Chapter 24: Chapter 23 Ethan
Ethan and Matthew leave the Valley of the Stars on a new journey. They were walking through a thick forest, where the sun shone on the ground through cracks in the leaves, bringing warmth and peace. Despite the thrilling events they experience in the Valley of Stars, both understand that their journey is far from over.
In order to supplement their food and resources, they decided to hunt some animals in the forest. Matthew expertly set up a simple trap while Ethan watched, feeling a familiar surge of power through his body.
"We need to be careful. There may be dangerous wild animals in this forest." Matthew said, his eyes flashing with alarm.
Ethan nodded, focused, ready for any contingency. Soon after, their trap succeeded in catching a hare. Ethan went up to retrieve the prey and suddenly felt the forces within him become more active.
He watched the hare and thought of the change he had felt in the Valley of Stars. He decided to give it a try to see if anything had changed in his abilities.
"Matthew, keep an eye on it. I want to try something." Ethan said, his eyes shining with experiment.
Matthew nodded and stood guard to make sure there was nothing dangerous around him. Ethan concentrated, feeling the surge of energy in his body as he reached out and pooled his blood in his palm.
This time, Ethan felt the blood become more stable and firm in the air. He tried to shape the blood into various shapes and found that it was sharper and deadlier than before. He felt a rush of excitement and decided to experiment further.
Over the next few days, Ethan and Matthew conducted several experiments in the forest. Ethan discovered that his abilities were not limited to blood, he was also able to clot the fluid around him. Whether it is water or any other liquid, he can solidify it with his mind and shape it into various shapes.
"This is amazing! Ethan said excitedly, "I can control the form of the liquid, which gives me more options to fight."
Matthew smiled and nodded, "It seems that your experience in the Valley of the Stars has further awakened your abilities." This will be an important force in our journey ahead."
Ethan tries to coalesce the current around him into a sharp blade of water and finds himself able to use it for an attack. He was also able to shape the current into a defensive barrier, protecting himself and Matthew from harm.
"It's incredible." "My abilities have become more diverse and powerful," Ethan says.
"Yes, it will make us more comfortable with the challenges ahead." Matthew said, his eyes filled with confidence, "We need to continue to train and hone your abilities to become more stable and stronger."
Ethan and Matthew spend a few days in the woods, Ethan experimenting and training his new abilities. They hunted some animals, replenished food and resources, and further improved Ethan's fighting skills and control.
However, Ethan still has one idea in mind that has not been realized, that is, can coagulate the animal's blood.
"Matthew, I want to try a new experiment." Ethan said to Matthew, with a determined gleam in his eyes.
"What do you want to do?" Matthew asked curiously.
"I wanted to see if I could coagulate the animal's blood so there would be more options in battle." Ethan explained.
Matthew nodded. "That's a good idea, but you have to be careful not to overexert yourself."
Ethan took a deep breath and walked over to a freshly caught hare. He reached out, concentrating, and tried to coagulum the hare's blood into a sharp weapon. Despite his best efforts, the blood vibrated only slightly, but it could not clot.
He tried several times unwillingly, but failed every time. Ethan felt a twinge of frustration, a flicker of anxiety and unease in his eyes.
"Don't worry, Ethan. It takes time." 'said Matthew soothingly.' You've come a long way. '
Ethan nodded, but it was hard to calm down. He thought of the real world waiting for his childhood sweetheart Elena, her injury and self-inflicted difficulties made him feel deep remorse and pressure.
"Elena..." Ethan whispered to himself, his mind picturing her face and their time together.
The thought made Ethan feel a strong rush of emotion, and he decided to try again, he had to succeed. He walked towards the hare again, concentrating all his spirit and strength in an attempt to coagulate the blood into a weapon.
This time, he felt the power in his body surge violently, as if all the energy in his body had been extracted. His vision became blurred, he heard a buzzing sound in his ears, and his body began to shake.
'Ethan, look out! Matthew sensed something was wrong with Ethan and rushed forward to help him.
But Ethan had fallen into a state of delirium, and his consciousness began to blur, as if the whole world was spinning. His body couldn't handle the violent energy fluctuations, and he eventually lost his balance and fell heavily to the ground.
