Fantasy Wolf Psychosis

Chapter 15: Chapter 14 Mental patient

Ethan gradually regained consciousness, feeling his body tightly bound and unable to move his limbs. He struggled to open his eyes and found himself in a strange room with cold white walls and the smell of disinfectant in the air. He looked down and saw himself bound in a straitjacket, apparently mistaken for a psychopath.

"Where is this? Ethan whispered to himself, his mind still echoing with the chaos and madness of his dreams. He tried to struggle, but the restraints kept him from moving.

The door suddenly opened and a middle-aged man in a white lab coat walked in, his eyes deep and his face with a professional smile. With a folder in his hand, he walked up to Ethan and sat down.

"Good morning, Ethan. I'm the psychiatrist here. My name is Howard." The doctor's voice was gentle and steady, as if trying to calm Ethan's emotions.

"Where is this? Why am I here?" Ethan asked warily, his eyes flashing with confusion and unease.

Dr. Howard smiled and replied, "You are in a mental hospital. We found you to be very unstable while you were outside, so we brought you here for observation and treatment."

Ethan's memory gradually returned, and he remembered the things that had happened in the dream, the crazy battles and uncontrollable forces. His mind was filled with doubts, not knowing whether all this was a dream or real.

"I'm not crazy, I know what I've been through!" Ethan said excitedly, trying to free himself from the straitjacket.

Dr. Howard signaled Ethan to calm down with a wave of his hand. "I know how you feel, Ethan. We're just trying to help you. Now, I'd like to try a method that might allow you to better understand and recall recent events."

Ethan frowned. "What do you want to do?"

Dr. Howard took a pocket watch from his pocket and slowly waved it in front of Ethan's face. "I want to try to hypnotize you and remind you of a recent experience. That way we can help you better."

Ethan stared at the pocket watch and felt a strange drowsiness. His eyelids grew heavy and his consciousness began to fade.

"Relax, Ethan, relax. You are in a safe place now, and no one will hurt you." Dr. Howard's voice became low and rhythmic, as if he were guiding Ethan into a deep state of relaxation.

"Think back, Ethan, and tell me what happened recently." Dr. Howard continued, a touch of hypnotic power in his voice.

Ethan's mind began to wander, and blurred images began to form in his mind. The scenes of dreams, the moments of battle and madness, flashed before his eyes like lights.

"I... I saw a forest... There's a powerful witch out there who wants to control me..." Ethan's voice became low and hoarse, as if he were whispering in a dream.

"Very well, go on, Ethan. What do you see?" Dr. Howard led gently.

"I... I ran through the forest, trying to escape from her... But she caught me... She hurt my friend with her dark powers..." There was a tinge of pain and anger in Ethan's voice.

"And then what, Ethan? How did you escape?" Dr. Howard continued, his eyes shining with keen interest.

"The power inside me exploded and I went crazy and couldn't control myself... I remember, I attacked her... But in the end, I was struck down by a powerful force..." Ethan's voice grew fainter, as if recalling the painful experience.

Dr. Howard listened quietly and waited for Ethan's voice to subside before speaking slowly, "Ethan, you've been through a lot, and I feel your pain and struggle. Now, I want to ask you a question, which world do you prefer? The dream of danger and battle, or the real world we live in now?"

Ethan paused, his eyes wandering around the room with mixed emotions. He thinks of the crazy battles, mysterious powers, and confrontations with Kalvina in his dreams, but he also thinks of his warm home in the real world, his childhood sweetheart Elena, and his caring Dr. Lin.

"I... I don't know." Ethan whispered, a little lost and confused in his voice.

Dr. Howard nodded gently and said gently, "This is normal, Ethan. You've been through so much, it's hard not to feel confused. Now, I want to help you sort through those memories so you can better come back to reality."

Ethan looked up, his eyes tinged with hope and doubt. "What do you want to do?"

"I want you to let go of those memories and treat them like a special dream." "This will help you adjust better to real life and feel calm and normal again," Dr. Howard explains.

Ethan frowned, conflicted. He knows that the experience in his dreams is so real, as if it were another world, but the family and friends in the real world are the ones he values.

Dr. Howard continued, "You have a choice to make, Ethan. Continue to be haunted by those dreams, or let go of them and focus on real life."

Ethan was silent for a moment, then finally nodded. "I'm willing to try."

Dr. Howard smiled. "Very good, Ethan. This is the right choice. I will help you gradually forget the things in your dreams."

He began to perform a mild hypnotic technique that guided Ethan into a state of deep relaxation. "Now, close your eyes, breathe deeply, and relax your body and mind. Imagine yourself in a peaceful garden, surrounded by sights you know and love."

Ethan followed the doctor's instructions, closed his eyes, took deep breaths, and gradually felt a sense of calm and comfort. His mind began to float, as if he were really in a beautiful garden.

