Fate: The Rise of Shikama Douji

Chapter 18: Meeting with Lugalbanda

While Shikama Doji and Gilgamesh walked in silence, Shikama Doji was lost in his thoughts. He was thinking about Grimoire 999, when one of the archangels of the Almighty had left it in the continent of Europe. This grimoire contained the knowledge of 66 million years of Shikama Doji's life, a vast knowledge that the limited minds of humans could not even imagine. Even Shikama Doji's most powerful spell, **Reality Rewrite**, was recorded in this book; a spell that even he had difficulty activating. Shikama Doji knew that in the future, many humans would covet this grimoire, but he was also well aware that miracles come at a price, and anyone who dared to lay hands on this knowledge would face a bitter end.

Uruk, the ancient city, was not far from the forest, and Shikama Doji and Gilgamesh soon reached the city gates. Ahead of them, many soldiers could be seen surrounding a middle-aged man. The middle-aged man, with an angry face and a loud voice, was shouting. Gilgamesh, upon seeing him, let go of Shikama Doji's hand and ran towards the man. This middle-aged man was none other than Lugalbanda, Gilgamesh's father and the king of Uruk.

Lugalbanda, upon seeing Gilgamesh, forgot his anger and quickly ran towards his son. He embraced Gilgamesh tightly. Gilgamesh, who usually avoided such emotional displays, did not resist this time. He, still affected by the fear of the monster he had just escaped from, felt that the few minutes he had spent with Shikama Doji were like several long months. His face was flushed, and in his heart, he cursed Shikama Doji.

After a few moments, Lugalbanda looked at Shikama Doji. His eyes stared at him with caution and curiosity, as if sensing the absolute power of Shikama Doji. He stood up and coughed, then said respectfully, "Thank you for saving my son and bringing him back to Uruk. I, Lugalbanda, the king of Uruk, am grateful to you." He slightly bowed as a sign of respect and thanked Shikama Doji.

Shikama Doji calmly replied, "It was just a coincidence. I also intended to come to Uruk. I had heard of this city, but that this little boy was a prince was truly unexpected." He looked gently at Gilgamesh and Lugalbanda. Gilgamesh, angered by Shikama Doji's reference to him as a "kid," clenched his teeth and cursed Shikama Doji in his heart.

Lugalbanda cautiously suggested, "How about coming to my palace? I promise you won't regret it. As a token of gratitude, I will treat you to the best hospitality." On the surface, this offer was just a simple thank you, but Lugalbanda had another motive. He wanted to keep a close eye on Shikama Doji. If someone were to anger him by mistake, a disaster would occur. Many kingdoms in the past had been destroyed due to the wrath of the gods. Gilgamesh looked at his father and cursed him in his heart.

Shikama Doji, with a calm smile, replied, "Certainly. I am also eager to see the royal palace." He easily read Lugalbanda's plan but chose to pretend not to understand. For Shikama Doji, an absolute being beyond the comprehension of mortals, being deceived by a mortal king was impossible. It was even more ridiculous than pigs flying.

Lugalbanda respectfully said, "Then please follow me." He motioned for the soldiers to make way, and they slowly moved towards the palace. Along the way, Lugalbanda did not ask Shikama Doji's name. He did not dare to ask him directly. Who knew what the temperament of this god was like?

The walk did not take long, and they soon arrived at the palace. The palace of Uruk was a magnificent and extraordinary structure, with architecture that would seem unparalleled even in the modern era. No matter how much human civilization advanced, it would never reach the level of the age of the gods. As soon as the three entered the palace, a bright and dense light suddenly appeared in the space of the palace. This light gradually took the form of a beautiful and serene woman. This woman was none other than Ninsun, the goddess and mother of Gilgamesh.

Gilgamesh stared at his mother in surprise. Ninsun rarely descended to the earth, and her presence here indicated something important. Ninsun looked at Shikama Doji and then, with unparalleled respect, knelt down and uttered words that shocked Gilgamesh and Lugalbanda deeply: "It is an honor to see you, dear father."

These words froze Gilgamesh and Lugalbanda. Gilgamesh was sure that this person was not his grandfather. So, only one person remained whom his mother would address as "father." Lugalbanda also knelt down, and this action further convinced Gilgamesh. This person was the **Divine Ancestor**, the father of creation, the god of creation, and the creator of all. Sweat poured down Gilgamesh's forehead and neck. But the question was: What was an absolute being like Shikama Doji doing here?
