Chapter 32: [32] King of Heroes, You're the Trash!
"You dare lecture this king?"
Gilgamesh looked at the man with utter disdain.
A stranger appearing out of nowhere, claiming to be his teacher—no one would believe such nonsense.
Though young, he carried an innate air of transcendence and superiority.
This was the King of Uruk, two-thirds divine and one-third human, bearing the bloodline of the Sky God Anu!
Nameless replied calmly, "I can teach you how to be a proper king, one who leads his people to prosperity."
"But I refuse! I, Gilgamesh, love saying 'no' to self-righteous fools like you! What right does mere trash have to instruct this king?"
Gilgamesh showed no courtesy whatsoever.
Even though the red-caped man before him exuded an aura of mystery and strength, carrying the presence of a visitor from another time and space—
None of it earned even a shred of his respect. Instead, he looked at the man as if he were a tiny insect waving its limbs.
Countless viewers watching burst into laughter—
-[Hahaha, the classic "denial before acceptance" is coming!]
-[Why does the young King of Heroes seem so edgy and foul-mouthed?]
-[Is Nameless out of his mind? Trying to be the King of Heroes' teacher???]
-[I love the King of Heroes the most—his wealth is beyond counting!]
-[Do you really love him? Don't make me laugh! You lust after his riches—how shameless! I lust after his body—at least I'm honest!]
...
"As expected, given the King of Heroes' pride, there's no way he'd agree to accept someone as his teacher!"
Mordred took a bite of a roasted potato, swallowing it with an expressionless face.
These days, Gawain had been preparing potatoes for her in every conceivable way.
At first, they were somewhat tasty, but even the most delicious food becomes tiresome when eaten too often.
Now, she was practically traumatized at the sight of potatoes!
The Knights of the Round Table insisted she had to endure this for over a year to see results.
Out of adherence to the knightly virtue of "Honesty," Mordred decided to trust these noble and reliable knights.
Back then, it was these very knights and Nameless who had helped her grow stronger at an astonishing pace.
"Mo, care to make a bet?"
The radiant and virtuous Sun Knight Gawain smiled at her.
Mordred shot him a sidelong glance. "Bet on what?"
In their last wager, she had refused to believe Nameless was real—only to be proven wrong by the video. As a result, she was now bound by the bet to eat potatoes for a year.
The King of Knights always criticized her for not being a qualified knight.
This time, Mordred was determined to prove him wrong—she meant what she said!
"It's simple. I believe the King of Heroes would regard Nameless as his most important mentor or closest friend!"
Gawain grinned with radiant cheerfulness. "If I lose, you won't have to eat potatoes for a year, and I'll even help you find Nameless, plus handle your official duties for a year! If I win, you'll eat potatoes three times a day!"
An incredibly tempting bet!
"I…"
Mordred wasn't entirely sure.
In the previous episodes, "The Avenging Witch" and "The Perfect King," Nameless had performed exceptionally well.
But the King of Heroes had once declared that he had only one true friend—Enkidu, the Chains of Heaven.
No one else was worthy of being called his friend!
"Fine, I'll take your bet, you potato fiend!"
After a moment's hesitation, Mordred finally nodded in agreement.
Right now, she was eating potatoes twice a day—what was one more meal?
Take a gamble, and a bicycle might turn into a motorcycle!
If she won, she wouldn't have to eat potatoes, wouldn't have to slog through piles of paperwork, and could enjoy an easy year!
The video continued.
"You love calling others mongrels. Here's the problem—you, who are two-thirds god and one-third human, are a mongrel yourself!"
Facing the King of Heroes' contemptuous scolding, Nameless looked at him with a faint smirk. "People always crave what they lack the most!"
The moment these words were spoken, the entire scene fell silent.
"You mongrel, how dare you insult this king?"
Gilgamesh froze for a second before glaring at him in fury.
And it wasn't just him.
The previously excited spectators were all stunned—
-[Holy shit, Nameless actually dares to insult the King of Heroes to his face?]
-[Gilgamesh, with his divine king bloodline, was terrifyingly powerful even in his youth, unlike Jeanne d'Arc or King Arthur who were relatively weak in their early years!]
-[The modern King of Heroes is wise and virtuous—why does this version feel so different from what we know?]
-[I think I understand why the Epic of Gilgamesh portrayed the King of Heroes as a tyrant now…]
-[Damn, Alaya's exposure this time is too intense—I wonder how the King of Heroes will react after watching this video!]
-[Are they about to fight?]
...
Facing the enraged king.
"I'm not insulting you—I'm just stating a fact!"
Nameless remained utterly calm: "Your mother was a god, your father was the king of Uruk, so you're neither a pure-blooded human nor a pure-blooded deity. Did I say anything wrong?"
"You… who the hell are you?"
Gilgamesh glared at him furiously.
A mere ordinary human, daring to insult him to his face—he was on the verge of unleashing his wrath.
The power of the divine king Anu's bloodline surged around him, radiating violent energy.
If unleashed, it would annihilate everything in its path!
Yet.
Nameless paid no heed to his rage, instead rebuking him with even greater disdain: "Heavy is the head that wears the crown! As a king, you've failed to ensure your people live prosperous, fulfilling lives—do you even deserve to be called a king?"
The King of Heroes was already domineering enough.
But this nameless heroic spirit was even more audacious, chastising the king to his face, one scathing remark after another!
"You… this king… I…"
Gilgamesh had intended to crush him with his fury.
But then he glanced around.
Countless people were suffering from horrific famine.
In this terrible disaster, everyone was gripped by terror, believing it to be divine punishment.
Even their reverence for him, their king, had vanished.
Every last one of them was praying to the gods!
All of this proved that what Nameless said was absolutely true!
Nameless pressed on: "What, nothing to say now? The gods' punishment making you feel unworthy of being king?"
"Are you some lackey of the gods?"
Gilgamesh suppressed his boundless rage, his voice a strained hiss.
This was what he could least tolerate.
His people believed the gods had deemed him unfit to rule, thus punishing them all.
And an even greater catastrophe was coming!
"Hahaha, how could I possibly be a mere lackey of the gods?"
Nameless suddenly burst into laughter. "They're not worthy! I've never believed in gods—only in one truth: man can conquer heaven!"
His crimson cape billowed dramatically.
In that moment, his arrogance knew no bounds.
-[666, is this really Nameless?]
-[You think you're arrogant? I'll show you arrogance!]
-[Damn, this is the first time I've seen someone out-arrogance the King of Heroes!]
-[Gotta admit, he's pulling it off yet again!]
...
"He really just insulted him to his face like that?"
Roya's jaw dropped.
This was beyond audacious!
The first person to ever insult the King of Heroes to his face had appeared!
Just how furious would the King of Heroes be after watching this video now?
Gulp~
Roya took a sip of ice-cold cola to steady her nerves, a bold thought flashing through her mind:
"Is this video exposing the King of Heroes' dark past—a public execution of his reputation?"
