Chapter 70: Chapter 70: Krillin: Goku, You and Your Brother Are the Real Brothers-in-Arms!
As soon as Jack finished speaking, the Grand Priest and King Quan went completely silent.
King Quan had originally only chimed in because he was amused at how Jack had teased the Grand Priest. He didn't expect that the fire would suddenly turn toward him.
Now, he was caught in an awkward spot.
Whether he answered "yes" or "no," it wouldn't be appropriate.
So, he simply chose to remain silent.
Jack chuckled. "Alright, alright. While the Turtle Hermit may not live as long as some of you ancient monsters, in certain respects, his thinking is far superior."
Jack continued, "Instead of always worrying about why you didn't get something better, why not just be content with what you've received? That way, you won't always be so exhausted by disappointment."
Beerus nodded thoughtfully. "Lord Jack's teachings make sense to me. The lottery is already done, and there's no second chance. Even if you're not satisfied with the results, it's best to accept it and be grateful."
Champa couldn't resist a jab. "@Beerus, Beerus, you never miss a chance to flatter yourself, do you?"
Champa added dramatically, "@Group Leader Jack, Lord Jack, I will definitely etch your wise teachings into my heart!"
Beerus smirked. "You're no better. If you end up drawing something you're not happy with next time, I hope you remember what Lord Jack said today."
He paused, then added with a mocking tone, "Oops, I forgot—before you can get anything from the lottery, you have to actually grab a mission and earn a five-star rating."
Beerus gave a theatrical sigh. "Too bad you can't even complete the first step."
Champa fumed. "Hmph! Beerus, don't get too cocky just because you completed a mission! I swear I'll grab the next one!"
Beerus shrugged. "Sorry to burst your bubble, but I didn't just complete a mission. I completed a hidden mission."
He grinned proudly. "If you want to catch up with me, you'll need to trigger and complete a hidden mission too. And let me tell you—they're not so easy to come by."
Champa snapped back, "If you can trigger one, then I can definitely do it too!"
Meanwhile, Krillin looked at the leaderboard. "There are four people currently ranked on the Thugs List. No. 17 made it too, though he's in fourth place."
Krillin sighed. "Unfortunately, only the top three get rewards. Still, just getting on the list is already a huge accomplishment."
Beerus crossed his arms. "I may still be ranked number one, but as Lord Jack once said, you must never get complacent until the very end."
He added with determination, "So, I need to keep working hard—grab more missions and complete them flawlessly!"
Champa scoffed. "Beerus, I'm not going to lose to you! I'll overtake you and become number one on the Thugs List!"
Beerus chuckled. "Go ahead. It's nice to have dreams—even unrealistic ones. At least they give you a reason to keep trying."
Champa growled. "Why do you say it's unrealistic? I'll show you what I'm made of!"
Beerus replied calmly, "Your current attitude is commendable. I just hope it lasts."
He continued, "If you had shown this kind of determination in the past—focusing on training instead of eating, drinking, or sleeping—your power would be far beyond what it is now."
Then, with a slight smirk, Beerus said, "But I get it. When you've tried your best and still can't catch up, it's easy to give in to laziness. You're not the only one—it happens to everyone eventually."
Champa's face turned red with frustration. "Beerus! Don't get so full of yourself! Now that I've joined the Thugs Group, I have a real chance to surpass you!"
Goku, curious about the argument, jumped into the conversation.
"Hey, what's the relationship between Lord Champa and Lord Beerus?" he asked. "Why are they always arguing?"
Whis responded calmly, "@Goku, those two are just a pair of bickering brothers. You'll get used to it after seeing it a few times."
Goku's eyes lit up. "Oh! So Lord Beerus and Lord Champa are actual brothers? No wonder they're always quarreling! That means they must have a really close bond!"
Beerus exploded. "Who's close with him?!"
Champa snapped right back. "I'm not close to him at all! +1!"
Krillin jumped in with a chuckle. "Even if Champa-sama and Beerus-sama are always noisy, Goku, you and your brother Raditz were way worse."
Krillin added with a teasing grin, "When you two first met, you started fighting right away. In the end, you had to team up with Piccolo to kill him. Talk about a family reunion!"
Vegeta crossed his arms with a snort. "Hmph. That trash Raditz… he couldn't even handle weakling Kakarot. What a disgrace."
Piccolo frowned. "That's not fair, Vegeta. Goku gave up his life to kill Raditz. That wasn't a joke."
Krillin nodded. "Exactly. He paid the ultimate price. Besides, Vegeta, didn't you also kill Goku and the rest of us when you first came to Earth?"
Vegeta raised an eyebrow. "Did I? Let's see. Piccolo, Tien, Yamcha… they all died. Only Kakarot, his son, and you survived."
Krillin scratched his head. "Yep, and when I said 'we,' I meant me and Goku."
Vegeta narrowed his eyes. "@Krillin, ever since you got Saiyan blood, you've gotten a bit too full of yourself. Since there's no mission right now, why don't we train a little? I'll knock that pride down a notch."

Even though the group chat was filled with bickering and lighthearted arguments, Jack sat silently on the sidelines, amused by it all.
From where he stood, it was like watching kids on a playground.
Even gods of destruction and seasoned warriors couldn't escape the pettiness that came with competition.
Still, Jack admired their drive.
In the world they now lived in—one where missions, rankings, and performance evaluations determined power and status—every warrior had something to prove.
Some, like Beerus, thrived on maintaining their dominance.
Others, like Champa, clung to hope and stubborn pride.
Then there were those like Goku and Krillin—fighting not for dominance, but for growth, for excitement, and sometimes even for redemption.
Even Vegeta, with all his arrogance, had moments of vulnerability. Losing to Krillin in previous battles, watching others advance before him—it all chipped away at the pride he'd built for decades.
Jack knew very well: this wasn't just about strength anymore.
It was about identity, about legacy, and about earning respect—from others and from themselves.
