Heaven Refining physique

Chapter 6: Might of Heaven Refining Physique

Usually spirit herbs are not directly consumed by cultivators. Although spirit herbs contain qi, which is much purer and less violent than spirit stones, it is still not something human cultivators can consume directly. Of course, if the person is a body cultivator, then they can consume herbs of the same level, but it will still be a waste.

The human body is not made to absorb qi directly from unrefined spirit herbs. A lot of qi dissipates into nature, which decreases the value of the spirit herb.

That is why spirit herbs are mostly used to make pills, which retain their potency to the maximum. If the pill formed is of perfect grade with pill patterns, then it can even absorb qi from nature, increasing its value to be more than 100 percent of what the spirit herb can provide.

Spirit beasts and Demons are different, though. Their bodies are evolved to absorb far more than what humans can absorb from spirit herbs.

If we had to measure on a scale, humans can absorb about only 40% of the total value, while beasts can easily absorb 80 to 90% from directly consuming spirit herbs.

So, pills are the best option for human cultivators. But making pills is very tedious and costly, and success is not always guaranteed.

But what about my body? It's, after all, a celestial-grade physique. Since it can even refine the heavens, wouldn't it be possible for it to refine the spirit herb and absorb 100% of its value?

Even if the herb is only meant to be used by core formation realm cultivators, I have a feeling that I will be able to handle it. In fact, I have a feeling that my body wants to devour this herb the moment I took it out.

Is this instinct the same as the spirit beasts'? They can easily figure out if something is harmful or not for consumption.

If it is, then I have no doubt I can easily refine this herb. But it's better to see if I can refine it in my hands rather than eat it.

Jiang Hao held the herb in his hand and began to concentrate on it, willing to absorb all the qi present in the herb with his hand, but nothing happened.

He tried for half an hour but to no avail.

"Looks like I can only consume it..."

Although it was not much different, he wasn't against consumption, its just that he can't bring himself to consume spirit stones too. If he could refine them through his hands, it would have yielded the best results for him.

Maybe I'm not strong enough to refine them with only hands. After all, I am just at the first stage of qi refinement.

Forget it. There are enough herbs in the ring. I don't have to worry about resources for the time being. Let's see how many stages I can break through.

Jiang Hao held the herb in front of him. It was bigger than what he could eat directly, so he folded it a few times and put it into his mouth. He chewed it for some time and swallowed it.

Its taste wasn't bad; in fact, it was sweet. It was as warm as cooked food. It certainly was a fire-attributed herb.

He prepared himself to wait for some hours until it got refined. After all, even if a person consumes pills, they have to refine them for a few hours to consume them fully.

And if it's not a pill but a herb, then they have to refine it for even more time.

But just as he was thinking about it, he felt his stomach burn. It wasn't truly unbearable, but it was painful nonetheless. Suddenly, he felt a vast amount of qi being absorbed inside his body. He could clearly feel that his cultivation level was rising rapidly.

Not even 10 seconds passed, and he felt that a wall had broken. His strength increased exponentially. He knew that he had broken through to the second stage of qi refinement, and it was still rising.

After 1 minute, the qi inside his stomach began to settle down. His strength had reached the peak of the second stage. Even if he absorbed qi from nature, he would be able to break through in one day.

He was really shocked right now. It had just been a minute, and the whole herb had been refined completely. He had clearly seen that nothing dissipated outside his body, meaning he absorbed 100% of it.

But he was a little disappointed. After all, it was a core formation herb, but he could only break through once. He knew from Hu Tian that he would need a lot of resources, but it really was more than he expected. And the higher he reached, the more resources he would need to break through.

Jiang Hao wasn't entirely wrong in thinking that. If an ordinary qi refinement cultivator had consumed that herb 100%, they could easily break through to stage 7 of qi refinement.

But he isn't ordinary. His physique is special even among celestial physiques. After all, it not only refines the resources to increase his cultivation realm, but it also refines his cultivation realm and body to the extreme.

This is why Jiang Hao broke through only once. This is the meaning of extreme. If something is 99% pure, then to make it 100% pure, one might have to expend more energy than it was used to reach 99%.

That 1% is truly a chasm that is almost impossible to achieve.

In the cultivation world, only celestial physiques can achieve the extreme of any realm.

But this doesn't mean that other cultivators cannot. All they need to do is cultivate a celestial cultivation technique. But can they? Even the top 10 sects of Hu Tian's world don't have complete celestial cultivation techniques.

There might exist some in the upper worlds where they do exist, but Jiang Hao doesn't care about them.

The biggest surprise for him, though, was that his body refined that spirit herb in a minute. He doesn't have to wait for few hours to refine it.

It means if he wants, he can keep consuming the herbs and keep breaking through. But he doesn't want that. A cultivator's strength doesn't only depend on their cultivation realm. It also depends on their experiences.

And experiences can only be gained by fighting. So he intended to fight, and the only thing he could battle with were the beasts present in the depths of the mountains.

Usually, beasts don't come out of the mountains. Their village was safe because of this reason. But he will go there willingly.

"Beasts" is the term used for those creatures who can't cultivate, just like mortals, but they are stronger than mortals.

And the beasts which can cultivate are called spirit beasts.

Spirit beasts don't cultivate qi; they only cultivate bodies. Almost All body cultivation techniques are created by gaining insights from the spirit beasts.

After spirit beasts come the demons. Demons are those spirit beasts that are able to form a blood core inside their bodies. These are also called demon cores and It is similar to the core formation of human cultivators.

At this level, demons can even use qi outside their bodies. This is known as blood qi. Spirit beasts have inherent abilities in their bloodline, and when they become demons, they start awakening them. The higher their realm, the more abilities they would have.

Although this mountain range consists of spirit beasts, he doubted that they were nearby.

He had already learned that the density of spirit qi in any area depends on the availability of spiritual veins. The place where his village is located is definitely very far away from the nearest spiritual vein in the mountains because the spirit qi is really very thin here.

So this place is not very attractive among spirit beasts. If he wants to find any spirit beasts, he has to go deeper into the mountains.

Right now, the sun is about to set, and at night, danger increases in the mountains.

But he had a feeling he could easily survive in these areas. Although the cave is hidden well and he could spend his nights here safely, he doesn't want to do that.

When he completed his refinement, he already felt quite strong. He could feel his senses were on a whole different level. In fact, he had the feeling that his senses were so sharp that they could be compared to a beast's instincts. Some beasts can sense danger when they see something dangerous, and he had the feeling that he could sense that too.

And the only way to find out if it is true or false is to venture out right now.

So he stood up and walked to the entrance of the cave and watched the orange sky emotionally. He entered this cave knowing that he would die here, and in a sense, his past self did die here. Now that he had become a cultivator, only he could decide his limits.

He left the cave and went deeper into the mountains. There were a lot of normal herbs and trees on the mountain, so it was a forest in itself.

The sounds of beasts were heard by him occasionally. Some were far, while some were close, but he didn't falter. He kept his walking pace and went deeper into the mountains.

After 2 hours of walking, night finally began to fall. The forest was also becoming silent, but this silence was even more dangerous than the hustle of the day.
