Bleach: I Have No Talent

Chapter 51: 49: Appearance Change

As they entered the small shop, Shiro noticed Naruto struggling to climb onto one of the large chairs. Without hesitation, Shiro picked him up and gently placed him on the seat.

Naruto's face turned red once again. "Yeah... thanks."

Just then, a young woman emerged from behind the curtain in the back of the shop. She was Ayame, the daughter of Teuchi, the ramen shop owner.

Ayame immediately spotted Naruto and started pinching his cheeks. "Ah, who's this?" she said with a playful smile. "My favorite customer. But didn't you say today that you'd come back tomorrow?"

Naruto winced and rubbed his sore cheeks. "Ow, ow, nee-chan, stop it! And I was invited by this guy," he said, pointing at Shiro.

Shiro watched the exchange with a smile, glad to see that at least someone in the village cared for Naruto.

Ayame paused and straightened up. "Okay, okay, I'll stop now," she said, before turning to Shiro. "I hope you don't have any bad intentions with Naruto."

Shiro waved his hand in a dismissive gesture. "Where? No one has better intentions than me."

Ayame raised an eyebrow but seemed to trust him. "I'll trust you," she said. "By the way, you're paying for Naruto, too."

She leaned in closer, speaking softly so Naruto wouldn't hear. "That boy can keep going after he's eaten 20 bowls."

Naruto blushed and his stomach growled again. "It... isn't true."

Ayame chuckled. "Yeah, right."

Just then, Teuchi, Ayame's father, entered the room. He was an older man with a warm smile and a friendly demeanor. "Okay, Ayame, don't pinch Naruto so much, or he'll die of hunger."

Teuchi turned to Shiro. "So, what will you have?"

Shiro glanced at the price tags on the wall and noticed that one bowl of ramen cost 50 ryō. "Give us 10 bowls of miso ramen," he said.

Teuchi nodded and went into the back to prepare the meal.

Shiro's face was covered in bits of noodles, and he wiped it with his hand. He was stuffed to the brim, having eaten not just five bowls, but a total of 20. Naruto, on the other hand, had matched him bowl for bowl, and his pants were so tight they looked like they might burst.

Ayame came over to the table and placed the bill in front of them. "The final price is 2,000 ryō for 40 bowls of ramen."

Shiro took out his pouch and pulled out a 40-ryō coin worth exactly 2,000 ryō. He placed it on the table, and after a few exchanged words, Ayame waved them off as they left the shop.

As Shiro and Naruto walked out, Shiro's mind wandered for a moment. He wondered about Teuchi's true identity—could he really be the Sage of Six Paths? After all, Teuchi was far more than just a simple ramen chef.

"When I get the Rinnegan, I'll come back and check it out," Shiro thought, with a smile. He and Naruto continued walking through the village when Naruto turned to him, his curiosity piqued.

"What's your name, and why are you helping me?" Naruto asked, his voice full of both skepticism and gratitude.

Shiro cracked his neck and replied, "I'm Shiro Uchiha. I owe you for something you did for me."

Naruto tilted his head, confused. "Are you from the Uchiha clan? And what did I do for you?"

Shiro gave a small, enigmatic smile. "Yes, essentially... I'm from the Uchiha clan. And as for the other question, I won't answer that."

Naruto nodded slowly, seemingly satisfied for the moment. "Now go home and get some sleep for tomorrow."

Shiro chuckled and ruffled Naruto's blond hair. "Of course not. Now go."

Naruto ran off, a slight skip in his step, leaving Shiro standing alone in the quiet streets, reflecting on the strange journey that had just began.

Shiro sighed deeply, the weight of his situation pressing heavily on his mind. He knew Hiruzen Sarutobi must have already caught wind of him by now. It wasn't like someone with as much power and mystery as Shiro could simply slip under the radar of Konoha's Hokage. Worse, Shiro had no real identity in this world, no legitimate background to protect him. If the Hokage deemed him a threat, the most likely outcome would be torture, interrogation, or worse.

