Chapter 41: ALL GONE
"Aaaaahhhh," Florah gasped at the sudden change of position.
Her heart beat wildly. She was unsettled by her closeness to the king. "Maste..."Feed me." Gavriel cut her off yet again.
Florah stared at him in bewilderment, 'Was he a child, why was he hellbent on making me feed him' Florah thought in frustration, but the sharp demanding gaze from the king left her no choice, not like she had one to begin with.
"Let me sit properly Master, so that I can feed you properly." Florah said, trying to put some logic into the man's head.
Gavriel brought his legs a little closer, grabbed Florah's knees, and held her waist to pull her closer to him, making her sit comfortably on his lap.
Florah's mouth and eyes hang open, gawking at the king in utter surprise, bewilderment, and embarrassment.
Not only was she forced to sit on the man's lap, but he had touched her inappropriately.
While she was still in shock, she heard his baritone demanding voice say, "The food is getting cold." Gavriel voiced his concern.
Florah wanted to wiggle her way out of the position she was in, but the King's tight hold on her waist made it impossible for her to even badge an inch.
Extending her hand towards the plate, she pulled the tray a little towards her for easy reach.
The scent of the delicious looking food was that much closer to her, making her stomach grumble in hunger yet again to heighten the embarrassment she was already immersed in.
She was sure that the king had heard it, but she ignored that fact and grabbed the cutlery to slice a piece of the well seasoned potatoes.
She turned towards the king with a fork in her hand. She brought it to his lips for him to eat, but he refused to open his mouth and instead just looked blankly at her.
Now she looked at him with a fork in hand, staring at him. 'Now What?' She thought in frustration.
"Did you poison my food?" Gavriel asked seriously.
Florah looked at the man before her like he had grown a second head. 'Why would l do that, and when?' She asked herself internally.
"I would never do that, Master," Florah answered, feeling wrongly accused.
"Then why wouldn't you taste it first?" The king asked
"I am sorry, your Maj.... Master, I didn't know that I had to do that." Florah apologised
"Now you know, taste it," Gavriel demanded.
Florah didn't want to taste the food because she knew the moment she ate something so little, it would be like a tease to her stomach for the hunger to intensify.
"Master, how would I have poisoned your food when I haven't left your side? Where would I have gotten the poison from?" Florah asked, trying to reason with the man.
"So you poisoned my food?" Gavriel insisted like he hadn't heard what she said.
"No, I didn't, Master." Florah's voice rose an octave, defending herself.
"Then why aren't you tasting the food?" Gavriel asked again.
As a response, Florah looked at the fork she was holding, and she directed it to the entrance of her mouth.
The moment she put the piece of potato in her mouth, Gavriel grabbed her cheeks with his hand, pressing her mouth open, Florah watched in slow motion as the King's face got closer to hers.
Her heart stopped when the King's lips met hers, Gavriel pushed his tongue in her mouth, prying them to open up more.
His tongue picked up a portion of the potato from her mouth to his.
He chewed it slowly like he was looking for something in it, swallowing. He looked at the girl glaring at him with a pink face.
The red-haired girl wanted to just dig a hole and die in it, her first kiss, her dignity all gone in a second.
She glared at the king spitefully. She wanted to strangle him right here and there.
"Hmmm, no poison," he said, satisfied.
He felt a glare balling a hole into his head, and when he looked at the girl, she kept glaring at him and as if realisation had hit her, she stopped looking at him and just looked down at her hands that had formed small fists.
He smirked, seeing how rattled she was, bending over to grab the whole tray, Florah quickly placed her hand over her mouth, thinking that he was gonna kiss her without her consent again.
But Gavriel just placed the tray on her lap and said, "Now that we are sure there isn't poison, feed me." He opened his mouth in anticipation.
Florah wished to be anywhere else, but here, this tragic day wasn't ending and kept on worsening by the minute.
