Chapter 11: Alice, Adam's fiance?!

"Return to the Spiritual Realm and tell Adam to return home urgently," Emily whispered to Brad. To Alice, Emily simply said, "Follow me," and left the apartment with Brad by her side.

"I have something to attend to, I'll take my leave," Brad announced to both of them.

"No worries, my fellow student council member. Thank you for helping with Adam's belongings," Emily stated, subtly hinting to Alice to clear the misunderstanding.

Alice listened, still unconvinced about Emily's relationship with the handsome guy. As Emily and Alice turned to go down the staircase, Brad instantly transformed and vanished from the apartment, rushing across the rooftops at high speed.

Alice glanced back at the handsome guy, but he was gone. His sudden disappearance unsettled her, much like how Emily had vanished as soon as she opened Adam's apartment door. It wouldn't be possible for a girl to carry Adam, let alone move fast enough to disappear from sight. She recalled looking outside and searching for Emily with Adam, but no matter where she looked, it was as if they had vanished, just like the handsome guy. Alice wondered who exactly these people were.

"Just so you know, I'm actually Adam's childhood friend," Emily stated.

Alice snapped out of her thoughts. "I know, I've seen you a couple of times," Alice replied.

"You do? How come I have never seen you before?" Emily asked.

"You see the apartment beside Adam's?" Alice said, pointing towards the staircase. "That's my apartment. I've stayed there since before Adam moved in."

"So you're Adam's neighbor?" Emily stated, wanting to understand her relation to Adam.

"Fiancée! I've already told you before. Don't you remember the ring?" Alice spoke with frustration.

"Yes, I remember. However, I need you to calm down and explain. Adam and I are totally confused about the whole situation," Emily stated.

"Then let me talk to Adam later. I don't see why I need to talk to you when you abandoned him before!" Alice retorted, filled with anger.

"Abandon Adam?! Wait—" Emily tried to clarify.

"Please don't speak to me. I really don't want to speak to you. Just bring me to Adam," Alice said, growing more frustrated with Emily.

Emily, annoyed, knew her words would only make things worse. She simply kept walking toward her house. An awkward silence ensued as Emily walked and Alice trailed behind, clearly wanting nothing to do with Emily and only wishing to see Adam.

Meanwhile, Brad reached the Spiritual Realm and met with Adam. "Adam, you need to urgently return home. Emily is currently bringing Alice to your house," Brad stated urgently.

"Alice?! Who? Wait, I remember that name. How and why?" Adam's questions grew, not understanding the situation.

"As much as I want to explain everything, go now before they reach your home," Brad urged.

"Okay, I'll take my leave," Adam replied, understanding the urgency.

Adam teleported to his house just as Emily and Alice were reaching their doorstep. Adam opened the door to see Emily's annoyed face walking towards the house and Alice's face filled with worry. Alice rushed forward, bumping Emily, who stumbled, and hugged Adam tightly.

"I'm glad you're safe. I'm sorry I threw away the ring at you," Alice said, her hug tightening.

Adam was surprised by the sudden situation thrust upon him.
