DBZ Goten : Become Stronger By Defeating Your Opponent

Chapter 174: Chapter 174: The Truth of That Year

"Can you still move?" Goten asked, a look of surprise on his face.

He had assumed that turning Granola into a chocolate ball would completely incapacitate him, but Granola still seemed capable of action. Majin Buu's technique wasn't as absolute as he had thought.

"You… what did you do to me?!" Granola's voice, filled with confusion and anger, came from the floating chocolate ball.

"It's nothing serious," Goten replied with a laugh. "I just turned you into a chocolate ball!"

Granola roared in frustration and charged at Goten at blinding speed, relying purely on physical momentum as his other abilities were unusable in this form.

Goten chuckled at the sight, sidestepping the charge effortlessly and catching Granola mid-flight with his hands.

"Let me go, you coward!" Granola shouted, wriggling in vain.

"Fine, fine," Goten said, laughing as he released his grip and returned Granola to his original form.

Granola stumbled backward, steadying himself. "You… you're letting me go?"

"Yeah," Goten replied nonchalantly. "What's the problem?"

Granola hesitated, suspicious. "Why would you spare me?"

Goten shrugged. "I have no reason to kill you. Besides, you're not my enemy."

Granola's face hardened. "I won't leave Earth until I've defeated you!" he declared, charging forward once again.

Before Granola could reach him, Goten's figure blurred. In an instant, he reappeared behind Granola, striking his neck with a single, precise palm strike.

Granola gasped in shock before collapsing unconscious onto the ground.

"Ding, congratulations to the master for defeating Granola and obtaining the golden right eye…"

"Instant… instant kill!" Krillin exclaimed, his voice echoing the disbelief of everyone present.

The opponent who had pushed Gohan and Piccolo to their limits had been defeated by Goten with a single blow.

Gohan clenched his fists tightly, frustration etched across his face. The gulf in strength between him and Goten was undeniable.

Goten glanced down at Granola's unconscious body and reverted to his base form.

Piccolo stepped forward, his expression serious. "Goten, you had the chance to finish him off. Why didn't you?"

Goten shrugged casually. "Let's wait and see."

"Wait and see?" Piccolo frowned. "That's a dangerous gamble."

Goten smirked. "Let's find out if he has any accomplices."

Not long after, a spaceship appeared in the distance, flying rapidly toward the battlefield.

"So, there are accomplices," Piccolo muttered, his eyes narrowing.

The ship landed, and a thin, elderly Namekian emerged, his face lined with concern.

"Granola!" the elder cried, rushing toward the unconscious figure.

"Piccolo, is he a Namekian?" Krillin asked.

"Yes," Piccolo replied, studying the newcomer intently.

The elder knelt beside Granola, checking his pulse. After a moment, he sighed in relief. "He's alive," the old Namekian murmured before turning to Goten and the others.

"My name is Monaito," the elder introduced himself. "I'm Granola's grandfather. Thank you for sparing him."

Goten nodded silently.

Monaito continued, his voice heavy with sorrow. "Granola has suffered greatly. When he was just a child, the Frieza Force and the Saiyans invaded our home, Planet Cereal. Everyone, including his mother, Muezli, was killed. Only Granola and I survived. That's why he harbors such hatred for the Saiyans."

"I see," Krillin said softly, his expression tinged with sympathy.

"But," Monaito added, his tone firm, "the ones who killed his mother weren't Frieza's army or the Saiyans. It was the Heeter Organization."

"The Heeter Organization?" Krillin repeated.

Monaito nodded gravely. "They're a mercenary group that worked with Frieza's forces."

Granola stirred, slowly regaining consciousness. He sat up, his eyes locking onto Monaito. "Grandpa… what did you say?"

"The ones who killed your mother were members of the Heeter Organization, not the Saiyans or Frieza's army," Monaito said, his voice steady.

Granola's face contorted in shock and disbelief. "I've been working for them all these years, and they're the ones who…?"

Monaito sighed. "I wanted to protect you from the truth. But now, I can't keep it hidden any longer. You deserve to know everything."

Monaito's expression turned somber as he recounted the events of the invasion.

"Back then, when Frieza's forces attacked, the Great Elder entrusted me with the Dragon Balls before he died. I hid at home, but a Saiyan named Bardock found me. He wasn't like the others. He brought Muezli and you to me, warning us that Frieza was planning to destroy the planet.

"Bardock, despite being a Saiyan, saved us. He said it was a strange impulse, something he couldn't ignore. He stayed behind to protect us, even as the Heeter Organization appeared and betrayed us."

Granola's eyes widened in disbelief. "Bardock… a Saiyan… saved us?"

Monaito nodded solemnly. "The Heeter Organization, led by Elec, attacked us. They killed Muezli without hesitation. Bardock fought against Gas, the strongest member of the Heeter Organization, buying us time to escape.

"Gas was relentless, but Bardock held him off, even as he sustained terrible injuries. Bardock made a wish on the Dragon Balls before the final confrontation. He wished for his children to grow up strong and healthy, a selfless wish for the future."

Monaito's voice grew quieter. "I helped Bardock as much as I could, but I couldn't stop Gas. Bardock fought him to the bitter end, refusing to let him harm us. I took you home and kept you safe, swearing to protect you no matter the cost."
