"Feeling any better?"

Meng Hongchen gently patted Auspicious Beast's head as she asked. The girl nodded slightly. 'This human life envoy's partner… she's actually pretty gentle? Quite kind and easy to like too.' Auspicious Beast found her opinion of Meng Hongchen changing for the better.

On the royal suite's large bed, Meng Hongchen and Huo Yuhao sat on either side of Auspicious Beast, both watching her with genuine concern. Auspicious Beast, seated between them, seemed a bit stiff and awkward.

"Mhm."

Auspicious Beast gave a soft reply. As a child of over ten thousand years, she unexpectedly found herself enjoying the attention and care. How odd.

"What's your name?"

Huo Yuhao asked.

That question caught Auspicious Beast off guard. A name—right! Humans all had names. But what should she call herself? "Auspicious Beast"? "Three-Eyed Golden Lion"? That'd obviously be suspicious.

For a moment, Auspicious Beast looked dazed. What should she say?

"My name is… I don't remember my real name. I just vaguely recall my parents used to call me Xiao Rui."

She lowered her head and mumbled the words. Hearing this, Huo Yuhao and Meng Hongchen's eyes grew even more tender and concerned.

As for the name Xiao Rui… Di Tian did often call her that. And Auspicious Beast, born of nature and fate, didn't have any real parents to begin with.

"Alright, then we'll call you Xiao Rui too."

Huo Yuhao said softly. He hesitated but didn't press her about her past. After all, Xiao Rui still seemed unwilling to talk much. Her gem-like green hair and emerald eyes made it clear to Huo Yuhao that this girl's identity was anything but simple.

And Auspicious Beast truly was feeling a bit uncomfortable now. She hoped they wouldn't keep asking questions. Otherwise, she'd have to keep making things up. Though now that she was in human form, her mental acuity had definitely increased.

"Xiao Rui, do you know why your hair and eyes are such a brilliant green? It's very rare and very beautiful."

Meng Hongchen tried to lighten the mood with a different question. She was genuinely curious too.

In the Douluo Continent, one's physical features often correlated with the uniqueness of their martial soul and bloodline. The rarer the martial soul, the more distinctive the person's features tended to be.

While green hair and eyes weren't entirely unheard of, having such gemstone-like vividness as Xiao Rui's was extraordinarily rare.

Hearing the question, Auspicious Beast blinked. How should she respond?

"I… I don't know."

She shook her head with a confused look. She couldn't very well say she was the envoy of the Goddess of Life, transformed into human form under the baptism of life energy, and thus inherited those features, could she?

Huo Yuhao and Meng Hongchen exchanged a curious glance. This little girl, who looked about ten years old, really didn't seem simple.

Huo Yuhao followed up the question.

"Xiao Rui, do you know what your martial soul is?"

Auspicious Beast was stunned again. Should she continue playing dumb, or reveal a little more?

At first, she only wanted to mess with Huo Yuhao a little for making her go through so much. But now, she felt like she'd played herself into a corner. This image of an innocent, pitiful girl with a mysterious origin was already deeply etched into their minds. Who would believe she was actually a formidable Three-Eyed Golden Lion in disguise, already at the level of a six-ring Soul Emperor?

Someone of her strength—what need would she have to wander alone?

So… what now?

Her mind worked quickly. She wasn't quite ready to give up the fun of messing with Huo Yuhao just yet.

She stood up, turned to face the two, and after seeing their curious gazes, closed her eyes. A faint light appeared as her martial soul emerged.

The moment it did, both Huo Yuhao and Meng Hongchen widened their eyes in astonishment. On her forehead, a third eye—emerald green—opened slowly.

"That's..."

"And she doesn't have any soul rings..."

They murmured almost simultaneously. The lack of soul rings wasn't too surprising—if she had awakened her martial soul without any adults around, she wouldn't have undergone any proper cultivation.

But what shocked them was the nature of the martial soul itself.

The emerald green third eye emanated a potent aura of life force.

Within that life force, there was something deeper, more mysterious. Even though Meng Hongchen couldn't quite sense it, Huo Yuhao, with his spiritual sensitivity, could vaguely detect its complexity and power.

"Big sister, big brother… I think this is what you call a martial soul? No one ever taught me what it really is."

Auspicious Beast said softly, standing still as the two examined the mysterious third eye on her forehead.

In truth, that eye wasn't her martial soul at all. It was her own core—the true eye that housed her power of fate. After her transformation into human form and the baptism of the Goddess of Life, this eye had become the vessel of her life origin. Using it to fake a martial soul was more than convincing.

"It feels… so much like your life force, Yuhao. And that third eye..."

Meng Hongchen gasped, covering her mouth with one hand.

Huo Yuhao nodded slowly. That eye of Xiao Rui's gave off the same feeling as his own Creation and Destruction Eye.

"A possessor of life force… no wonder her hair and eyes are such stunning emerald green. Xiao Rui, do you know the name of your martial soul?"

She shook her head gently.

"Then, let's call it the Eye of Life for now. What a miraculous martial soul… I never imagined that in this world, someone could be born already attuned to the purest form of life energy."

Huo Yuhao couldn't help but sigh in admiration.

Xiao Rui tilted her head and asked carefully.

"Big brother… are there other soul masters in this world whose martial soul is similar to mine?"

Huo Yuhao laughed softly.

Wasn't he exactly that?

He took a deep breath and slowly opened his own Creation and Destruction Eye. From it, a swirl of green and purple light burst forth in chaotic waves, rich with life force.

Seeing and feeling it, Auspicious Beast was filled with an overwhelming sense of closeness.

It seemed... she had truly found the human life envoy she had been searching for.
