DOULUO: THE DRAGON GOD WITH GACHA

Chapter 71: DITIAN (III)

Ditian fell into deep thought. His lord, the Silver Dragon King, was alive, as was the Golden Dragon King. Even their child had not only inherited both their bloodlines but had also managed to cultivate the Dragon God's bloodline—a feat beyond imagination.

Moreover, this young lord, Lan Xuanyu, was the owner of this mysterious Wish-Granting Shop, an entity that transcended his understanding. Two once-dead goddesses, Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue, stood before him, not only alive but seemingly serving under Xuanyu. That alone was shocking enough.

And then there was the other man—Almight.

Ditian had never seen or heard of him before, yet his instincts screamed caution. Even though Ditian was one of the most powerful beings in the spirit beast race, he still felt threat from him.

All these realizations made Ditian more cautious about his second wish.

I cannot waste this opportunity. This is something that may never come again…

After thinking deeply, he took a slow breath and said, "Young lord, I do not wish for anything for myself. As you will be the future lord of all spirit beasts, please use my free wish chance for the benefit of our race."

Xuanyu's eyes flickered with surprise, but his expression quickly returned to its usual calm. He had expected Ditian to request something personal—greater power, extended longevity, or even a path to godhood. Yet, the Beast God had instead chosen to dedicate his wish for the sake of all spirit beasts.

Across the room, Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue exchanged glances, their eyes filled with silent acknowledgment. Ditian's loyalty to his race was unquestionable. Despite spirit beasts suffering under tribulations and natural limitations, he had never stopped fighting for their survival. Now, given the rarest of opportunities, he had chosen to invest it all in their future.

Almight let out a low chuckle, leaning back in his seat.

Xuanyu studied Ditian for a long moment before finally nodding. "Very well, Beast God. Since you wish for the betterment of spirit beasts, I shall grant it."

A soft, golden glow emanated from his fingertips as he continued, "I have already established the foundation for their godhood path. But with your additional wish, I will take it a step further."

Ditian listened intently, his golden eyes locked onto Xuanyu.

"Every spirit beast with a cultivation base above 100,000 years will have the chance to cultivate near or within the Myriad Race Blood Pond."

Ditian's golden pupils contracted sharply. The Myriad Race Blood Pond?

Even the others—Bibi Dong, Qian Renxue, and Almight—showed curiosity at the unfamiliar term.

Xuanyu nodded, his fingers lightly tapping against the armrest of his chair. "The Myriad Race Blood Pond is a heavenly wonder of my little world."

Both Almight and Ditian took note of his phrasing—"my little world." They tucked this revelation away for later consideration.

Xuanyu continued, "The Myriad Race Blood Pond contains the essence and remnants of countless ancient species—mythical dragons, primordial titans, divine phoenixes, and even beings from races long extinct or beyond mortal comprehension. It is not merely a body of water; it is a realm of rebirth, where evolution transcends its natural limits."

Ditian's breath hitched. "And you're saying spirit beasts will have access to this place?"

Xuanyu's lips curled into a faint smile. "Not just access," he corrected. "Every spirit beast with a cultivation base above 100,000 years will receive a chance to refine their bodies and bloodlines within the Myriad Race Blood Pond."

Silence fell over the room.

Qian Renxue's golden eyes flashed with intrigue, while Bibi Dong's expression remained unreadable. Almight, meanwhile, simply observed, as if processing this entirely new concept.

Ditian, however, felt his entire being tremble with excitement. This… this was beyond anything he had dared hope for.

"Lord Xuanyu…" His voice came out lower than he intended. "This means that…"

Xuanyu nodded. "Yes. Bloodline limitations will no longer be an absolute boundary for spirit beasts."

Ditian clenched his fists, his sharp nails digging into his palms. This… this is revolutionary.

For countless years, spirit beasts had been bound by their innate potential. Those born with powerful bloodlines dominated naturally, while others—no matter how hard they trained—could never surpass their limits.

But now…

"Any spirit beast that enters the Myriad Race Blood Pond will be given a chance to awaken their latent potential," Xuanyu explained. "Those with weaker bloodlines may undergo purification, while those with strong bloodlines could experience mutation, fusion, or even evolution into higher lifeforms."

Ditian's breathing grew heavier. His body felt hot, not from external heat, but from the sheer anticipation rising within him.

However, something still troubled him.

"...There must be a price," Ditian murmured, his gaze sharp. "A pond that can rewrite the very nature of a being—there's no way it grants such blessings freely."

Xuanyu's smile deepened.

"Clever."

Ditian stiffened.

"The Myriad Race Blood Pond does not simply grant power," Xuanyu clarified. "It is a trial in itself. While it provides the opportunity for transformation, the process is not without risk."

"Risk?" Ditian's expression hardened.

Xuanyu nodded. "The pond does not force evolution—it only creates the conditions for it. Whether a spirit beast successfully evolves depends entirely on their willpower, compatibility, and ability to withstand the transformation."

His golden pupils glowed faintly.

"If a spirit beast's body or soul is too weak, they may be rejected and expelled. If their willpower is lacking, they may lose themselves in the chaotic energy and suffer a backlash—crippling or even killing them."

Ditian's expression darkened slightly. "So only those with true strength in mind and body can truly benefit."

Xuanyu inclined his head. "Exactly. Evolution should not be granted—it should be earned."

Ditian exhaled, his emotions turbulent.

Even this condition was more than fair. The pond wasn't a shortcut to power—it was an opportunity. Those strong enough to endure the process would emerge transformed. Those unworthy… would suffer the consequences.

A true trial of fate.

"...How often can a spirit beast enter the pond?" Ditian asked after a moment.

Xuanyu tapped his finger against the table. "Once per one hundred thousand years," he answered. "Each spirit beast will only have one chance in their lifetime. They can stay within the pond for a maximum of five years—no exceptions. Even if they are on the verge of evolution, they will be ejected after that time."

Ditian nodded slowly. The balance was perfect—not too lenient, yet not impossibly harsh.

Then, suddenly, Xuanyu smiled.

"Besides, I am truly impressed by your dedication and loyalty to the spirit beast race," he said, his voice carrying an almost regal weight. "So I will allow you to cultivate in the Myriad Race Blood Pond whenever you wish, for however long you wish. No restrictions."

Ditian's heart skipped a beat.

"...I alone have this privilege?"

Xuanyu's gaze was steady. "Yes. Currently except for me, you are the only one who has unrestricted access."

Ditian lowered his head, his hands trembling slightly. This… this was beyond anything he had ever imagined.

"Thank you… my lord."
