Chapter 27: Chapter 27: She's Such a Rogue!

Take, for instance, how Du Sheng treated his "cousin."

Perhaps because of her young age, he seemed to view Liu Yifei more as a little girl than as an equal peer.

Yet when it came to the two maids—Liu Tao and Wang Yi—his interactions carried a hint of playful banter, even bordering on flirtation.

This left Liu Yifei with mixed feelings.

Especially when, during a casual dinner conversation the night before, she had asked an innocent question. Du Sheng had glanced at her and answered matter-of-factly:

"Too small."

At that moment, Liu Yifei felt her teeth grind in frustration. She wanted nothing more than to grab her "cousin" and demand:

"What's too small?"

"Not at all!" Wang Yi retorted, taking off her jacket to reveal her usual straightforward nature.

"I just ran into him by chance while practicing horseback riding. And unlike some people, I'm not shamelessly clinging to him."

It was no secret within the crew that Du Sheng was garnering significant attention.

Alongside the producer, the directors, and leads Hu Jun and Lin Zhiying, he was quickly becoming one of the most talked-about individuals on set.

Liu Tao finished her bowl of soup in one gulp, licking her lips with satisfaction.

"Du Sheng really is impressive. Sure, he's young, but he's handsome, talented, and can even cook. One day, he might even become an action star and be a big help in the industry."

"True," Wang Yi added, her tone tinged with a trace of longing.

"He's definitely better than that Li Weimin guy you met last month."

Wang Yi's words held a pragmatic edge, though they quickly turned realistic:

"Still, we girls need to value our youth and looks. If we're going to date, it should be with someone like Lin Zhiying or Hu Jun—big names who can elevate us."

Liu Tao tilted her head, clearly disagreeing:

"I think it's more important to be happy with the person you're with. No need to overthink it."

Wang Yi shook her head firmly.

"Love might not be bought with money, but it sure as hell is sweeter with it. Without wealth or fame, what happens when bad luck strikes? You think anyone's sticking around for that?"

Her perspective, while blunt, reflected her cautious view of life.

Liu Yifei hesitated before interjecting:

"Yi Jie, everyone has their own way of living. Isn't it okay to follow your heart rather than rigid principles?"

Wang Yi gave her a puzzled look, wondering why Liu Yifei was suddenly so defensive of Du Sheng. Nonetheless, she stood by her opinion.

"Relationships are like investments—always pick the blue-chip stocks.

"Like you, Liu Tao. Chatting with some random architect on a plane and catching feelings? Absurd!"

Liu Tao rolled her eyes.

"I just found him interesting, that's all. We didn't even exchange numbers, let alone confirm anything."

Wang Yi wasn't convinced and teased,

"No kissing either? I don't believe it! I'll have to check!"

Before Liu Tao could react, Wang Yi lunged at her, tickling her mercilessly.

Caught off guard, Liu Tao burst into uncontrollable laughter, writhing on the bed and pleading for help:

"Yifei! Save me! Hahaha! I'm dying here!"

Liu Yifei, her youthful mischief awakened, joined the fray—targeting Wang Yi with gleeful vengeance.

The scene devolved into chaos, with all three women tumbling over each other on the bed, their giggles filling the room.

"Stop! Stop! I surrender!" Wang Yi finally gasped, utterly overwhelmed. Even her most sensitive spots hadn't been spared, leaving her flushed and weak.

She hadn't expected the usually composed and graceful Liu Yifei to have such a spirited side.

"How embarrassing," Liu Yifei muttered, her face flushed as she quickly adjusted her disheveled clothes.

Despite her shyness, she couldn't help but smile at the rare camaraderie.

The trio lay sprawled on the bed, catching their breath and exchanging amused glances. It was a moment of unguarded intimacy, free from the usual constraints of industry and status.

"Alright," Liu Tao said after a while, turning to Wang Yi.

"What about Du Sheng's thermos? Should we return it?"

"Tomorrow," Wang Yi replied lazily.

"It's too late now, and I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea."

Still, she added wistfully:

"But honestly, if we were in the drama, and Du Sheng's Murong Fu had all that status and charm, I wouldn't mind…"

"Yi Jie! How shameless!"

Liu Yifei's heart skipped a beat, her thoughts thrown into turmoil.

"What's shameless about it?" Wang Yi retorted playfully.

"It's human nature!"

Liu Tao shook her head, pulling Liu Yifei aside:

"Don't listen to her. She's just dreaming."

Wang Yi smirked, brushing off the accusation:

"Call it what you want, but you'll understand once you've had 'deep interactions' with someone special."

Liu Tao shot her a glare.

"Don't corrupt Yifei with your nonsense!"

Wang Yi leaned back with a sly grin.

"Life's about making yourself happy. Men only value what they have to fight for!"

"Ridiculous!" Liu Tao muttered, patting Liu Yifei reassuringly.

"Don't let her fill your head with nonsense."

Still, Liu Yifei was left wondering.

Her gaze drifted to the thermos on the table, and she said softly,

"I'll wash this. Du Sheng put in so much effort—it'd be rude to return it unclean."

"Suit yourself," Wang Yi said, her tone teasing. Then, with a mischievous glint in her eyes, she added:

"By the way, Yifei, did you know a woman's hands can do more than just clean thermoses?"

"What else?" Liu Yifei asked innocently, tilting her head.

Wang Yi mimicked folding a paper airplane with a cheeky grin.

"What does that mean?" Liu Yifei blinked, utterly baffled.

Liu Tao, however, nearly exploded.

"Wang Yi, stop corrupting her! You're a rogue!"

"Hahaha! If I'm a rogue, then what does that make you for understanding?" Wang Yi cackled, collapsing into laughter.

Liu Tao was fuming, but her indignation only fueled Wang Yi's amusement.

As for Liu Yifei, she remained utterly confused, still wondering:

"What did she mean by that?"

She really didn't get it.
