Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Moro’s Wish
While Moro didn't pose an immediate threat to Earth, uncovering what he had wished for using the Dragon Balls was vital. Only by understanding his plan could they prepare for the future and avoid falling into his trap.
The one thing Levos hated most was dealing with unexpected variables.
That Namekian boy needed to be prioritized for treatment.
"Let's bring him back to the others first," Levos muttered.
Lifting the unconscious boy into his arms, Levos prepared for an advanced form of training: teleporting while carrying another person.
Since he had never tried it before, he took extra care this time. He waited until the ki signature in his mind became clearer before activating Instant Transmission.
When he reappeared inside the cave, a rush of excitement surged in his chest.
Success!
He had officially mastered short-range teleportation with passengers.
While he still couldn't cross planets like Goku could, with practice, he was confident he would reach that level someday.
A fire burned in his eyes.
"Next, I'll try to gather all the scattered Namekians into one place."
This was both a rescue mission and a personal training exercise.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Levos appeared and disappeared across the landscape.
With each jump, his understanding of Instant Transmission deepened. His ability to sense ki became sharper and more precise.
Eventually, when Goku met up with him again, he was clearly surprised.
"Whoa! Why's this cave packed with so many Namekians all of a sudden?"
Levos didn't answer directly. "Mr. Goku, let's hurry up and transfer them."
Goku nodded. "That tightwad Jaco didn't follow me this time, so I can carry more people."
He hoisted over a dozen unconscious Namekians onto his back with ease.
Levos did the same, stacking seven or eight, including the Namekian boy, across his shoulders.
Goku blinked. "You too?"
"Everyone's here now. With me around, I can help move more at once," Levos said with a faint smile, placing a hand on Goku's back.
Saving the boy who knew Moro's wishes was crucial, and Levos also wanted to feel Goku's Instant Transmission up close again.
They reappeared inside a spacious, well-lit hall where rows of healing pods lined the floor.
The first batch of Namekians had already been submerged in translucent liquid, undergoing treatment inside the pods.
As they arrived, Levos spotted Jaco leaning against one of the pods, looking unusually serious.
"Jaco, prioritize this boy's treatment," Levos said immediately.
Jaco glanced up with a look of mild resentment. "You're paying for all this, you know."
"I thought the Galactic Patrol had the best benefits in the galaxy. It's just a few Namekians."
"A few?" Jaco shot him a look, then shouted to a nearby nurse, "Take this one to the specialists!"
He added with a grumble, "Just so you know, those healers cost ten times more than the pods. I'm covering it for now, but I will collect later."
Levos set the others down onto stretchers one by one as the nurse wheeled the boy into a private room.
He rubbed his nose and said sincerely, "When you come vacation on Earth, I'll treat you like a king."
Jaco groaned. "By the time I visit, Earth might not even exist anymore."
Levos leaned on his hand and sighed. Honestly, even he wasn't confident Earth could survive what was coming.
"Oh right. Jaco, I've got something on Moro that could earn you serious merit with the Galactic King. Should be enough to cancel out all the treatment costs."
Jaco's eyes lit up, but he quickly tried to act cool. "That depends. I'll need to hear what it is first."
"Moro's wish," Levos said casually. "The exact wishes he made using the Namekian Dragon Balls. But we'll need to wait until that boy wakes up."
And with that, Levos and Goku vanished again, leaving behind an excited Jaco.
Back on New Namek, Levos confirmed once again that he still couldn't perform cross-planet teleportation.
So much for copying the technique. He would definitely have to ask Goku for guidance next time.
For now, both Goku and Levos became full-time movers.
Fortunately, the Namekian population was small, just under two hundred survivors.
Before long, they had relocated all the remaining Namekians to safety.
After returning to the hospital, Levos reminded Jaco, "Hey, your ship's still parked on the planet. You gonna go get it?"
"Just bring me along when you return to Earth. I'm not leaving until I hear what Moro wished for," Jaco replied firmly.
Just then, the door to the treatment room opened. The Namekian boy stepped out, looking confused and disoriented.
"Where am I? Who are you people?" he asked, eyes wide with uncertainty.
"I'm Jaco, elite officer of the Galactic Patrol!" Jaco stepped forward proudly. "These two are Levos and Goku. The three of us saved you and your people."
"I'm Esca. Thank you… all of you." The boy gave a shy but sincere smile.
"Esca, there's something important we need to ask," Jaco said, barely containing his excitement. "What were Moro's wishes when he used the Dragon Balls?"
The boy's expression twisted with fear. Something terrible had clearly come to mind.
"His wishes… they were…"
"It's okay," Levos said gently. "Take your time."
Goku added, "No need to be scared. We'll beat him in the end anyway."
Still the same cheerful, naive Goku.
Levos wasn't so optimistic.
If Moro had simply wished to restore his peak magic, that alone would already be a huge problem.
Right now, there wasn't a single warrior on Earth capable of matching him.
And if he also wished for something like immortality or to become the strongest in the universe…
That would be a nightmare.
Levos pressed, "Esca, did Moro ask to have his magic restored?"
"I remember now!" Esca exclaimed. "His first wish was to restore his peak magical power. The second was for eternal youth and vitality. The third was to gain an endless supply of magic!"
Goku frowned. "Sounds like this guy's gonna be way harder to deal with than I thought."
Levos could only sigh.
Moro really went all in. Three wishes, all used to power himself up.
Talk about ruthless. He left no room for others to survive.
Thank the heavens for the Galactic Patrol. If not for them, Earth would already be doomed.
But… could Merus handle this?
Levos couldn't help but wonder where Merus was now.
Still, the most pressing task at the moment was reviving the Earth Dragon Balls.
He turned to Esca with a serious look. "Esca, do you know anyone in your tribe named Dende?"