The thought of Yamanaka Inoichi using his mind-based ninjutsu to pry into Shiro's mind sent a shiver down his spine. Shiro had secrets—secrets that were too dangerous to reveal, secrets that didn't belong in this world.

Yet, despite the danger, Shiro hesitated to leave. He didn't want to abandon Naruto so soon. The boy reminded him of himself in ways that hit too close to home. Leaving him alone felt... wrong.

As he mulled over his options, an idea formed in his mind. Perhaps the Uchiha clan could help him. They were powerful, influential, and fiercely protective of their own. If he could convince them that he belonged, perhaps he could gain their support—and their protection.

Without wasting another moment, Shiro activated Shunpo, his body flickering through the streets of Konoha at lightning speed. But after a few minutes, he came to an abrupt stop, realization dawning on him.

Where is the Uchiha compound, anyway?

With an exasperated sigh, Shiro approached a nearby villager, his Sharingan hidden to avoid drawing unnecessary attention. "Excuse me," he said, his voice polite but firm. "Could you tell me where the Uchiha clan compound is?"

The villager looked at him warily, then pointed to the east. "Follow the main road until you reach the large iron gates with the Uchiha emblem. You can't miss it."

Shiro nodded in thanks and made his way east. It didn't take long before he stood before the imposing gates of the Uchiha compound. The gates were made of black iron, intricate and strong, with the Uchiha emblem proudly displayed above them: a circular crest resembling a fan, red at the top and white at the bottom, symbolizing the clan's mastery over fire and their unyielding spirit.

Two guards stood at the open gate, their backs adorned with the same emblem. Their sharp eyes immediately focused on Shiro as he approached.

Taking a deep breath, Shiro walked up to them. "Can I go inside?" he asked casually, though his tone carried an edge of authority.

One of the guards raised an eyebrow. "Why don't you have the clan emblem on your back?" he demanded. "And why are you out so late? All civilians are supposed to be inside by now."

Shiro gave a sheepish smile, feigning embarrassment. "I was walking through the village earlier and accidentally spilled grease all over my clothes. They were ruined, so I threw them away and bought new ones. That's why I don't have the clan emblem on me."

The guard frowned, clearly skeptical. "That's a convenient excuse."

Before he could say more, Shiro activated his three-tomoe Sharingan, his crimson eyes gleaming in the dim light. "And now," Shiro said coldly, "you're going to let me pass, aren't you?"

The guards exchanged uneasy glances. While they were still doubtful, the undeniable proof of Shiro's Sharingan forced them to step aside.

"Go ahead," one of them muttered reluctantly.

Shiro smirked inwardly. "Well, that was easy," he whispered to himself as he walked past them and into the compound.

The Uchiha compound was eerily quiet, the silence broken only by the faint rustling of leaves. Shiro scanned the area, his eyes falling on the largest house in sight. It had to be Fugaku's residence.

As he walked, Shiro thought of a way to solidify his story. Opening the System Shop, he checked for any items that could help make his lie more convincing.

He continued scrolling until something caught his eye:

Shiro purchased it without hesitation. A screen appeared before his eyes, asking for customization details.

"I want to look a bit like Madara Uchiha," Shiro said aloud, "but not exactly. Shorter hair, and... a younger look. Something that could pass for a descendant."

A tingling sensation spread across his body as the transformation began. His features sharpened, his hair grew darker and styled itself into a spiky, slightly disheveled look. His eyes now had a natural intensity even without the Sharingan activated. His overall presence exuded power, making him look unmistakably like someone of Uchiha lineage.

With his new appearance, Shiro approached the house and knocked on the door. After a moment, it opened, revealing a young boy with jet-black hair and onyx eyes.

It was Sasuke Uchiha, no older than Naruto. His innocent yet serious expression made it clear he was trying to act mature, though his small frame betrayed his age.

Shiro knelt down, meeting Sasuke's gaze. "Can you ask your father or mother if I can come in? I have something important to discuss with your father."

Sasuke hesitated but eventually nodded, curiosity gleaming in his eyes. Shiro ruffled the boy's hair lightly before Sasuke disappeared inside.
