Cheng Xiao waved at Shen Mu and got in the car, she was wondering why Xu Kai's mother wanted to meet her, although his mother was sweet, when crossed she would even make the devil scared. What would she reply if she ask her why she quit.

"Miss Cheng we have arrived." The driver said when he saw that she was not coming out.

He had been waiting for her to get off since he had arrived.

"Oh sorry. Thank you!" She said and got out.

"Time to face the music." She muttered under her breath.

She walked the short distance and knocked on the door.

"Mrs. Xu is waiting for you in the lounge." The buttler said upon opening the door.

"Thank you!" She replied and walked in.

"Is Mr. Xu here." She asked, she didn't want to run into him now.

Despite having his own house, he would come to the old Xu mansion time to time.

"No miss Cheng both Mr. Xu and Xu junior are not at home." He responded politely.

"Okay thank you." She said and walked in the direction of the lounge.

"Cheng Xiao you're here." Mrs. Xu stood up and welcomed Cheng Xiao with a smile.

"Look how skinny you are, that son of mine has worked you to the bone." She said turned her around to look at her.

"Sit, let me tell the kitchen to prepare more food." She said and rushed to the kitchen.

"Mrs. Xu, I don't think I'll stay for long..." Cheng Xiao tried to stop her in her tracks but she was long gone.

Mrs. Xu send a message to her son indicating that Cheng Xiao was at home, and he should hurry back.

She told the chef to add more food and walked back to where Cheng Xiao was sitting.

"Mrs. Xu I can't stay for dinner." Cheng Xiao tried to refuse.

"You haven't seen me in a long time and it's like you didn't miss me. I missed you that is why I called you as soon as I got back in the country, but it's like you didn't miss me at all." She said wiping a few fake tears.

"Of course I missed you." She said and hugged her.

"I heard that you quit and rushed back." Mrs. Xu said.

"I'm sorry if I worried you." Cheng Xiao said looking down.

"It's fine but why did you quit, I thought you and Xu Kai were on good terms." Mrs. Xu said taking Cheng Xiao's hand into hers.

"We were but it is compilated." Cheng Xiao replied awkwardly.

"Cheng Xiao you are here. Does that mean that, that brat finally found his way back home." Mr. Xu walked in, he was Xu Kai's father.

"No sir, I don't know where he is." She replied politely.

"Aren't you guys always together how can you not know where he is?" He asked.

"Sir some time back I had given in my resignation." She replied

"Well isn't this a party." Xu Kai said walking in.

Cheng Xiao stood up, then remembered to sit.

"I'll be in the study." Mr. Xu said and left the lounge.

"Come with me!" He said.

"I'm not going anywhere with you." She replied.

He walked towards her and grabbed her hand and dragged her behind him.
