Chapter 30: Chapter 29 "Fellow patient?"

Ethan woke up in a fog of consciousness, and everything around him seemed to be enveloped in a veil. His mind still reverberated with the remnants of the dream, and the sense of mastery over the dark forces had not completely dissipated. In spite of some physical fatigue, he felt himself more determined than ever, as if the experience of the dream had given him some new strength and determination.

He slowly opened his eyes and found himself still lying in a mental hospital bed, surrounded by silence. The light in the room was soft, and the sunlight outside spilled in through the curtains, bringing a little warmth. However, Ethan's heart is still full of mixed emotions.

Just as he was about to sit up, he suddenly noticed a familiar figure outside the ward. Ethan squinted and saw that it was Dr. Lin. She was standing outside the door, as if waiting for him to wake up.

Ethan's heart moved slightly. He knew that Dr. Lin was never waiting for him here for no reason. It was obviously something important.

"Dr. Lin..." Ethan's voice was hoarse. He struggled to sit up and called out to the door.

When Dr. Lin heard Ethan's voice, he opened the door and walked in. There was a concerned look on her face and a soft light in her eyes.

"Ethan, you're awake." Dr. Lin said with a smile and a hint of relief in his voice.

Ethan nodded, still a little weak, but he knew he had to pull himself together. "Dr. Lin, has something happened? Why are you here?"

Dr. Lin walked over to Ethan's bed and tapped him on the shoulder to signal that he wasn't in a hurry. "Actually, Ethan, I came here specifically to see you. We found something that might help you."

'What is it? Ethan's eyes were tinged with anticipation and doubt, and he was desperate for answers.

Dr. Lin sat down, his eyes gentle and firm, "We recently came into contact with a patient with a very similar condition to yours. He also experienced very complex dreams, and even appeared in the dream and reality interwoven phenomenon. He was in a very bad state of mind, but after a long period of treatment, he has fully recovered."

Ethan's heart beat so fast that he could hardly believe his ears. "Really? he Is he really well?"

"Yes." Dr. Lin nodded, with a hint of relief in his tone, "Although his recovery process was difficult, he finally found himself and got rid of dreams and illusions." We think his experience and experience may be of great help to you."

Ethan felt an overwhelming surge of hope, and with little hesitation he immediately asked, "So where is he now?" Can I see him?"

Dr. Lin smiled and said, "Of course. In fact, he is willing to communicate with you. He understands your pain because he has walked the same path before. He wants to be able to help you with his experience."

Ethan's eyes flashed with gratitude, and he knew that being able to talk to someone who had gone through a similar experience was a valuable opportunity for him. "Thank you, Dr. Lin. I'd like to talk to him and hear his story."

Dr. Lin nodded, stood up and walked to the door, "I will arrange for you to meet in a quiet place." You need to stay calm and try to relax."

Ethan took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. He knew that Dr. Lin was right, that he had to stay calm to get the most out of the conversation.

Soon after, Dr. Lin took Ethan to a rest room at the hospital. The environment here is comfortable and quiet, full of sunshine and greenery, giving a sense of serenity.

Ethan sat down in a soft chair, nervous and expectant. A moment later, the lounge door was pushed open and a middle-aged man came in. His face was peaceful, and there was an ineffable warmth and relief in his eyes.

"Hello, Ethan." The man stepped forward, smiled and held out his hand to Ethan. "I'm Robert."

Ethan held his hand tightly and felt a warm force coming from the other hand. He knew this man might hold the key to the answer he was looking for.

"Robert, Dr. Lin tells me that you once went through a situation similar to mine..." Ethan began, a touch of trepidation and anticipation in his voice.

Robert nodded and sat down opposite Ethan. "Yes, Ethan. I've been down the same hard road that you're going through right now. Dreams, visions, mental breakdowns... I've been through them all, and I beat them."

Ethan's eyes were filled with curiosity and longing, and he couldn't wait to find out how Robert had done it. "Can you tell me how you did it? I feel like I'm getting lost... I'm afraid I'll never get rid of these dreams."

Robert took a deep breath and a mixture of emotions flashed through his eyes. He knew that Ethan needed more than a simple answer, but a story of strength and hope.

"Ethan, the first thing you have to understand is that you're not alone." Robert spoke slowly, with deep understanding and empathy in his voice, "When I first fell into those dreams, I felt so alone and hopeless. I thought I would never escape those nightmares, but it turns out I was wrong."

"Through working with the doctor, I gradually learned how to face my fears and my inner darkness." Robert continued, with a determined glint in his eye, "I realized that those dreams weren't really my enemies, but a deep part of me - the emotions and memories I'd been trying to escape and suppress."

Ethan listened quietly, feeling a surge of power in his heart. He knew that Robert's experience resonated deeply with him, and he longed to find his own way, just as Robert had.

"You have to learn to accept these dreams and look at them rather than just run away from them." Robert's voice is deep and powerful. "It's only when you really look inside yourself and understand the meaning behind these dreams that you can gradually release their hold on you."

Ethan nodded, his eyes shining with hope. He knows that the road ahead of him is still full of thorns and challenges, but he is willing to go on, no matter how difficult.

'Thank you, Robert,' I said. Ethan whispered, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Your words have renewed my hope that I will fight through this."

Ethan's curiosity grows as he is eager to learn more about Robert's dream world and how he managed to survive in that difficult and dangerous world and finally overcome his own inner darkness. Robert, seeing Ethan so focused, smiled and nodded, as if he understood the question in his mind.

