Gamer, fixing the fates of fictional characters

Chapter 3: Start of a new Chapter

Land of Whirlpools

Warring States Period

The air inside the Uzumaki clan's main residence was heavy with tension and anticipation. Situated in the heart of Uzushiogakure, the sprawling estate bore all the hallmarks of the clan's power and prestige: intricately carved redwood pillars, swirling whirlpool patterns etched into the walls, and a pervasive aura of vitality and strength that seemed to hum through the very air. The inner chambers, reserved for the most significant family events, were alive with muted whispers and hurried footsteps.

Inside one of these chambers, Kazuto Uzumaki paced anxiously. The young man, tall and broad-shouldered, bore the unmistakable marks of his lineage. His crimson hair, a hallmark of the Uzumaki bloodline, gleamed under the soft glow of the room's lanterns, and his sharp amber eyes darted to the closed doors leading to the birthing room. Clad in a simple but elegant robe of deep maroon, marked with the clan's swirling crest on the back, Kazuto looked every bit the heir to the Uzumaki patriarch.

Outside, the sounds of Uzushiogakure faded into the distance as the world seemed to hold its breath. The inner region of the village, known for its tranquility and protection, felt eerily quiet. Even the ever-present sea breeze that carried the scent of salt and freedom seemed subdued.

A soft groan pierced the silence from beyond the doors. Kazuto stopped pacing and turned, his heart hammering in his chest. His wife, Shizuka, was enduring the pains of childbirth, and despite his training, his strength, and his title, he felt utterly helpless in this moment.

"She's strong," came a soft voice behind him.

Kazuto turned to see his younger sister, Mito Uzumaki, her crimson hair tied back into a simple braid. Dressed in a ceremonial healer's robe, she carried an air of calm authority.

"Mito, you're here," Kazuto said, his voice betraying his nerves. "How is she?"

"She's doing well," Mito assured him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Shizuka is tougher than even you give her credit for. She'll get through this."

Kazuto nodded, though the worry didn't leave his eyes. "It's just… I can't stop thinking about all the responsibility this child will carry. Born into the main line, expected to—"

"To be strong, to be a leader, to carry the legacy," Mito finished for him, her tone understanding. "But that's tomorrow's burden, Kazuto. Right now, focus on the present. Your child is about to be born."

Before Kazuto could reply, the door to the birthing chamber creaked open, and a midwife emerged. Her face was flushed, but she wore a reassuring smile.

"Come," she said softly. "Both mother and child are well. You should see them."

Kazuto inhaled sharply, steadying himself, then stepped forward. Mito followed a few paces behind, her smile warm but distant as she respected the moment meant for her brother and sister-in-law.

Inside the chamber, the air was warm and fragrant with the calming herbs that burned in a small brazier. Shizuka lay on a low bed, her face pale but radiant, her dark violet eyes shimmering with exhaustion and joy. Her long, midnight-blue hair clung to her damp skin, and her delicate features were lit with a soft smile as she cradled a bundle in her arms.

"Kazuto…" she whispered, her voice barely audible.

He approached quickly, kneeling by her side. His eyes fell on the child in her arms, and for a moment, the weight of his responsibilities melted away.

The baby, wrapped in a soft red blanket, stirred gently. Tiny tufts of crimson hair crowned his head, and though his eyes remained closed, the faint energy Kazuto felt emanating from the child was unmistakable.

"He's… perfect," Kazuto said, his voice breaking slightly as he gently touched his son's tiny hand.

"He's strong," Shizuka murmured, her smile widening. "Just like his father."

Kazuto shook his head, his amber eyes glistening with emotion. "No. He's stronger. I can feel it."

The baby gave a soft whimper, then opened his eyes for the first time. A hush fell over the room as the couple gazed at their child. His eyes, a vivid and unusual red, seemed to glow faintly in the dim light.

Mito, who had been watching silently, stepped closer, her expression one of awe. "Those eyes…" she whispered. "They remind of the Sharingan, but that could not possibly be true…"

Kazuto nodded, his mind racing and his brows lightly furrowed as he took in the sight. The vibrant crimson of the child's eyes, with faint swirling patterns within, seemed to carry a power both unfamiliar and ancient. "Though it indeed reminds of the Sharingan, it doesn't seem to be one… just what kind of future awaits this child."

"Only time will tell, but first should come his name," Shizuka said softly, looking at her husband.

Kazuto smiled, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. "Kaitou," he said firmly. "Our son will be Kaitou Uzumaki. A name fitting for one who will carve his own path, as both Uzumaki and Hozuki."

Shizuka nodded, her smile glowing with pride. "Kaitou…" she repeated, her voice filled with love.

The baby, as if recognizing his name, let out a soft coo and grasped Kazuto's finger with surprising strength.

Kazuto chuckled, his earlier tension forgotten. "Welcome to the world, Kaitou Uzumaki. May it be ready for you."

Outside, the soft breeze picked up again, carrying with it the promise of new beginnings and the faint whispers of destiny.

Meanwhile

'Oh god, that is embarrassing even for me… I guess now I understand what ROB meant with that my soul and this body will only merge over time,' thought the little baby, now known as Kaitou, as he witnesses his behavior.

'For now, it seems to be holding out till my next birthday, or at least till I can properly handle this body is the only thing i can do. I can't really accept, that I'm gonna behave like a child for the foreseeable time, but I guess sacrifices must be made,' declared Kaitou while giving a small salute inwardly.

—————————————

Over the next months Kaitou's body slowly but surely fused with his soul, and he began to gain control over his body, at least as much control a not even one year old can have over their body.

All the while he was treated like a little prince, that he kind of was, and doted on by his mother.

In this time frame he also met his aunt a few times, even her husband Hashirama Senju, the man, that would soon be called the "God of Shinobi", came by once together with their child.

The man as strong as he already was, acted like a young child receiving candy when he saw Kaitou for the first time, completely mesmerized by the child and his beautiful eyes. Before his sunny demeanor even Kaitou was kind of dumbfounded, even though he already knew of his character from watching the show in his first life.

Though, even with this behavior, one should not forget that this man still leads his clan alongside his brother against the Uchiha Clan, and that both of their clans are still at their strongest, at least stronger than the states of them after all the plots and intrigues of the future elders in the confines of Konoha.

Without even fully realizing it, the long and at the same time short first year of his new Life passed in the blink of an eye. And soon arrived the long-awaited birthday, that would mark the true beginning of Kaitou's new life.
