Fairy Tail: Kyoka Suigetsu

Chapter 6: Chapter 6: First Mission

First Mission

"Suigetsu, you are truly amazing to be able to take down Laxus..."

While I'm eating some snacks from the guild, a person about the same age and height as me suddenly sits down and engages in conversation.

This is no other than my biological sister, Cana. I only stare at her blankly and ponder for a while, perhaps thinking how to deal with her.

To be honest, in my previous life I often fought with my older sister. I hate her to the point I wanted to kill her, but I didn't want to sever the connection between us; at least I cannot. It becomes part of me during my growth, probably due to being intimate when we were young...

Which becomes a reason? When I think about it, I'm probably being unreasonable. It's not like I hate her, but her accomplishments in life and expectations of people surrounding us become the reason for my hatred.

Now my situation is quite ironic...

I sigh helplessly to myself and turn my focus on my sister. I'm not planning on revealing that I'm her brother and going as far as to protect her secretly.

Just like I said before, I still inherit my feeling from a previous life, and we are not close to the point I'm going to concern myself in her affairs. As a matter of fact, in my previous life, once upon a time, I wished for the destruction of the world. But at least in here I don't think it's necessary for now...

I put my thoughts at the back of my head. Look away from Cana and reply to her bluntly.

"If you are hoping to get pointers from me to become stronger, give it up. I hate girls, especially girls like you... You are too ugly." I even go as far as to borrow Marin's words. "You are not qualified! Not qualified at all!"

Without looking at her, I pointed my index finger at her forehead and gently pushed her away...

"Uhm..."

I could tell she's about to cry. I'll tell you now, beating children and making them cry is my specialty. I'm even willing to go as far as to steal their snacks.

Just then, before Cana could speak, someone interrupted us and acted like a hero. "Hey, you are going too far!" This person is no other than Gray Fullbuster.

"What are you going to act as a hero? Put some clothes on first."

"Ah!? When!"

I just ignore his blabbering and glance at Cana; she still has teary eyes but is suppressing her urge to cry while clenching both of her hands into her chest.

'Oh? It's my first time seeing someone put some resistance...'

"Hey, don't ignore me!" It didn't even take a while for Gray to come back and pick a fight with me again.

Sigh... Things won't just end well.

"Are you asking for a fight? Did you want me to cast Tsukuyomi on you?"

I take a bite on his provocation, not that I'm going to cast it. I'm quite strict when it comes to rules. Now that I join Fairy Tail, at least I will abide, although not completely, little by little. Facing my threat, Gray unknowingly took a step back.

"What's wrong with getting scared?"

"!?"

Perhaps he couldn't stand my provocation; he took a fighting stance where he clutched his hand and put it on his palm. It's his stance to cast his favorite magic, Ice Make...

I'm not to be outdone; I stretch my left hand and throw a backhand, hitting his face. I didn't apply much force, but it's enough to send him flying and become a laughingstock of the guild.

"Hahaha, Gray got defeated!"

"Of course, Suigetsu even beat Laxus; Gray didn't stand a chance at all."

"Hey, kids, don't fight inside the guild!"

Makarov, who watched the scene from start to finish, scolded us, but his words only went through my left ear and immediately got out of my right ear.

I'm not some 8-year-old kid experiencing getting scolded for the first time. This is nothing at all.

Once he is done with his blabbering, I glance around the commission quest and read everything.

It's more about high-paying, but what I'm interested in is not money. I already have many; I robbed it from dark guilds, not only money but also magic books. Although they were small, there was still a huge amount of loot.

"Let's see... I guess I choose this."

Quest is to help an old lady in chopping wood. A simple D-Rank. I know what you are thinking: why choose a D-rank when I can complete an A-rank or even S-rank mission?

The reason for me hunting dark guild is merely entertainment to bring fear and terror towards dark guild; also, it's a first step to get myself accustomed to killing in this world.

I have already killed plenty of them; it's enough, although what I witness in their activities is merely the tip of the iceberg. I can at least prepare myself mentally whenever I encounter something unexpected.

When taking an S-class mission, no matter how strong you are, you could lose your life at any moment. Besides SS-rank, 10-year and even 100-year missions evolve from being low-level quests. If you start at the wrong line, you could skip a lot of things. Besides, I've been isolated for 10,000 years and wandering around for 3 years.

Other than occasionally talking to order some food and asking for directions or rumors about dark guilds, I never really engage in society. I understand the consequences of skipping the fundamentals and experiencing it firsthand.

I pick up the commission and head towards President Makarov. Of course he notices my actions and observes me; perhaps he understood my intention? But I feel like he is planning something annoying.

"President, I'm going to take this quest... I show him the D-Rank mission I just picked up."

He stared at Quest and me meaningfully before giving his approval.

"Go ahead; be careful on your way."

I nodded at him and departed from the guild.