"Ethan, you want to know about my dream world, right?" Robert asked gently, a glimmer of nostalgia in his eyes.

Ethan nodded, anticipation and nervousness in his voice. "Yes, Robert. I want to know what kind of world you experience and how you deal with its challenges."

Robert leaned back in his chair and took a deep breath, as if he were recalling images from dreams he had experienced. His voice was deep and powerful, with a hint of mystery and solemnity.

"The dream world I experience is completely different from the real world," Robert began. "That world is a fairy world. But unlike the legendary immortals, the practitioners there were mostly evil, and their pursuit of power was dark and bloody. It's a world of endless fighting and killing, where everyone is fighting for power, status and immortality."

Ethan was fascinated. He had never heard of such a world. Although he experiences many bizarre things in his dreams, the world Robert describes is clearly more complex and dangerous.

"In that world, practitioners seek not only power, but also so-called 'immortality.'" Robert continued, with a flash of bitterness in his eyes, "They improve their practice by absorbing the life force, soul and blood of others. Such a practice gradually makes them callous and even completely dehumanized."

Ethan couldn't help but feel a chill. The practice filled him with disgust and fear, but he understood that in that world, strength often meant everything.

"In that dream, I did not become a practitioner from the beginning." Robert continued, with a hint of gravity in his voice, "I started out as an ordinary man who was caught up in a fight between immortals. I have seen with my own eyes how the cult brutally takes the lives of others in order to strengthen itself. I can't forget the horror of that."

"How did you survive?" Ethan couldn't help but ask, he couldn't imagine protecting himself in such a world.

Robert was silent for a moment, as if to collect his thoughts. "In that world, the weak cannot survive. I tried to run away, to get away from the cult fights, but it was impossible. I had to face reality and learn how to survive in that dark world."

"Eventually, I was forced to choose spiritual practice." Robert's voice with a hint of helplessness, "Under the guidance of a fairy, I learned how to absorb the spirit of heaven and earth, how to exercise their body and spirit." But I am not willing to take the path of evil cultivation. I do not want to strengthen myself by depriving others of their lives."

Ethan felt a wave of admiration for Robert's ability to hold his own in that environment, which undoubtedly required a great deal of courage and determination.

"But this persistence makes me more dangerous." Robert continued, a shadow flickering in his eye. "The cult sees me as an anomaly, and they see my unwillingness to join in as a provocation. I was forced into one fight after another, and in the countless fights of life and death, my heart gradually became numb."

"I kept pushing my limits and gradually became a strong practitioner." Robert's voice grew deeper, "But as I gained strength, I also began to feel the darkness inside me slowly eating away at me." I began to wonder if I could really stay true to myself or if I had lost myself on this bloody path."

Ethan listened quietly, and he could feel Robert's inner struggle and pain. The loneliness and helplessness of surviving in the dark reminded him of his own experience in dreams.

"In that world, I met some really strong people who called themselves' the breakthroughers of the divine. '" There was a hint of awe in Robert's voice, "These people have gone beyond the level of ordinary practitioners, and their power is enough to shake heaven and earth." The existence of the divine realm is no longer a distant legend for them, but the ultimate goal they pursue."

"The divine realm?" Ethan couldn't help but ask, intrigued by the mystery and power of the world.

"Yes," Robert nodded, "in that world, the divine realm was considered the ultimate goal of practice. Only by reaching a certain extreme state can one break through the boundaries of mortals, enter the divine realm, and gain true immortality and endless power. But this pursuit often comes with great danger and sacrifice."

"These breakthroughers are powerful, but they are also filled with extreme obsession and madness." Robert's tone was tinged with sadness, "I once saw a breakthrough who, in order to break through to the divine realm, betrayed his family and killed countless innocent lives." In the end, although he succeeds, he completely loses his humanity and becomes a cold and heartless monster."

"It taught me that strength isn't everything." Robert's voice became firm, "In that world, many people lost their souls for power and eternal life, lost their essence as human beings." I didn't want to be that person, but I also knew that if I wasn't strong, I wouldn't survive."

"So I started to find a balance." Robert continued, "I try to stay true to myself in my practice and not let my inner darkness completely take over my thoughts. I refuse to use evil practices to strengthen myself, even though it makes my practice more difficult and dangerous."

Ethan nodded. He understood Robert's choice. In such a world full of temptations and dangers, it is undoubtedly extremely difficult to maintain your own boundaries.

"Eventually, I met an old man who was a reclusive practitioner." There was a hint of warmth in Robert's voice, "The old man taught me that true strength comes from inner peace and steadfastness, not from outside power and violence." He taught me how to find light in darkness and how to keep my heart pure in the pursuit of strength."

"Under the guidance of the old man, I began to truly understand the meaning of spiritual practice." Robert's voice is deeply grateful, "Practice is not only about strength, but also about finding your true self in this challenging world, finding your own peace and harmony."

"In the end, I managed to push my limits and reach the pinnacle of my dreams." Robert's eyes gleamed with determination, "But I also realized that the world could no longer hold me back." I decided to leave that world and come back to reality to find my true life."

Ethan felt a shock. He never thought he could experience such profound growth and transformation in his dreams. Robert's story made him feel a new kind of strength, the power to overcome the darkness of the outside world through inner firmness and peace.

"Robert, your story is incredible." Ethan whispered, with deep admiration in his voice. "It's amazing that you found your true self in a dream."

Robert smiled, a twinkle of tenderness in his eyes, "Ethan, everyone's dreams are unique, they are a reflection of his heart. You too can find your own path if you believe in yourself and the light within you."
