Chapter 22: Dark Memories of Gilgamesh 3
Gilgamesh opened his eyes and saw the sunlight. He felt his head resting on something soft, and a pleasant fragrance filled the air. He turned his head gently and saw Shikama Doji. He had been sleeping on Shikama Doji's lap. When he looked closely at his calm and beautiful face, his cheeks turned red. His human instincts screamed, wanting to take control of his body. Shikama Doji, in response, gave an amused smile and said in his usual gentle tone:
"Well, you managed to pass the second trial. These two trials were designed to test you in harsh environments. But the third and final trial is going to be much harder. It's not going to be that easy. I'll give you a rest today. Whatever you need is in that cabin."
Gilgamesh stood up and looked around. He saw a small, cozy cabin filled with comfortable items and delicious food. But his mind was preoccupied with Shikama Doji's words. He was still sitting on the ground, feeling embarrassed, and could still smell Shikama Doji's fragrance, as if he were still by his side.
At that moment, Shikama Doji appeared in another place. He stood in front of a massive, sacred white tower—**The Tower of Babel**. This marvelous structure had been built by Shikama Doji millions of years ago. After a long time, he had returned to this place. With slow steps, he entered the tower and was overcome by a deep sense of nostalgia.
But why had Shikama Doji returned to the Tower of Babel? The answer was simple: he had a new idea for Gilgamesh's third and final trial. He planned to create a tower similar to the ones seen in Manhua tower with a hundred floors, each floor being a small, unique world. On each floor, there would be a powerful boss that needed to be defeated. For Shikama Doji, creating such a structure was an easy task.
Golden runes wrapped around Shikama Doji, and suddenly, the space and time around the tower began to distort. The tower rapidly transformed, and a hundred different floors appeared within it. Each floor was a small world: some had icy, winter environments, while others had vast forests, volcanoes, graveyards, and even mysterious worlds. This was a miracle that only the abilities of a **Creator** could achieve.
Black orbs entered each floor, and various monsters began to pour out of them. Each floor functioned like a life-producing factory, quickly filling with strange and bizarre creatures. Each monster was unique, tailored to the environment and power level of its floor. Among them, one monster was chosen as the boss. In total, there were a hundred powerful bosses in the tower.
The golden runes wrapped around Shikama Doji once more, and this time, the memories of the monsters began to change. It was as if they had always lived on these floors and had never belonged to any other world. Shikama Doji created a history for each world and fabricated memories for his creatures. Everything seemed logical and reasonable, as if these worlds had existed for millions of years.
Shikama Doji also distorted time within the tower. The passage of time on each floor was different from the outside world. He wanted everything to appear as natural and real as possible. Each floor was like an independent world, with a long history and creatures who believed that this world was their entire existence. In reality, however, all these worlds and their inhabitants had been created for a single trial: a trial for Gilgamesh.
Shikama Doji thought about how terrifying this trial could be for Gilgamesh. But at the same time, it was this challenge that could elevate him to a new level of power and understanding.
"To think that it would come in handy like this is truly unexpected," Shikama Doji murmured to himself. "In a few hours, I'll have to go see my beloved disciple."
With an amused smile on his face, he thought of Gilgamesh once more. The third trial was ready, and Gilgamesh would have to prepare himself for an unparalleled challenge.
