Chapter 49: 47: Naruto And His Struggles
Shiro stood there, his eyes locked onto the screen of the Multi-Travel System. The interface displayed a multitude of worlds, each more intriguing than the last. Trillions of possibilities. The endless expanse of realms waited at his fingertips. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he thought to himself.
"I have nothing to do anyway. Going to another world would be great," Shiro muttered under his breath.
With a sense of calm resolution, Shiro clicked on the Multi-Travel System function, and a massive, sprawling screen unfurled before his eyes. The system interface was mind-boggling, presenting him with a virtual catalog of universes far beyond his own. There were worlds like Marvel, DC, Re:Zero, One Piece, Black Clover, Dragon Ball, Fire Force, and countless others. It was as if every possible story, every adventure that had ever been written, was laid out before him like a map of infinite worlds
His gaze wandered through the extensive list of worlds, each tempting him with its own allure. He found himself pausing over certain realms—the heroes of Marvel, the gods of DC, the monsters and magic of One Piece... but none of those worlds called to him quite like one in particular.
He stopped on the world of Naruto.
The thought of it sparked something within him—a sense of excitement and strategy that he couldn't ignore. He had a plan forming in his mind. A good one, he thought. A plan that could make him even stronger, pushing the boundaries of his power beyond anything he had imagined. It was a world full of potential—ninjas, chakra, and powerful techniques. He could learn and grow exponentially if he played his cards right.
"This is it," Shiro said with a determined nod.
He clicked on the Naruto world, and instantly, a new screen appeared, providing detailed information about the world and its timeline. Maps, important events, and notable characters flashed across the screen, detailing key moments in the world's history. His fingers hovered over the options, weighing his choices carefully.
One box on the screen stood out: "Choose Transport Timeframe."
Shiro stared at it for a moment, pondering. He knew that jumping into the wrong time period could be disastrous. Too early, and he'd be weak, unable to make any significant progress. Too late, and the entire landscape might be dominated by already-established forces—forces he might not be able to overcome.
After considering his options, he made up his mind.
"I'll go to a time when Naruto was about 6 years old," Shiro murmured to himself. "That's a time before he was too strong, but when there was still plenty of potential for me to grow alongside him. A time to get in on the action before everything goes out of hand."
He clicked on the selected timeframe. Information about Naruto's young life flashed across the screen—his initial struggles, the isolation, and the developing bonds he would form with the people around him. It was a time of growth, both for Naruto and for anyone who wanted to join in.
A confirmation window popped up: "Are you ready to travel?"
Without hesitation, Shiro clicked Yes, and the screen before him rippled as if reality itself was bending to his will. The world around him began to blur, spinning out of focus. A strange weightlessness overtook him, and his surroundings dissolved. He felt himself being pulled through the very fabric of space and time, the sensation disorienting yet strangely exhilarating.
As the world around him shifted, he felt a sharp, almost painful tug at his consciousness. It was as if every atom of his being was being unraveled and reassembled, scattered across the universe and brought back together again. His surroundings blurred into a cacophony of lights and colors before settling into a solid, familiar landscape.
Shiro blinked, adjusting to his new environment. His breath caught as his surroundings became clear. He was standing on a dirt path, surrounded by dense trees and the smell of the fresh forest air. He could hear the distant sound of a river and the chirping of birds. It was quiet, peaceful—until he took in the faint village sounds in the distance.
He had arrived.
Shiro dusted off his robes, watching the villagers bustle around the streets of Konoha, laughing and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. The sight should have been heartwarming, yet all it did was stoke a simmering disdain in his heart.
He snorted softly to himself. Hypocrites. Every last one of them.
These same people who now wandered through their peaceful lives with smiles plastered on their faces were the same ones who had spent years tormenting a child for a burden he never asked to bear. Naruto Uzumaki, the host of the Nine-Tailed Fox, had been ostracized by these villagers—not through physical violence, but through their cold indifference, cutting words, and unrelenting scorn.
"They may not have struck him with their fists," Shiro muttered to himself, his voice tinged with bitterness, "but they cut him down all the same—with overpriced, expired food, with closed doors, with their cruel stares. And Hiruzen Sarutobi let it happen."
Shiro shook his head in frustration as he began to walk through the village. For all his wisdom, the Third Hokage had failed miserably in protecting Naruto from the cruelty of his people. Shiro couldn't understand how the truth about Naruto's parentage remained hidden. Anyone with half a brain could see the resemblance between the boy and Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage.
Did they truly believe that Minato, the hero who had saved them from annihilation, would sacrifice an orphan instead of his own son? How blind could they be?
As Shiro continued down the bustling streets, his sharp eyes scanned the crowd. He had no specific destination in mind, but his thoughts were consumed by Naruto. The boy didn't even know who he was, much less the sacrifices made to ensure his survival.
Shiro considered approaching him, though he knew the Anbu would likely intervene the moment he got too close. The thought didn't bother him much. He was confident in his abilities, certain he could take down a few of the masked operatives if it came to that. And if he summoned a few of his kitsune allies, escaping Konoha would be child's play.
Still, he chose patience over confrontation.
As he walked, his attention was caught by a commotion up ahead. His keen eyes spotted Naruto standing outside a vendor's stall. The boy, small and frail for his age, was pleading with the shopkeeper.
"I just need some food," Naruto said, his voice wavering but determined.
The vendor sneered and shoved him away. "Get out of here, you monster!"
Naruto stumbled, landing hard on the ground. His body was thin, his limbs too fragile for a child of his age. Tears welled up in his bright blue eyes, but he refused to let them fall. Scrambling to his feet, he cast a defiant glare at the vendor before turning and running off.
"Filthy Nine-Tailed brat," the vendor muttered under his breath, loud enough for Shiro to hear.
Shiro's fists trembled with barely-contained rage. He forced himself to stay rooted, watching Naruto disappear into the distance. He could sense the presence of five ANBU trailing the boy, but none of them intervened to help. Their duty, it seemed, was to watch, not protect
Pathetic, Shiro thought.
When the ANBU signatures faded, Shiro made up his mind, he was gonna follow Naruto's trail at a measured pace. But first, he had another matter to address.
