DC HERO AT MARVEL

Chapter 178: Chapter 178 Sudden Change!

Realizing the critical issue, Eddie and Phil began breathing heavily, exchanging glances with expressions of disbelief.

Even though they had vaguely guessed the outcome, they still found it almost impossible to accept.

Would the steel soldiers really go rogue?

Justin Hammer, while sometimes a bit foolish, wasn't an idiot. In fact, he was an unusually clever person.

How could someone like him ruin his own future by doing something so catastrophically stupid?

Watching the steel soldiers behind Justin Hammer adjust their cannon barrels with a poised, ready-to-fire stance, Eddie and Phil found themselves speechless.

This was practically undeniable evidence!

Justin Hammer was about to get hammered—hard!

At this moment, the crowd around the stage erupted into thunderous cheers in response to Justin Hammer speech.

The steel soldiers' appearance was as shocking as Harry Osborn announcement that he would become a superhero to help New York citizens fight crime.

The atmosphere reached a boiling point.

The entire expo was hitting another climax.

No one realized that a massive crisis was looming, silently descending upon them.

"Do you know why I came to tonight expo?"

Suddenly, Anton spoke up.

His face held an amused smile as he continued to watch Justin on stage and the steel soldiers behind him.

He didn't even turn his head, yet he instantly caught Eddie and Phil attention.

"Why?"

Eddie and Phil asked simultaneously, their curiosity piqued.

"I came here to watch Tony get beaten up."

Anton chuckled. "The steel soldiers' target isn't anyone else—it Tony Stark. Don't worry, someone will clean up the mess."

"Tony Stark…"

Eddie was stunned.

He could tell Anton was well aware of the inside story.

"Oh, by the way,"

Anton added, glancing at Phil, "didn't you say you wanted to find an opportunity to make a name for yourself and officially debut? This is a good moment. Interested?"

"Of course!"

Phil perked up immediately, but his enthusiasm quickly deflated.

"Damn it! I didn't bring my gear!"

When Phil first got the Demon Suit, a modified version of the Green Goblin armor, he would carry it in his car wherever he went, as if New York could encounter a crisis at any moment, and he would heroically save the day as a superhero.

Just like his boss, who had transformed into a Batman-like figure to protect New York.

But Phil never expected that, apart from being sent undercover in the Bigfoot Gang, he would perfectly miss every single crisis during this time.

A few months ago, the closest Phil ever came to making his debut was right after sabotaging the Bigfoot Gang.

At that time, during the alien invasion of New York, Phil planned to ride Batman wave of popularity and make a grand entrance alongside Batman and Cyborg.

But to his utter shock, S.H.I.E.L.D. detained him, confiscated his gear, and only released him after the event was over.

Even his equipment was only returned after Anton personally called S.H.I.E.L.D. to demand it back.

Outrageous!

Since then, Phil was deeply discouraged but remained determined to find the right moment to appear in front of New York citizens.

After all, he realized that New York wasn't as peaceful as it seemed, and opportunities could arise at any time.

Yet after waiting for months, not even a ripple of trouble appeared in New York.

Damn it! Even minor incidents like robberies were handled by Daredevil or Spider-Man, leaving no room for Phil to shine.

Frustrated, Phil decided to leave his gear at home.

And as fate would have it, just a few days after leaving it at home… something happened!

"You've got to be kidding me," Phil muttered, almost in tears. "Boss, do you think I can make it back in time to grab my gear?"

"Forget it," Anton said, shaking his head.

Missed opportunities are on you!

"The steel soldiers are about to make their move," Anton said, narrowing his eyes at the stage. His expression grew slightly serious.

He gave instructions, "Eddie, make sure to get some photos later. Tony Stark getting beaten up—that the kind of news that deserves the front page tomorrow.

Phil, go clear the crowd. Get these people out of here and leave enough space for the steel soldiers and Iron Man to fight."

"Anton, why are the steel soldiers going rogue?" Eddie asked, unable to hold back his curiosity.

Seeing how well Anton seemed to understand the situation, he couldn't help but add, "Justin Hammer can't be that dumb, right?"

"Of course, it not Justin Hammer," Anton replied.

Anton said, "But do you really think Justin Hammer himself solved the steel soldiers' energy issue? Do you honestly believe Hammer Industries could crack a technology as advanced as the Arc Reactor in such a short time?"

"You mean... the one who triggered the steel soldiers' revolt isn't Justin Hammer but the person who cracked the Arc Reactor technology?"

Eddie suddenly understood.

Beside him, a deeply discouraged Phil had already given up on joining the conversation.

"Who is it?"

Eddie curiosity peaked, and he couldn't help asking further.

Boom!!

Just as Anton was about to respond, a figure descended from the sky and landed heavily on the stage in front of them.

It was a silver figure with a long, slender cannon mounted on its back.

From its appearance, it was nearly identical to Tony Stark Mark series armor, but everyone knew the person inside wasn't Tony Stark.

Tony was still seated in the audience.

"This is the armor we at Hammer Industries have poured all our efforts into creating," Justin Hammer announced proudly.

"The pilot inside is none other than Air Force Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes."

As he spoke, the silver figure, along with the steel soldiers behind it, saluted the audience.

From the crowd, Tony squinted, studying the armor Rhodes was wearing.

He could tell that many internal components and weapon systems had been replaced with Hammer Industries' own designs.

But still... it was hideous.

Tony smirked disdainfully.

Then came the follow-up.

"This armor is called War Machine. As the name implies, it was designed for real combat.

It equipped with Hammer Industries' most advanced weapons, including the armor-piercing Ex-Wife Missile as its primary arsenal."

"Of course, in addition to the armor-piercing variant, the Ex-Wife Missile comes in multiple models.

Affordable, versatile, with impressive range, precision, and power... no one can ignore Hammer Industries' Ex-Wife Missile!"

Justin continued his introduction, but Rhodes suddenly moved.

"Damn it!"

Inside the armor, Rhodes' expression changed drastically.

He realized he couldn't control the suit. On the virtual screen in front of him, the targeting reticle had locked onto someone in the crowd.

Someone he knew all too well!

"Tony!"

Rhodes shouted in alarm, his voice broadcasted through the suit external speakers.

"The suit is targeting you! Get out of the way—I can't control it!"

As he spoke, a sleek, compact missile emerged from his shoulder.

There was no doubt about it—this was Hammer so-called affordable yet unignorable Ex-Wife Missile.
