Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 473: Zombie Challenge Event ( 16 )

The elves went silent as the screen transitioned to Level 60.

Shane had really reached the level that no Survivor should achieve in less than a year. It was an incredible achievement.

The administrators collectively held their breath as they saw the enemies that had been arranged by the System this time.

Apparently, five Armored Tyrant King Zombies appeared on the battlefield.

Just a single Armored Tyrant King could probably annihilate one of the Clans at Rank 21 and above. They have an incredible defense, and with their towering height, which was above the previous Tyrants, these creatures could never be killed so easily.

In fact, even if Shane has Legendary Weapons, he might not be able to easily cut through their bodies. It would require him to use several Legendary Weapons for that!

In short, this Armored Tyrant King was just a couple of levels below the Lord-Tier Zombies!

Anyway, the Armored Tyrant Kings had obsidian armor that seemed to be reinforced with mystical properties. The obvious difference they had from the other Zombies was that they carried a massive weapon—a bone club.

"Now let's see…" Anastasia said as her hands tightened around the edge of her desk. "No one has ever received the second milestone reward in the first Challenge Event. This might be the first time it'll happen.

"Do you think he'll manage it?" another elf asked hesitantly.

Anastasia's gaze remained fixed on Shane. "If anyone can, it's him. But these creatures… they were designed to end the challenge."

The administrators watched in silence as Shane prepared to face the Tyrant Kings. The atmosphere in the chamber was filled with expectation as every elf was captivated by the unfolding battle.

They all watched as Shane, with his Silver Sword in hand, calmly observed the Armored Tyrant Kings.

At this time, his Metal Slime, Silver, did not go out and had wrapped itself snugly around his torso, acting as an additional layer of living armor. With its ability, it could shift around its body and harden whenever a vulnerable spot was exposed.

The administrators nodded at this decision since Silver would surely die if it tried to act alone. Some of them couldn't help but smile at the synchronization between the man and the pet.

"Look at how that slime adapts… I wish there were slimes like that in our realm as well." an elf with golden hair and cute features observed. "This System is really incredible… What a synergy."

"I wonder if this would be enough," Anastasia muttered. "I don't think his previous tactics would work against those kings. The Tyrant Kings are not mere brutes. They have decent intelligence and could calculate their moves. One mistake, and even he will fall."

Then, the battle began.

The Armored Tyrant Kings advanced… They seemed to be aware that Shane was dangerous after being able to reach this level.

As expected of intelligent Zombies, they seemed to plan on assessing Shane's strength first.

Nonetheless, even with their slow movement, they were also putting more pressure on their feet, making the ground tremble with every step.

The elves then watched as Shane immediately darted forward.

His movements were incredibly fast as he relied on Veiled Steps to disappear from the zombies' direct line of sight.

He then reappeared at the flank of the first Armored Tyrant King, his Silver Sword glowing faintly as he activated the Silver Flare to the creature's exposed joint.

Boom!

Sparks flew, and the armor dented slightly. Shane seemed to be shocked, seeing how tough it was.

"He's testing their weak points," one elf murmured.

"And finding them," another added, impressed.

The Armored Tyrant Kings retaliated as they tried grabbing Shane's body.

However, he was simply too fast… Nonetheless, it was enough for them to send Shane backing away. After all, they would be able to use their weapons that way.

Whoosh!

One swung its bone club downward with an incredible force.

Boom!

Shane dodged by a hair's breadth, and the ground exploded into shards where the weapon struck. Another Tyrant King attempted to corner him, swinging his weapon in a sweeping arc.

Shane reacted with a Five-Meter Jump, vaulting over the attack and slashing downward as he descended.

"Ha!"

The Silver Sword bit deep into the Tyrant King's shoulder, but its enchanted armor absorbed most of the damage.

Anastasia leaned forward. "He's got good moves. Every move is still calculated to maximize impact while conserving energy. He's brilliant. Unfortunately, he doesn't have enough strength anymore…"

As the battle raged, Shane alternated between Shadow Hunt to reposition, Predator's Edge, and Adrenaline Surge to temporarily amplify his reflexes and strength.

