Cursed Bloodline: Awakened a Hidden Class in a Game World

Chapter 18: Turn

Zane slowly let the blood drip from the dagger, his eyes glowing red as he did.

He looked at the knight, who was still stunned by the way the muscular man had died right before his eyes. The knight gritted his teeth and rushed forward.

"You bastard, I'll cut you down!" he roared and attacked, sword swinging at full speed toward Zane's head. But Zane pulled back quickly and dodged the attack before rushing in and getting behind the knight.

The knight tried to react fast, but before he could even turn, Zane stabbed through his armor and into the knight's shoulder.

"Arghhhhhh!" the knight roared in pain. He tried to fight back, but Zane twisted the dagger and pushed it deeper. The knight cried in pain and collapsed to his knees.

"You are the strongest fighter in this city, yet somehow you managed to get taken down this quick," Zane said, his tone oozing with mockery.

"You bastard," the knight cursed, blood spilling from his mouth. His eyes were red as blood, and his veins bulged.

Suddenly, the knight gathered all his strength and mana, trying to channel it for one attack that would stop Zane, but all that went to hell the moment Zane spoke next.

"Don't let that stupid idea that you can stop me get to your head," Zane said with a smile and then ripped the dagger down so hard that it cut through the armor and rolled the shoulder clean off, disconnecting the entire arm.

"Arghhhhhhhhhh!" the knight screamed, sounding like a pig about to die.

The count watched this in horror, and when he saw that his strongest man was taken down that easily, he tried to run.

"Going somewhere?"

The count heard Zane's voice, cold and filled with mockery. He had barely taken a step when the dagger flew, stabbing into the count's thigh—deep.

Pain shot through the thigh and up the body immediately. The count screamed like a dying goat and collapsed to the ground.

"If you had stayed put, it would have been painless," Zane said. He grabbed the knight by the neck and snapped it with one hand.

He threw the body aside with no remorse and walked to the count.

The count tried to crawl away. He looked at Zane like he was the devil himself.

"Please stay away, please. I'll give you whatever you want—money, power, all of it. Please, just stop, I beg you," the count yelled, begging with everything he had.

"I'm sure the people that fight here every day also begged for their lives. I'm sure they did everything to plead and make sure they survived, but you didn't care.

I honestly don't care about them, but you should also be ready to face the fate they faced at any time. For he who kills by the sword will die by the sword—it's just the way the world works," Zane said. He was about to end it all, but suddenly, a black light shot through the arena, as small as a bullet, heading for the count.

Zane reacted fast and got in the way of the attack. The black light shot through his chest, blood spilled as he was thrown back and slammed into the wall.

Lucy felt the moment he was hurt. She pulled out her dagger from a man's head and ran toward Zane. Zane, on the other hand, was looking forward. His eyes were fuzzy, but he was looking for who had tried that. Then he spotted a figure in black slipping through the door they had come through.

'That's the person. I need to get them.' Zane tried to get up, but the pain in his body was immense. Lucy came to him and helped him up.

"Master, what happened?" she asked.

"Don't worry about it. Go after the person that left through that door and bring that person to me," Zane said.

She looked at the door, then vanished, running so fast he couldn't see her. Zane started taking deep and controlled breaths. The wound on his chest began healing at a visible speed, and after a few more seconds, it was fully healed.

He got on his feet, touched the place where the wound had been. The skin was as smooth as a baby's. He turned to look at the count, who was shivering there, fear written all over his face.

Zane simply grabbed the count by the neck, and though the count tried to struggle, it was met with too much strength. Zane snapped the neck and killed the count, allowing his body to drop to the ground.

[Special Event Completed: Savior of the Underground]

[Reward: Level Up, New Skill]

[New Skill: Flash – Increases speed by double during the day and triple at night for five seconds]

Zane read through the rewards for completing the event, and they were all insane, but in all honesty, they paled in comparison to the real reward here—and that was the two hundred bodies lying here, waiting for him to get their stat points.

He looked around. Lucy had massacred everyone, and this place had turned into a gruesome sight. But there was one person alive, standing there at the platform, frozen in fear—the young man who had been fighting the muscular man.

"Hmmmm." Zane looked at the boy, then jumped, landing right before him. The boy flinched and then went down on his knees.

"Please spare me. I was forced into this, taken from my family and everyone I love. I don't want to die knowing I'll never see them again—please," the boy begged. He trembled as he spoke because he was scared.

"I'll follow you—as a servant, as whatever you want. All I plead is that you spare my life," the boy begged even more.
