Chapter 24: Chapter 24
Release emotions and Vent
"Click." Samantha walked into her house. Sarah, who was studying on the sofa, looked up at the door. Her face instantly went pale seeing Samantha covered in dried, caked blood. She immediately jumped up and ran to her.
"What happened, sis? Why are you all bloody like this?" she asked in a panic.
"I'm fine... I'm just going upstairs to shower, okay?" Samantha replied.
"Oh no... I'm coming with you. You're clearly not okay, sis," Sarah said, full of worry.
Seeing Sarah look so panicked and scared, Samantha nodded. Sarah immediately took Samantha's arm and draped it over her shoulder, then helped Samantha upstairs. Once they were in front of the master bathroom, Sarah helped a silent and still-shocked Samantha undress. Then, she led Samantha into the shower and took off her own clothes.
She turned on the shower and began washing Samantha's body, cleaning off the dried blood. The water at their feet turned red before swirling down the drain. Samantha remained silent, just watching Sarah busy scrubbing her body and applying soap. Sarah then gently held Samantha's head, tilting it slightly, searching for the source of the blood, which clearly came from her head.
"No cuts, sis, you're fine. What actually happened?" Sarah asked.
"It's a long story," Samantha replied curtly.
After rinsing everything off with the shower, Sarah suggested they soak for a bit to clean any spots she might have missed. As they stepped into the tub, "Gyuuut," Samantha suddenly hugged Sarah without saying a word. A surprised Sarah immediately hugged Samantha back and stroked her hair.
"If you want to talk, I'm here to listen," Sarah said calmly.
"I'm pregnant," Samantha replied.
"Huh?"
A shocked Sarah immediately pushed Samantha away from the hug. Then she stared at Samantha's face, which was looking down and lost in thought.
"You... you're pregnant, sis? Really?" Sarah asked.
Samantha nodded. Sarah then immediately hugged Samantha again, and this time she didn't ask any more questions after seeing Samantha's expression. They remained silent for a while, holding each other, naked in the bathtub.
"I don't care anymore, honestly. I don't even know if I'm a guy or not. I'm pregnant, and I don't even need a test to feel something in my stomach. It's real," Samantha muttered to herself, burying her face in Sarah's chest.
"Don't worry, sis, I'll help you get through everything," Sarah said.
"Thanks," Samantha replied weakly.
They continued their bath. Sarah kept looking for dirty spots that the shower couldn't clean on Samantha's still body. When they were done, Sarah helped Samantha out of the bathroom and laid her on the bed. After that, she left the room to prepare some food for Samantha.
After Sarah left,
[Sir.]
"What now?" Samantha asked, covering her eyes with her arm.
[There's one more thing you haven't opened yet, the mystery box.]
Samantha opened her dimensional storage and pressed "Mystery gift box." A small, ribbon-tied box appeared in her palm.
"What is this now?" she asked, lifting the box and looking at it.
[Just open it, sir. The contents vary and random.]
"It's not something that's going to kill me and make me pregnant again, is it?" Samantha asked, skeptical but resigned.
[Of course not.]
Samantha pulled the ribbon, and a bright light burst from the box, followed by thousands of sparkling dust motes, like fireflies. The light dust floated into the empty space in Samantha's large room and formed something standing vertically. When the light disappeared, Samantha sat up and turned to look at the object that had appeared in her room: a large punching bag hanging from a pole. Samantha's eyes widened, but then she smiled. She immediately got off the bed and walked over to the punching bag.
"Tap," she touched the punching bag in front of her, then felt it. "Thump," she punched it.
"Can I use this punching bag to blow off some steam?" Samantha asked in her head.
[Go ahead, sir. That's what the reward is for.]
"Good. It's perfect timing; I really want to vent everything that happened today to this punching bag," Samantha replied.
"Thump... thump... thump," she began with three soft punches to the bottom of the punching bag. Then, "Thump... thump... wham... wham," she continued with straight punches, spinning kicks, straight kicks, elbow strikes, and so on. "Hahahaha... you're all dead," Samantha yelled, continuously throwing punches and kicks. She was truly letting out all her frustration and anger.
"I'm a guy... but I'm pregnant... I died four times in a row... damn system!" Samantha screamed, letting everything out as she enthusiastically pounded her fists.
"Rattle... rattle," the chains holding the punching bag began to clang loudly as Samantha's punches and kicks grew stronger.
"I'm a guy, you hear?! I'm not a girl! How can I be pregnant?!" she yelled, full of energy.
"Rattle... rattle... clang... clang," the punching bag swayed more and more with each powerful punch and kick Samantha landed. Samantha's body began to pour sweat, but her smile widened, and her eyes grew sharper, fixed on the punching bag. She landed a spinning kick, "WHAM!" "Rattle... clang," the punching bag flew far away and came back, but "WHAM!" Samantha's fist landed, sending the punching bag flying again until its pole flew up to the ceiling. As it came down, "THUD!" the punching bag was met with a spinning kick, sending it "CRASH!" into Samantha's small table next to the bed, destroying it and embedding itself in the wall. "Hoh... hoh... hoh," Samantha panted, drenched in sweat. She wiped her smiling mouth with her arm.
[Satisfied, sir?]
"Yes... very satisfied," Samantha gasped.
[Good. Now look at the door.]
"Huh?"
Samantha turned to look at the bedroom door. Her eyes widened as she saw Sarah standing frozen, mouth agape, holding a tray with a plate of sandwiches and two glass of orange juice.
"Sarah... how long have you been standing there?" Samantha asked, turning around and wiping her sweat.
"Um... ever since you said 'I'm a guy, you hear?! I'm not a girl! How can I be pregnant?' something like that, sis," Sarah said.
"Huh?" Samantha replied.
"Um... sorry, sis, can I ask you something weird ?" Sarah asked.
"W-what?" Samantha replied, returning Sarah's question.
"Um... are you really a guy, sis? From the way you talk just now... from what you just did, and (glancing at the punching bag) from the shape that punching bag that looks like someone was killed... everything seems like a guy's doing things and venting," Sarah said.
"Oh no... did she find out? Why didn't you tell me sooner, Hades?" Samantha asked in her head.
[I apologize, sir. You were serious just now, and I didn't want to disturb you.]
Samantha walked closer to Sarah and took both of Sarah's shoulders. She looked at Sarah, still panting, which made Sarah a little confused.
"You saw my body, right? We just showered together, and I'm pregnant. What do you think, am I a girl or a guy?" Samantha asked.
"Um... a girl... but it's okay if you're a guy, hehe," Sarah replied casually.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Samantha asked.
"What I mean, for me, you're you, sis. Whether you're a guy or a girl doesn't matter," Sarah said with a smile.
"Oh... I see... Thanks," Samantha replied. Clearly didn't expect Sarah's answer but she feels validated.
"No problem, sis," Sarah replied.
Samantha recovered and returned to her original state, as if nothing had happened all day. She pulled Sarah's hand and invited Sarah to sit on the side of her bed. Then, they enjoyed the sandwiches Sarah made together while chatting. However, every now and then, she'd touch her stomach, and this time she smiled as she felt it.
"That's right, I'm a dad but I'm also a mom, it's bizarre but it feels weirdly good and calm," Samantha muttered in her head.
