yue, what did you put in this tempura? Did you add some weird mushrooms?" Kushina asked, confused.

She had heard of ninjas in the summer who went mushroom hunting in the forest, only to end up in the hospital claiming that they had too many branches and leaves on their bodies and needed help trimming them.

"Uh, no, I just did this and that..." Mu Yue quickly gave a brief explanation of how he made the dish.

At that moment, Kushina noticed that Minato hadn't spoken much after taking a bite of the fried rice. She looked at him, only to find that he was staring blankly ahead. She tapped him on the shoulder.

"Minato, are you okay?" Kushina asked.

Minato, who had been deep in thought, answered absently, "I think I just ate some wild vegetables."

"Where are there wild vegetables in this?" Kushina asked, looking at the fried rice. All she could see was egg and some green onions—there were no mushrooms in sight.

"After eating the fried rice, I sort of spaced out and felt like I had turned into a wild chicken living in the forest..." Minato explained.

Kushina looked down at the fried rice. Each grain was plump and golden, almost shimmering with a golden glow.

It wasn't until she noticed the fried rice that she realized it was glowing!

"This is the best fried rice I've ever had," Minato said, shoveling another two scoops into his mouth.

"Is it really that good? You should try the tempura too," Kushina said, still puzzled.

Then Kushina tried the fried rice, and Minato went for the tempura. Both of them couldn't help but look shocked and overjoyed.

"Mu Yue, did you develop some kind of ninjutsu to make food taste better? This is too good!" Kushina joked.

"If you ever open a restaurant, please let me know," Minato said earnestly.

Though Minato wasn't one to care much for material enjoyment, the fried rice and tempura Mu Yue made gave him an experience he'd never had before.

"If you like it, feel free to come over anytime. It gets pretty quiet here," Mu Yue invited with a smile.

"If it's not too much trouble, I'd love to—though I doubt my cooking could ever match yours," Kushina said excitedly at the invitation.

"Well, I'm definitely looking forward to it," Mu Yue replied with a smile.

After seeing them off, Mu Yue thought to himself that his new skill was really powerful. It had almost turned into a full-blown "food-sharing" routine.

Mu Yue then took some books from his second-floor bedroom, planning to slowly reveal his interests to others.

...

After Mu Yue's encouragement and with Asuma setting a good example, Obito became more determined. By Saturday, he had almost completed his chakra control training and was ready to begin training for nature transformation.

The weekend came, and Mu Yue's job as a tutor was back in action.

"You're such a liar!" Asuma scolded Mu Yue.

Last week, he had worked himself to the bone, not wanting to waste the high tutoring fees. He was completely exhausted after each training session.

But when he found out the truth, Asuma was furious with Mu Yue.

"Oh, what did I lie about?" Mu Yue asked, smiling.

"The tutoring fee was supposed to be 2,000 ryo per hour, but you told me it was 25,000 ryo!" Asuma exclaimed in anger.

Seeing that Mu Yue wasn't admitting to anything, Asuma got even angrier.

"Did you actually lose anything? Did you really pay me 25,000 ryo?" Mu Yue asked, pressing further.

"Of course, I—" Asuma started to say something, but then he realized he hadn't actually lost anything.

"See, you didn't lose anything, and you even gained! You thought you paid 250,000 ryo, but in reality, you only spent 16,000 ryo, which means you actually saved 184,000 ryo. You should thank me," Mu Yue quickly explained.

"I saved money?" Asuma said, trying to process the logic.

"Exactly. Now, let's get started with your training," Mu Yue said nonchalantly.

"No, wait. Something is very, very wrong here," Asuma muttered, sensing that something wasn't quite right.
