The plan had been meticulous. Each Avenger and Earth's finest, including the Dragon God himself, Aiden, had a designated target. Coordination. Teamwork. Overwhelm and eliminate—one by one.
But Thanos had never intended to play by Earth's rules.
The moment his gauntlet shimmered, the Space Stone pulsed—and the battlefield fractured.
A flash of blue tore across the ruined skyline—and just like that, Earth's champions were scattered like chess pieces hurled from the board.
The battlegrounds had changed.
Not by their design… but his.
...
The cold metal walls creaked slightly as Iron Man hovered in mid-air, repulsors glowing, scanning for any exit. The room was tight—too tight. A sealed industrial storage hangar, with rusted crates stacked up to the ceiling. No windows. No doors. No signal.
"JARVIS…?" Nothing. Static. Even Friday's systems gave no response.
"Of course. No signal. No exit. No backup…" Tony muttered. "Perfect."
Suddenly—CLANK. A crate exploded against the far wall.
Then another—levitated, spinning mid-air like a puppet on strings.
Tony turned just in time to see a third container rise, twist—and hurl toward him at breakneck speed.
He boosted up, dodging the steel coffin as it smashed into the wall behind him, turning into shrapnel.
"Telekinesis?" Tony narrowed his eyes.
A smooth, chilling voice echoed from the darkness.
"You are out of your element, Toni Stark. Surrounded. Isolated. Small. Just how I like my prey."
A pale figure emerged from the shadows, floating just inches above the ground—robes flowing like mist in zero gravity. Ebony Maw.
"You may possess machines, but I possess will...and your mind will soon belong to me."
With a flick of his fingers, every object in the room levitated—hundreds of crates, beams, bolts, and plates.
Iron Man raised his arm, priming every weapon system."Well, this is gonna suck."
The room exploded into motion.
...
"THANOS!! WHERE ARE YOU!?" Thor roared, thunder swirling around him as he turned in a full circle, trying to gauge his location.
It was no place he recognized—no sky, no sun, only darkness... and a dense, suffocating fog that blanketed everything. The air was thick with static. With intent. Something ancient. Something cruel.
His instincts screamed—DANGER.
He spun—but too late.
A silver spear carved across his shoulder. The cut wasn't deep—but the pain was monstrous. He staggered back, clutching his arm, the thunder flickering in confusion.
"GHHH—what in Odin's name—!?"
From the mist stepped a figure—tall, graceful, eyes glowing like twin voids. Proxima Midnight. Her wicked grin glinted like her spear.
"Did that sting, little god?" she purred, twirling her weapon with ease.
Thor gritted his teeth, blood dripping down his arm.
"That was… nothing."
She smirked."Oh, but it wasn't the spear. It's what coats it. A toxin older than your pantheon. One made to kill gods."
Her stance shifted—feline. Predatory.
"Let's see how long the mighty Thor can stand."
...
Carol smiled softly as the scent of home-cooked food drifted through her perfect kitchen. The windows were wide open, sunlight pouring in, warm and golden. Laughter rang in the distance—familiar, comforting. She turned with a gentle hum, wiping her hands on a towel just as her husband appeared, wrapping his arms around her waist and placing a kiss on her cheek.
"Dinner smells amazing," he whispered.
Then, tiny footsteps raced across the wooden floor."Mommy! Mommy!" her children called, bright smiles on their faces as they leapt into her arms. Pure joy.
This—this was life. This was peace.
A voice as quiet as breath, yet sharper than steel whispered,"Dream… just a little longer, little star. It makes it easier for both of us."
Carol's body was floating—limp—hovering midair like a lifeless doll caught in invisible strings. Around her, the real world bled back in: rubble, cracked skies, war.
Floating just above her, with pale, corpse-like skin and a lithe frame cloaked in torn, dark royal fabric, was a tall, eerie woman. Her elongated face bore emotionless, glassy eyes that glowed faint blue, her hair flowing like mist in water. Her fingers twitched with psychic threads of invisible force, dancing over Carol's temple.
Her name?
Supergiant.
And Carol Danvers was under her control.
....
Wanda landed hard on a surface that shifted like sand but shimmered like broken glass. She looked around—the place was vast, wide open… a desert, but not of Earth. No comms. No voices. Just howling wind and silence.
"Valeria? Gwen? Damn it…" she hissed, tapping her earpiece. "Hello?!"
Silence.
She took a slow breath, hands glowing red with raw chaos energy. The emptiness put her on edge.
Then—a shadow.
A massive one.
She turned her gaze upward—and her eyes widened.
From the sky, a mountain of muscle and armor was falling directly toward her—Black Dwarf, arms raised, his hammer-like fists ready to crush.
She conjured a hex shield just in time—BOOM!
The impact was seismic. Her shield held, but the sheer force launched her backward like a cannonball. She flipped midair, landing with a grunt, sliding through the dust.
Black Dwarf stood where he landed, cracks in the ground beneath his feet. He cracked his neck and spoke in a deep, gravel-laced voice.
"I do not enjoy fighting those beneath me… Ebony Maw's sly plans often bear fruit. So as much as I'd have preferred a stronger opponent, I'll have to end you here, Prepare for death, Woman"
Wanda smirked as she stood, brushing dirt from her lips, eyes burning scarlet.
"You think I'm Weak, huh?" she said, red tendrils spiraling from her fingertips."Let me show you Chaos."
...
When Adam stood, the terrain beneath him was jagged—dark stone laced with ash. He floated upward for a better view, but saw no stars, no atmosphere, only clouds of swirling smoke and fragments of rock hovering in orbit.
"This isn't Earth…" he muttered. "A moon, perhaps? Or a remnant of a dead world…"
He looked around. There was no sign of Thanos, nor any Black Order general.
"Why send me here? Out of fear?" he pondered aloud.
Then—light.
A blinding, golden radiance burst behind him, illuminating the dead world. He turned quickly—and saw him.
A glowing figure of immense power, long golden hair flowing, a muscular frame clad in brilliant gold and blue. On his chest, the unmistakable "S".
The Sentry.
"You are Thanos' warrior?" Sentry asked, voice devoid of emotion. "My target, I assume."
Adam's eyes narrowed. "Thanos' warrior? How dare you! I am here to destroy Thanos! I stand with Earth and its defenders!"
Sentry didn't flinch. "The President warned me you would lie. That the Mad Titan's silver pawn would weave illusions. That your mind tricks were dangerous. I do not fall for them."
"Silver Pawn! I am a Pawn to no one! I am here to dest—"
But there was no listening.
The air cracked as Sentry slammed into the ground, creating a crater. He charged—Adam met him halfway—their hands locked, golden auras clashing in a fiery vortex of power.
...
In a quiet bunker, beneath layers of Earth and politics, President Valentina sat on a leather chair, sipping a crystal glass of aged bourbon.
Monitors displayed chaos above—space battles, scattered Avengers, displaced heroes.
She didn't flinch.
"I hope your plan works, Thanos," she said coldly, raising the glass to her lips again.
Her eyes burned with a strange serenity.
"A world without the Dragon God… is a better world."
The glass clinked.
And Earth's darkest traitor smiled.