In the last moments of his unconsciousness, Ethan felt as if he were being pulled by some invisible force, and his consciousness was slipping into darkness. He heard Matthew's cry go further and further away, and the scene around him faded away.
In the last moments of his unconsciousness, Ethan felt as if he were being pulled by some invisible force, and his consciousness was slipping into darkness. He heard Matthew's cry go further and further away, and the scene around him faded away.
When Ethan wakes up again, he finds himself still in a mental hospital bed, his limbs firmly tied to the bed, wearing restraints. He tried to turn his head and saw that the walls around him were white and flawless, and the air smelled faintly of disinfectant. His body could not move, and he felt a sense of helplessness and panic.
"How can this be..." Ethan mumbled weakly and tried to break free, but his weakness prevented him from doing anything.
Suddenly, the door opened and a woman in a nurse's uniform came in. She had a smile on her face and a gentle twinkle in her eyes.
"You're awake, Ethan." The nurse whispered, going over to the bedside to check on him.
"I... Why am I here?" Ethan asked, trying to calm himself.
"You are in a mental institution, your previous behavior is erratic, and you need to be restrained to be safe." The nurse explained, "Now, you need to rest and recover slowly."
Ethan felt a pang of weakness, and he knew he needed help to continue. "Please give me some sleeping pills, I need to rest."
The nurse shook her head, her voice still gentle but firm, "I'm sorry, Ethan, we can't just give you drugs. You need to see your doctor, who will decide on your treatment."
Soon after, a middle-aged man entered the room, dressed in a white doctor's gown and with a professional and concerned look in his eyes.
"Ethan, I'm your attending, Dr. John. We need to understand your situation so we can better help you." 'said Dr. John, sitting down in a chair by the bed.
"I just want sleeping pills. I need to rest." Ethan asked, pleading in his eyes.
Dr. John frowned, thought for a moment, and then said, "Ethan, you're in an extremely unstable state. To ensure your safety, we need to know more about your state of mind."
Ethan nodded helplessly, knowing he had no other choice. Dr. John took out a pocket watch and began to shake it gently. "Ethan, relax. Follow the motion of the pocket watch and slowly enter a state of deep relaxation."
Ethan tried to concentrate, but he felt his consciousness constantly resisting. Despite his efforts to follow the rhythm of his pocket watch, his mind seemed bound by an invisible force, unable to enter a hypnotic state.
Dr. John tried several times, and a cold sweat began to break out of his forehead, "Ethan, you seem to have a strong resistance to hypnosis. You have a very special state of mind."
Suddenly, Ethan's eyes became empty and cold, as if he were a different person. His voice was low and cold. "Do you think you can control me? You are so naive."
Dr. John stepped back in amazement, a flicker of fear and unease in his eyes. He realized that Ethan was not the man he knew.
"Ethan, what's wrong with you?" Dr. John asked tentatively, a hint of tension in his voice.
"I'm not Ethan." Ethan's voice was still cold, and there was a light in his eyes that didn't belong to him. "I am another being deep inside him, a force you can't understand."
Dr. John felt a chill, a situation beyond his understanding and control. He quickly pressed the emergency button in the room, and a few moments later, several nurses and security guards rushed in.
"Quick, get him under control!" 'Dr. John ordered eagerly.
Nurses and security guards quickly stepped forward and tied Ethan firmly to the bed again. Ethan's eyes gradually returned to normal, and his body went limp.
"What's going on here..." Ethan asked weakly, his eyes full of confusion and fear.
Dr. John took a deep breath and tried to calm himself. "Ethan, you're in a very unstable state of mind. We need more time and more specialized treatment to help you."
Ethan closed his eyes and felt a wave of weakness and despair. He knew he had to find a way to control his mental state, or he would be stuck in an asylum forever.
Ethan closed his eyes and felt a wave of weakness and despair. He knew he had to find a way to control his mental state, or he would be stuck in an asylum forever. His thoughts were interrupted, as if he heard Dr. Lin's voice ringing in his head.
