Cursed Empire: Rising against the gods

Chapter 13: Chapter 12: Blood and Bonds

(Flashback ten years ago)

In the Midblade Kingdom, there was a room that no one was allowed to enter. That room belonged to Prince Axel.

His father, older brother, and many servants knew that he enjoyed his isolated space. Many wondered what he did in his free time. People often asked themselves what the future heir to the throne occupied himself within his solitude.

But his interest was never normal to the common folk.

In his room, he practiced brewing various types of poison, crafting weaponry, and reading countless philosophy novels.

Some would say he was alone and never bothered to interact with people. But they didn't know that he had a friend.

A friend who has taken a liking to him over her parents. She found someone who truly appreciated her and understood her capabilities.

The same age as him, a fifteen-year-old girl with short black hair and purple eyes.

She was his only friend.

Their friendship is what people call...madness attracts love.

But to them, our delusion becomes the reality where we find happiness.

(Back to the present)

The two were on a hot pursuit along the coast. Axel already had to travel here before arriving at Neverport.

Finding the cave would be easy for him.

As they were traveling, they saw a group of knights on horseback heading towards Neverport.

Given their armor and the direction they were coming from. They are the royal army from Sungalepore. Not only that, it appears that the king is there with them.

Axel smiled and said to himself, "I hope you are ready, Becca." After he spoke, Ivy tightened her hold on him out of jealousy.

Axel calmly laughed and said to her, "You don't need to compete with anyone Ivy. You are number one for a reason." In response, Ivy pets his head with a confident smile.

(One hour later)

They arrived at the cave, which seemed like a smuggler's den. There were three ships present, and one was different from the others.

Inside they were loading goods and clothing onto the ships.

A thought crossed his mind, "We could steal two. Do you remember how to sail a ship?" He asked Ivy, who responded with a thumbs up.

He rubs her head and playfully squeezes her cheeks, "Okay, you know what to do. Give them hell pudding." Before she walked off, he gently tapped her behind, to which she responded with a sedative smile.

She wandered into the cave and pretended to be a wounded runway, "Who are you?" After Ivy caught the attention of one of the smugglers.

She dropped onto the floor and pretended to be passed out. Meanwhile, Axel was swimming towards the ship.

First, they needed to understand how many people were present before attacking.

"Dollface, are you okay?" A woman approached her and tried to reach her. Multiple people watched as she carried the seemingly unconscious Ivy in her arms and towards her friends.

The woman shouted, "WE GOT A RUNWAY! MOST LIKELY HER FAMILY ABANDONED HER OR SOMETHING!" The woman soon noticed a purple glare at her.

Ivy was not happy. Her eyes started to see her as her mother who looked at her with nothing but disgust.

The woman asked, "Hey are you okay-" But Ivy didn't hear that in her mind. All she heard was, "My unless daughter of mine. You will never understand what love is, you are nothing but a dog that followed the prince who-." Madness took over and without hesitation. Killed the woman who helped her with her claw hand.

The reaction was nothing but pure horror as she cradled the head in her arms with a sick smile on her face.

As she got up, after tossing the head in the waters. She dragged her claw right hand to the floor and started humming a song as she approached the people.

Her eyes stopped seeing normal people and only viewed them as white figures with black crossed-out faces.

When people thought they had enough on their plates. You could hear screams coming from the ships. Indicating that Axel already started his assault.

Ivy used the scream as a signal to attack. She dashed towards them and left no soul alive.

Many tried to fight back but were at a disadvantage due to them fighting a wild animal.

Many of the smugglers tried to retreat to the ships but were caught off guard by Axel. Giving them only one way out.

After a while, when there were no more bodies left for her. Axel appeared behind her and hugged her tightly, "You are perfect Ivy, your family won't take you away. I will make sure of it." He said as both were soaked in blood.

When she turned to look at him, she didn't see a white figure vision of himself. Rather, she saw Axel in all his glory.
