Chapter 4: A festive celebration

Land of Waves

March 20th

In the inner districts of Uzushiogakure there was great turmoil, the young master's birthday was soon to fully start. Everything was already decorated and ready to fully celebrate this important day. The only thing missing right now was just Kaitou, who was getting attended to in his room.

"Mum, is this really necessary," asked the childish voice of Kaitou in a slightly resigned tone, while he was looking at his reflection in the mirror.

In front of him stood a young man, just turned 1 year old, clad in a white and orange haori with many swirling red markings of the Uzumaki clan and a high neck. To keep it in place, an elegant obi was wrapped around his waist, which was further decorated with special accessories. For pants, Kaitou wore a loose black hakama, and to finish the outfit a pair of black open ninja sandals.

"Yes, sweetie, it's your first official appearance, after all. You need to look stunning and presentable for the clan—and for your father," his mother replied with a gentle but lecturing tone, her fingers making the final adjustments to his formal robes.

Kaitou sighed, shifting slightly in his stiff, ceremonial attire. "Do I really have to wear this? It feels like I'm drowning in fabric."

Shizuka chuckled softly, brushing a stray lock of red hair from his face. "Patience, my little warrior. You'll get used to it. Besides, you look very handsome - just like your father at your age."

A voice came from beyond the door. "My lady, everyone is awaiting the young master."

Shizuka straightened, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "Alright then, let's not keep them waiting. Besides," she added with a mischievous smile, "if I'm not mistaken, there's a little surprise waiting for you."

Kaitou perked up at that. "A surprise? What kind of surprise?"

"Fufufu, you'll see soon enough," she teased, holding out her hand for him to take.

Realizing there was no point in resisting, Kaitou sighed again, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Fine. Not like I can get out of this outfit anyway."

The mother-son duo made their way through the beautifully adorned corridors of the Uzumaki main residence. Decorations of deep crimson and gold lined their path, lanterns glowing warmly, casting intricate shadows that danced along the walls. Every detail of the decor whispered of grandeur and pride, befitting the occasion of the young heir's first public appearance.

Finally, they reached the towering crimson doors of the festive hall. Shizuka paused, kneeling slightly to look Kaitou in the eye. "Are you ready, my little spark?"

Kaitou nodded, determination flickering in his eyes.

With a sharp knock, the doors swung open, revealing a grand hall brimming with life and color. Clan members filled the space, their laughter and chatter dying down momentarily as they turned to look at the boy of the hour.

As Kaitou stepped into the room alongside his mother, the crowd erupted in cheers and applause. The hall was a spectacle—a feast of red and white banners, Uzumaki clan symbols proudly displayed on every surface. Tables overflowed with food and drink, and the room buzzed with warmth and familial joy.

"Kazuto!" Shizuka called out, spotting her husband near the head of the hall.

Kazuto Uzumaki, standing tall and regal, smiled at the sight of his wife and son. He gestured them over, pride radiating from his every move. As they reached him, he knelt slightly, placing a hand on Kaitou's shoulder. "You look every bit the part, my boy. Today is a day to remember."

Kaitou smiled shyly at his father's praise, but before he could respond, another presence drew closer.

"Well, well, isn't this quite the grand affair?" A deep, jovial voice cut through the crowd. Turning toward it, Kaitou saw a striking couple approaching, accompanied by another man with a much sterner expression.

"Aunt Mito!" Kaitou called out, running towards the beautiful Redhead as decorum briefly left his mind.

Mito Uzumaki caught him in a warm embrace, her crimson hair shining in the lamplight. "Happy birthday, my dear Kaitou. You're growing up so fast." She pulled back, her eyes soft. "I brought some special guests to see you."

Kaitou's eyes widened as he looked past her to see two towering figures.

"This is Hashirama Senju, my husband, i know you've met him once already but that was when you were still a baby," Mito said with a smile.

Hashirama grinned, kneeling down to Kaitou's level. " A fine young man you're turning out to be little one."

"And this," Mito gestured, "is his brother, Tobirama."

Tobirama gave Kaitou a curt nod, his expression less animated but still respectful. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Kaitou. Though… today, I believe, calls for something more special."

Kaitou tilted his head, confused.

Hashirama chuckled and clapped Tobirama on the back. "Go on, tell him!"

Tobirama cleared his throat, his stern expression softening slightly. "Kaitou Uzumaki, it's an honor for me to be named your godfather. It was at your mother and father's insistence - and, I admit, with some coaxing from Mito and my brother - that I agreed. Your name… Kaitou, was also chosen to reflect our connection. It means 'a guide,' one who leads with wisdom."

The room stilled momentarily, then erupted in applause and cheers again. Kaitou blinked, processing the announcement.

"My godfather?" he repeated in awe, looking at Tobirama.

Tobirama nodded with a small nearly imperceptible smile. "It's a responsibility I take seriously. I'll do my best to guide you, should you ever need it."

Kaitou felt a swell of pride, bowing deeply. "Thank you, Lord Tobirama. I'll do my best to live up to it!"

The festivities continued, with lively music and warm conversations filling the hall. At one point, Kazuto, Shizuka, and Mito gathered with Hashirama and Tobirama to discuss the current state of the world.

"The truce is holding," Hashirama said, a mix of relief and weariness in his tone. "But it's fragile. The Uchiha have agreed to peace, under Madara lead, yet many within their ranks - and ours - remain distrustful."

Shizuka sighed, her hand tightening around her goblet. "The wounds of war don't heal overnight. Even here in Uzushiogakure, there's unease."

"We'll have to manage it carefully," Kazuto added. "For now, let's focus on stabilizing our respective clans. If this peace holds, perhaps there's hope for a better future."

Tobirama frowned slightly but nodded. "Hope isn't enough. We need action to ensure this peace survives. Too many lifes were lost needlessly in this conflict."

As the night wore on, Kaitou mingled with the guests, accepting well-wishes and gifts. His mind buzzed with excitement, but he maintained his composure. When the party finally ended, and the last guests bid their farewells, Kaitou was guided back to his room.

Now alone, Kaitou sank into the plush mattress, his ceremonial robes exchanged for a comfortable yukata. His thoughts raced as he replayed the night's events: the cheering crowd, the grand decorations, and, most of all, the announcement that Tobirama was his godfather.

"It's been a lot for one day, but the bigges surprise was probably that Tobirama is now my Godfather…" he murmured to himself, gazing at the faint moonlight filtering through the window.

As he closed his eyes, a strange sensation rippled through his mind - a faint hum, followed by a soft, melodic *ding*.

[System Initialization Complete. Welcome, Kaitou Uzumaki.]

His eyes shot open, excitement coursing through him. "Finally," he whispered, a grin spreading across his face.

This was the beginning of his true journey.