"Very good, Ethan. Now, imagine that the images in those dreams gradually become blurred and dissipate like smoke. They stop bothering you and fade into the depths of your memory."

In Ethan's mind, those fierce battles and dark forces began to blur, as if obscured by a mist. He felt a sense of relief, as if a weight had been lifted from his heart.

"Your home is in the real world, where your family and friends are waiting for you." Dr. Howard's voice was gentle and firm, a guiding light that brought Ethan back to earth.

Before Ethan's eyes came Elena's warm smile and Dr. Lin's concerned eyes, and he felt a warmth and comfort. He knew that the real world was where he should really value it.

Just as Dr. Howard was about to perform the final hypnotic procedure to erase Ethan's memory, Ethan suddenly came to consciousness. He suddenly opened his eyes and realized that he was in a hypnotic state, trying to erase his important memories.

'You can't! Ethan let out a roar, struggling with all his strength from the straitjacket. His body swung forward, straight at Dr. Howard, his hands gripping his collar, his eyes gleaming with madness and determination.

"You can't make me forget! Those memories are so important to me!" Ethan bellowed, anger and despair in his voice.

Dr. Howard is taken aback by Ethan's sudden outburst and tries to break free, but his strength is clearly no match for Ethan's. Ethan's eyes lit up with fanaticness, and his hands gripped Dr. Howard's throat as if they were about to strangle him.

"Ethan, calm down! Calm down!" Dr. Howard struggled so hard that his voice became hoarse.

The nurse outside heard the noise, rushed in, saw the scene, and immediately pressed the alarm button. A few moments later, several security guards rushed in. They quickly wrestled Ethan to the ground and injected him with a powerful sedative.

Ethan felt a sharp pain and weakness, and the vision gradually became blurred. His consciousness began to drift, and the final image was of Dr. Howard's frightened face and the busy figures of the nurses.

"You can't make me forget... Can't..." Ethan murmured, his consciousness slipping into darkness.

When Ethan wakes up again, he finds himself in an even tighter room, his limbs tied tightly to the bed. His mind was still filled with fragments of those dreams, but he knew he couldn't let them be erased.

His mind was still filled with fragments of those dreams, but he knew he couldn't let them be erased. His heart was filled with a firm determination that he must find out the cause of both worlds, whether the people there were false, and also find the cause of another personality in his body.

"I can't give up like this," Ethan said silently in his mind, with a determined gleam in his eyes. "Whether my friends in that world are real or not, I will find out the truth."

He struggled hard to free himself from the restraints, but they were too tight to shake. His mind kept flashing images from those dreams, Kalvina's smile, Carruth's sacrifice, Leah's tears... That's what keeps him going.

Just then, the door was gently opened and a nurse came in, followed by a haggard woman in a white lab coat. Ethan recognized Dr. Lin. Her face was bruised and tired, but her eyes still shone with concern and determination.

"Dr. Lin..." Ethan whispered, with a touch of surprise and mixed emotion in his voice.

Dr. Lin walked over to the bedside and motioned for the nurse to unshackle Ethan. The nurse hesitated, but did so under Dr. Lin's steady gaze. Ethan, feeling his hands and feet free again, tried to sit up, but his exhaustion and pain slowed him down.

"Why are you here?" Ethan asked, a look of doubt and gratitude in his eyes.

Dr. Lin sighed lightly and sat down in a chair beside Ethan's bed, "I heard you were sent here, worried about your condition, and asked to see you." Ethan, do you know what you've been through?"

Ethan's eyes glowed with complexity, and he nodded slowly, "I know I've seen a lot of strange things, that world... That dream, they're all so real."

Dr. Lin nodded, "I understand your confusion. Those dreams you experience may be caused by some kind of intense mental stimulation that keeps your consciousness wandering between two worlds, or even gives you a second personality."

Ethan frowned, his mind full of questions, "Why is this? Why do I have memories of two worlds and that crazy personality?"

Dr. Lin was silent for a moment, as if pondering how to explain, "Ethan, our research has found that the human brain sometimes develops a self-protective mechanism under extreme stress. Your second personality may be part of this mechanism to help you cope with emotions and memories that you can't handle."

"But why is that world so real?" Ethan asked, his eyes full of longing and incomprehension.

"That's what we've been working on," Dr. Lin explained, "and we think that it could be some deep memory or desire in your subconscious that is triggered to form a complete dream world." The dream world is so real that you can't even tell reality from fantasy."

Ethan was silent for a moment, his heart still full of contradictions and confusion. "I have to figure it all out, whether that world is real or not, I can't give up." Those people are so important to me, I can't just let them disappear."

Dr. Lin smiled with a warm glint in his eyes, "Ethan, I appreciate your determination. We will continue to study your case and do our best to help you find the truth. But you must promise me to stay calm and not to let yourself get on the edge of madness."

Ethan nodded and looked at Dr. Lin gratefully. "Thank you, Doctor. I will try to control myself and find the truth."
