Fairy Tail: Strongest Creature

Chapter 285: Battle with Dragons

Atlas Flame staggered to its feet, red scales bristling. "You—human! I haven't time for words. I will slay you…and every last dragon-slayer here!"

With a roar, it spat a searing stream of draconic breath toward Su Yan. Buildings crumbled around them.

Su Yan sprinted through the inferno, mace crackling in hand. He leapt onto the dragon's snout and brought his full weight down on its skull.

Boom!

Atlas Flame screamed in agony, its head crashing into the ground as blood spurted from the wound.

"Does it hurt?!" Su Yan taunted, raising the mace again.

Furious, the dragon sprang to its feet and lunged—tail lashing, claws gouging at Su Yan. He tumbled through ruins for dozens of meters before rolling to his feet, unscathed.

Onlookers gasped. The wyrm that had withstood every guild's magic now writhed under Su Yan's blows.

"You wounded me, human! Prepare to die!" Atlas Flame roared, charging again.

Their clash shook half the city—each mace strike echoing like thunder. No one else dared approach; even the fiercest warriors knew they stood no chance against this monster.

As Su Yan pressed his assault, the smaller drakes and wyrmlings scattered among the streets caused havoc. Kagura rallied her comrades to fight them off, but human magic only dented the hatchlings before draining their energy.

A green wyrm sneered at Gajeel. "Dragon-slayer…yet still too weak." With a swipe, it sent him tumbling through the air.

Sting and Rogue attacked the white dragon Scissor Runner in unison, combining their Dragon Slayer breaths into a swirling blast of light and shadow. Scissor Runner countered with an icy gale, and when the explosion cleared, both mages lay bruised amid the rubble.

"Humans are lowly," Scissor Runner proclaimed. "Steal but a fraction of dragon power, and you think yourselves equal? You are merely our slaves…and our food."

Sting struggled to his knees. "Humans possess intelligence, courage, and loyalty…qualities no dragon can steal!"

Rogue rose beside him. "The cold-hearted guild no longer defines us. We fight for each other!"

Elsewhere, Laxus faced a rock-dragon whose brute force shattered pillars and arena walls. Panting, Laxus lashed out with lightning-imbued fists. "Onward!"

In the palace skies, Erza, Mira, and Wendy found themselves battered by Zirconis's relentless assault. Each time they rose to strike, the Emerald Dragon laughed. "Humans rebel against dragons—foolish creatures, all of you!"

Erza met his gaze, armor singed but spirit unbroken. "We may be weaker…but we are not fools. To know our limits and still stand…that is true courage. And the outcome is far from decided."
