Genshin Impact: I Became The Son Of Greater Lord Rukkhadevata

Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Adventure In Liyue

The Scarlet King noticed Yu walking back, carrying… a head. Not just that—the head was still talking, non-stop, and…

Honestly, the scene was either terrifying or downright bizarre.

"Yu, what is that thing?"

"… A toy."

… Silence hung in the air…

"How do you play with it?"

"However you want."

"Oh my, little brother, I didn't know you had such… interesting tastes."

Yu conjured a spherical object, stuffed it into the peculiar head's mouth, and tied it securely, ensuring it couldn't utter another word.

"She has petrifying eyes. I figured they'd be useful, so I brought her back."

The Scarlet King replied indifferently, "Fine, go play with it yourself."

---

After hiding out in the desert for some time, Yu finally returned, loudly declaring,

"I'M BACK!"

Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, unimpressed, said,

"You'd better leave again."

To her, Yu had become more of a nuisance lately. Compared to the delightful, graceful little flower who could dance beautifully and speak sweetly, Yu was annoying. The farther he stayed away, the better.

Yu noticed a caravan preparing to set off. Without hesitation, he decided to join them. He didn't bother calculating how far the journey was or how long it would take. Their destination? Guili Assembly.

Holding the head of the Gorgon, Yu removed its gag and asked,

"Hey, why do you think my mother kicked me out?"

There was no response.

"Why aren't you talking?"

Still no response. She was clearly alive but refused to engage with Yu.

Seeing this, Yu shrugged. Too lazy to bother, he thought, Fine, silence it is. Who doesn't know how to keep quiet?

Lounging on the back of a pack beast, Yu held the large head in his left hand, wrapped in cloth to avoid scaring others. Ironically, the wrapped head looked even creepier.

Suddenly, the Gorgon spoke again.

"Hey, could you put that thing back in my mouth? It was… surprisingly comfortable."

The merchants and guards of the caravan exchanged glances, unsure how to react. Well, at least they felt safe in his presence.

Though many viewed Yu as eccentric, he undeniably had a reassuring presence.

---

Within Liyue's Borders

Yu held a thick wooden stick, slowly roasting a massive Geo Lizard over a campfire. With a small knife, he sliced off a piece of the roasted meat, sprinkled some salt on it, and took a bite.

"Delicious. Alhaitham, make sure you note down how I'm cooking this."

"Understood."

"How much longer until we reach our destination?"

"Prince, we set out just a few days ago. We're about halfway there."

"Got it. At least the journey hasn't been too boring. By the way, what are we transporting?"

"A large amount of grain, Prince. Thanks to your efforts, our grain supply might be the largest in all of Teyvat."

"Be careful, then. Desperate people do desperate things."

Suddenly, Yu heard a faint whistling sound. Turning around, he saw a dazzling rain of arrows descending, like ripe wheat falling gently in an autumn field.

"Damn it! Bandits already?"

Without hesitation, Yu summoned a massive wall of Dendro energy, blocking the arrow storm.

"They're human."

A group of bandits clad in grass skirts, wielding various weapons, charged towards them. Leading the charge was a swift figure wielding an Anemo Vision.

Yu narrowed his eyes. A cheerful wind user, huh? He wasn't in the mood to deal with them kindly. Summoning a wooden spike, Yu assumed a pose reminiscent of ancient Greek javelin throwers.

With a perfect stance, well-defined muscles, and fierce strength, Yu hurled the spike. It pierced the wind user cleanly, pinning him to the ground. The bandit, though gravely injured, was still alive.

Yu turned to his companions and ordered,

"Stay down. Don't lift your heads. I'll handle this."

Then, he raised his voice,

"Everyone, look at me! Focus your eyes here! I have something to announce!"

The bandits, startled by their leader's defeat, hesitated. But hearing Yu's command, they instinctively turned their gaze towards him.

Yu lifted the Gorgon's head and removed the cloth covering her eyes.

In an instant, most of the bandits were turned to stone. The wind user, still impaled and writhing in pain, became a petrified figure frozen in agony—a gruesome yet strangely artistic sight.

Yu surveyed the remaining survivors, who were visibly trembling.

"Who sent you?"

No response.

"Don't want to answer? Do you want to become a masterpiece too?"

"Wait! We—we're under the command of an ancient Archon's subordinate!"

The survivors spilled everything. Yu quickly pieced it together—they were nothing more than desperate thugs trying to rob them.

"Capture the survivors and sell them as slaves in Liyue."

Yu glanced at the petrified bandits. Their twisted poses and expressions stirred something within him—an artistic inspiration.

"Take the impaled wind guy. He's mine. And those statues—yes, all of them. Load them up and sell them as art pieces."

The surviving bandits broke into a cold sweat. This was beyond horrifying—this prince was insane. Calling petrified people art? He was a complete mad dog.

"Prince, we're out of space."

Yu frowned. He genuinely wanted those statues.

"Unload one of the carts. Consider it sold to me. I'll pay you when we reach Sumeru."

"… Fine." The caravan leader sighed in resignation.

After a long and arduous journey, Yu and his entourage finally reached Guili Assembly.

(Author's Note: The author isn't sure when Liyue relocated its capital, so let's assume this takes place when Guili Assembly was still around. In this timeline, it's roughly a thousand years ago. The nations of Teyvat have been established, but many of their key figures have yet to meet their fate.)

"This place looks lively." Yu observed the bustling town with curiosity, feeling a spark of ambition rising in his heart.

Mine. All of it will be mine.

But now wasn't the right time. Suppressing his ambitions for the moment, Yu focused on the task at hand.