"Ethan, this is the second medicine you need." The voice was cold and calm, as if it were an everyday thing.
Ethan opened his eyes and saw that he was still in the tiny hospital room, the white walls and the iron bed around him made him feel a little depressed. He knew that Dr. Lin could not be here, that all the voices and visions were his own imagination.
He picked up the vial from the table next to his bed, the second medicine Dr. Lin had given him earlier. He took a deep breath, filled with ambivalence and hesitation. He knew the drugs could lead to a more painful experience, but he had no choice but to try and find a way out.
He shook his head, trying to compose himself. Then he opened the bottle, put the small pill into his mouth, and swallowed it. The taste of the medicine was bitter, as if it were burning in his throat. A moment later, he felt a terrible headache, as if countless needles were piercing his head.
'Ah! Ethan could not help but groan in pain, and his hands gripped the edge of the bed, his knuckles white with force. He felt the muscles all over his body twitch, as if a powerful electric current were running through his body.
His vision began to blur, and the walls of the room seemed to press against him, twisted and frightening. His breathing became rapid and his heart beat violently, as if it would pop out of his chest at any moment. He felt an indescribable fear, as if he were being held by an invisible hand from which he could not free himself.
Ethan's body trembled violently, and he felt his consciousness drift away, as if he were sinking into a bottomless abyss. So many visions flashed before his eyes that reality and dreams became so intertwined that he could not distinguish between the real and the unreal.
He found himself in a dark forest, surrounded by tall trees and thick thorns. There was a low growl and rapid footsteps in my ears, as if something terrible were approaching. He ran as fast as he could, trying to escape the forest of terror, but no matter how he ran, the voices continued to follow him.
His breathing was getting faster and faster, and his heart was pounding as if it were going to jump out of his chest. He felt a sharp pain, his legs felt like they were heavy with lead, and every step became extremely difficult. He knew he had to keep running or he would be captured by some unknown monster, but his body was reaching its limit.
Suddenly, his feet slipped and he fell heavily to the ground. The trees around him seemed to laugh at his powerlessness, and a ghostly laugh echoed through the air. He struggled to get up, but his body wouldn't listen, as if he were being held down by invisible forces.
"You can't get away with this, Ethan." A cold voice rang in his ear, a voice full of mockery and cruelty.
Ethan felt a wave of despair, knowing that no matter how hard he tried, he could not escape this forest of terror. His consciousness began to blur, and the vision became distorted and blurred. He felt himself falling into a bottomless abyss, and the darkness around him seemed to swallow him up.
In extreme pain and fear, Ethan's consciousness gradually dissipated and he fell into darkness.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself still lying in the tiny hospital room, surrounded by white walls and iron beds. He felt weak all over, as if he had just been through a life-or-death battle.
His mind became confused and his consciousness began to fade. His mind was filled with countless broken pictures and sounds, as if there were countless selves struggling in different times and Spaces. He felt himself gradually losing his grip on reality, as if he were trapped in an endless maze.
Ethan's eyes glazed over, staring empty-eyed at the ceiling. He felt that he could no longer think, that all his memories and perceptions were blurred. His body gradually relaxed, as if he had given up the struggle and sunk into a state of numbness.
He began to mumble, his voice low and vague, as if he were talking to himself. "Is it real, or is it a dream? Where am I? Who am I?"
His mind gradually became disorganized and he could no longer distinguish clearly the things around him. It was as if his consciousness had been pulled by invisible forces and plunged into chaos.
Time seemed to lose its meaning in Ethan's world, and he did not know how long he had spent in this chaos. His body stiffened, as if he had lost the signs of life. His eyes had lost their sparkle, and his gaze was staring empty ahead, like that of an abandoned puppet.
In this endless darkness, Ethan's consciousness gradually dissipated, like a wisp of smoke, disappearing into the endless nothingness. He no longer felt pain and fear, only endless emptiness and silence.
Ethan's body was still lying on the bed in his hospital room, but his soul was trapped in an abyss from which there was no escape. Reality and dreams intertwine in his world, and eventually dissolve into an endless darkness.
