Chapter 353: Book 13: Part 6 – 361

It turned out that after failing so miserably during the Planar Wars, Phueus was approached by the Spirit of the Overgod of Darkness with a proposition.

According to the Spirit of Darkness, if Phueus was able to become a paragon in both the Laws and Concept of Darkness, it would allow him to become the true Overgod of Darkness, with it being the spirit of his chosen weapon – essentially the same deal that was offered by the Spirits of Wind, Light, and Fire.

The reason for this wasn't merely for the purpose of testing their chosen candidate; it was also because only a paragon of a concept would be able to accept the spirit of an Overgod in their weapon without it crumbling.

If they chose not to do it this way and simply gave their Overgod Spark to their chosen candidate, the spirit of said element would dissipate, unable to exist without a tether.

One might ask how it would even be possible for one to get started in the process of mastering a Concept, as the method of doing so was firmly controlled by Aiden and those on his side, but it had to be remembered that one of the abilities of an Overgod, which was near enough bordering on omniscience, was their ability, as the embodiment of their respective elements, to constantly spread their awareness throughout the universe at all times; as such, back when Aiden first created the path of Concepts, all the other Overgods had heard the way in which it was cultivated.

It was only after Aiden woke from his enlightened coma-like state that he was able to put a ban on the Yulan Plane – with the help of the Spirit of Wind – preventing the senses of the other Overgods from listening entering the Yulan Plane. Unfortunately, by then, it was too late.

At the time, the other Overgod Spirits hadn't disseminated the cultivation method to the Sovereigns and deities as they still had no intention of working with them back then, but things changed after the events of the last Planar War, especially when Aiden made his first appearance outside the Yulan Plane as an Overgod.

Although they were restricted to spiritual forms, they were still Overgods; as such, they were able to see through Aiden's current state at first glance; as such, they were easily able to see that Aiden had only completed the first part of his Overgod transformation, meaning he had only condensed his Overgod Body, and hadn't accepted the faith of his element as yet, even so, when the other respective Overgod Spirits saw Aiden each and every single one of them felt threatened.

It had to be remembered that when Ace created the Mandate of Pure Yang, he received a blessing straight from heaven. So how could Aiden not have received a blessing after creating and perfecting a path that was no less, if not more, impressive?

The spirits of the other Overgods had long suspected Aiden had received a blessing from heaven, but with the ban Aiden and the Spirit of Wind put up over the Yulan Plane, they had no way of telling what it was. But when they were finally able to lay their eyes on Aiden again, they finally understood the truth.

It had to be remembered that an Overgod had a total of 200 units of Will when fused into their Overgod bodies, but when Aiden arrived, he had 281. It appeared that as the progenitor of the path of Concepts, Heavens blessed Aiden with the same amount of Willpower as a Chief Sovereign on top of the one unit of will for becoming a paragon in the Laws of Wind and the 200 units for becoming an Overgod.

If that were it, although the Spirits of the seven Law Overgods would be deeply envious, the Spirits of the Four Edicts wouldn't mind too much. Although there would be a significant difference in the levels of their foundation, it was far from enough to close the gap between him and the Overgods of the Four Edicts; after all, they had spent too much time garnering the faith of the entire universe. So after they finished condensing their bodies and accepted the faith of their respective Edicts, the power they would have at their disposal was far more than a measly 80 units of Will could accomplish.

Still, the four remained more than a little cautious of Aiden as he still hadn't gone on to accept the faith of his Law.

That was the simplest and fastest part of becoming an Overgod and would typically only take a year, so they couldn't understand why he hadn't done so, especially as it would give him the ability to protect his loved ones.

For example, had he already done so, Aiden would've been able to know what was happening to Killian and the others immediately and resolved the whole problem with a mere thought.

Still, even though they didn't know the reason behind Aiden's decision to put it off, they knew there had to be a reason, and whatever the reason was, it was likely to put more pressure on them in the future; as such, they chose to take certain precautions in advance.

One of which was focused on Phueus. Not only did the Chief Sovereign of Darkness already have an irreversible feud with Ace and their side, but thanks to his bloodline, should he become an Overgod, he would have the potential to stand above the other Overgods, second only to them and potentially Aiden, depending on the full contents of his blessing from heaven.

It had to be remembered that as an Overgod, the spirit of Darkness was able to easily search the universe for other remnants of the Viz clan so that Phueus would be able to complete his Viz clone's bloodline. After all, although the Viz clan's main branch had been destroyed, they had been an extremely powerful clan for billions of years and definitely had other branches spread through the universe.

It was thanks to that Phueus' Viz bloodline clone was infinitely close to perfection – it had long since passed the level of purity of Ace's former Viz bloodline, reaching the level of Amira's father, closing in on the level of Amira herself.

All he needed now was one final Viz clan descendant, and Phueus would finally be able to complete that clone and move on to the next. Unfortunately, there were no more Viz Clan descendants running around the rest of the universe – all those remaining were on the Yulan Plane and their attached mini-dimensions.

They had originally planned for Phueus to become a paragon in the concept of Darkness so that he could bear the strain of the Spirit of Darkness merging with his weapon and then become the new Overgod of Darkness before proceeding to try and take a Viz Clan descendant by force, but after seeing Aiden again just now, they understood that not only was that impossible, Aiden posed even more of a threat than they ever could've imagined in their wildest imaginations.

The last time they saw Aiden, his body was made of 281 units of Will, but this time, his body was made up of 361!