The Tyrant Kings, however, were simply too tough… It even seemed as if their small injuries could heal in a few moments.

They were simply too powerful and tough…

Furthermore, they could coordinate their attacks to overwhelm him. They weren't just acting based on their instinct!

Yet, Shane's skill and Silver's protective shifts kept him one step ahead.

However, the strain began to show; beads of sweat formed on his brow, and his movements, though still precise, carried a hint of desperation.

Then, disaster struck. As Shane blocked a crushing blow from the mace-wielding Tyrant King, a loud crack resonated through the arena. The Silver Sword—his trusted blade—splintered into shards, the force of the impact proving too much.

Crash!

The administrators gasped collectively.

"His weapon… it's gone," one of them whispered.

"Isn't that supposed to be Legendary? What now? Can he recover from this?" another asked nervously.

Shane, on the other hand, didn't hesitate. He immediately retreated after his weapon was destroyed.

Then, in one fluid motion, he reached into his inventory and summoned the Gale Blade. The slender, double-edged blade appeared.

It was a bit strange to use this weapon since it was very light compared to his other swords. Nonetheless, it was emanating a dangerous energy.

As soon as he took it out, the elf admins watching him received information about the weapon he was using.

[ Gale Blade ( Legendary ): A one-handed double-edged blade forged from rare, wind-infused metal. Light yet durable, the Gale Blade is designed for swift strikes and carries the elemental force of a cyclone.

Effects:

Windstrike ( Passive Effect ): Each slash with the Gale Blade has a chance to unleash a razor-sharp wind arc, dealing 60% more damage to enemies within a 5-meter range.

Light as Air ( Passive Effect ): Reduces the weapon's weight to near zero, increasing the wielder's attack speed by 60% and improving movement agility by 20%.

Stormguard Aura ( Passive Effect ): Surrounds the wielder with a protective wind barrier, reducing all ranged projectile damage by 40% and granting 50% resistance to wind-based effects. ]

"So it's the Gale Blade this time…" Anastasia murmured, her voice filled with awe. "It's already legendary as well… Let's see how he wields it."

The moment the Gale Blade was unsheathed, Shane's movements transformed. Its Light as Air effect made his strikes and movement incredibly faster.

After all, Shane's agility was already too high… With the 20% increase, his body was like one with the wind as he darted around the Tyrant Kings.

With each swing, arcs of razor-sharp wind—courtesy of Windstrike—lashed out, slicing into the Tyrants' armor from unexpected angles.

The Tyrant Kings roared in frustration, their massive swings were now striking empty air as Shane danced between them.

"That blade suits him perfectly," an elf commented. "He's leveraging its speed and ranged wind slashes to compensate for the difference in strength."

"Yes… But it's still hard to pass through their defense."

Indeed, the battle was far from over.

Although they could barely follow Shane's movement, the Armored Tyrant Kings adapted, moving with surprising coordination.

One of them feigned an opening, drawing Shane in, while another brought its bone club down in an ambush. Shane barely evaded, Silver hardening on his shoulder to absorb a glancing blow that would have shattered bones.

As the minutes turned to twenty, the watchers, including those in the waiting area, were filled with anticipation.

The arena was filled with chaos, and it was hard to follow Shane's movements at all. There were shattered bone clubs, gusting winds, and the persistent attacks of the Tyrant Kings that would destroy the ground from time to time…

Shane had managed to cripple two of the monsters, their movements were slowed by deep gashes and broken armor, but the remaining three were as fierce as ever.

"He's really holding on… It's more than 20 minutes already" one elf said, awe creeping into his voice. "No one else even made it this far."

"But for how much longer?" another elf commented. "The Tyrant Kings are tireless. They're zombies… He isn't."

Anastasia, on the other hand, remained silent as her gaze was fixed on the screen.

Despite the odds, Shane fought on and with his incredible enemies, and his strategy also started evolving with every passing moment.

"Come on, Shane…" she whispered…

"Show us what you're truly capable of. Show me why you have the blessing of the Fairy Queen."
