Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Ning Rongrong: "Yu Xiaogang, Are You Poisoning Us? Since When Are You So Kind?"
Yu Xiaogang was busy personally preparing breakfast for everyone, likely an attempt to salvage his reputation after Ning Rongrong's remarks the previous day.
"Grandmaster, you're up early," Yun Feng said as he stepped into the cafeteria.
Yu Xiaogang looked up and smiled warmly at Yun Feng.
"Come, Yun Feng, try my cooking. See how it tastes!"
Yun Feng didn't question why Yu Xiaogang had decided to cook or try to stop him. After all, why not make use of free labor?
Yu Xiaogang handed him a large bowl filled with rich, fragrant meat soup, accompanied by two steamed buns and two boiled eggs.
"Eat up. If it's not enough, help yourself to more. You're all at the age when proper nutrition is essential. A strong body is the foundation of cultivation. Without it, how can you endure higher levels of soul power?
"I thought a lot about your experience in the Star Dou Forest yesterday, especially absorbing a soul ring beyond your level.
"You succeeded partly due to your willpower, but also because of your robust physique. Many soul masters focus solely on cultivating soul power and techniques, neglecting physical training. While it may not seem like a problem now, it will inevitably hinder progress at higher levels."
Yun Feng took the breakfast and couldn't help but feel his appetite surge. The meat soup was evidently cooked for hours, the meat tender and infused with a subtle medicinal fragrance. Just a sniff made his stomach growl.
To his surprise, Yu Xiaogang's cooking was genuinely good—rich, flavorful, and hearty. Yun Feng enjoyed the meal, noting it was the most satisfying breakfast he'd had at Shrek Academy.
As he ate, the voices of Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong came from outside.
"Mmm, something smells good! Looks like we're in for a treat today."
Xiao Wu greeted Yu Xiaogang respectfully.
"Good morning, Grandmaster."
Yu Xiaogang nodded at her, though without the warmth he showed Yun Feng. After all, Yun Feng still held potential to be a disciple, while Xiao Wu had outright rejected him before.
Ning Rongrong, still groggy from being dragged out of bed by Xiao Wu, sniffed the air and slowly woke up. However, upon learning Yu Xiaogang had made the food, her expression turned wary.
"Yu Xiaogang, are you poisoning us or something? Why would you be so kind?"
Yu Xiaogang, initially ignoring her, couldn't hold back his irritation.
"If you think it's poisoned, don't eat it!"
Ning Rongrong smirked.
"Why not? I paid tuition!"
Yu Xiaogang was momentarily speechless. She wasn't wrong, after all.
With a cold snort, he retorted,
"Fine, you paid. But if you want to eat, serve yourself. I'm not bringing it to you!"
Yun Feng watched their childish argument with amusement, thinking how ridiculous it was for grown adults to bicker over such trivialities.
Yu Xiaogang then deliberately served Xiao Wu a smaller portion—one bun, one egg, and a smaller bowl of soup—citing her smaller appetite.
"Eat up. There's more if you need it," he said.
Xiao Wu, though annoyed, couldn't resist the aroma of the food and quickly began eating.
Ning Rongrong rolled her eyes, fetched her own serving, and joined them. Yu Xiaogang, seeing everyone enjoying the meal, felt a flicker of pride.
Watching them, he couldn't help but think, If I hadn't pursued martial soul theory, maybe I could've been a top-tier chef.
His satisfaction faded as he noticed some students were missing from the table.
He turned to Tang San and snapped,
"Tang San, go get the others! The food is ready, and they're still not here. Where are their manners?"
Tang San, already irritated, retorted,
"Teacher, are you blaming me for this?"
Realizing he might have overstepped, Yu Xiaogang quickly backtracked.
"No, no, of course not! I didn't mean it like that. Don't misunderstand me. Just go fetch them."
Though unconvinced, Tang San chose to endure for the time being. He grudgingly gathered the others, who initially complained about being disturbed.
However, after tasting the breakfast, their complaints turned to praise.
Everyone was impressed—except for Zhu Zhuqing, who returned from her training session indifferent to the commotion.
