Chapter 59: Chapter 59
A month has passed since the Thornfields' escape. Yuna, still shaken by the ordeal, remains cautious as she continues her work at SimQuest. Gail, ever the reassuring presence, has arranged for bodyguards to accompany Yuna, ensuring her safety. Yuna is grateful for the extra protection, though she can't shake the lingering fear of Kendrick's potential return.
One morning, Yuna's phone buzzes with an incoming call. To her surprise, it's Aria Silverstone. Yuna answers hesitantly, unsure of what to expect.
"Miss Minami, I wanted to apologize for the incident with the Thornfields," Aria's calm voice resonates through the line. "My men are already searching for them, and I assure you they will be brought to justice."
"I... I appreciate your concern, Ms. Silverstone. But you don't have to feel responsible."
"Be that as it may, I feel responsible for allowing them to escape. Rest assured, we will not rest until they are found." Aria pauses, then continues, "In the meantime, please let me know if there is anything else I can do to ensure your safety and well-being."
"Thank you, Ms. Silverstone. I'll keep that in mind."
After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Yuna ends the call, her mind whirling with the unexpected turn of events. She quickly relays the conversation to Gail, who listens intently.
"The Silverstones are taking this seriously," Gail muses, her fingers tapping against the desk. "That's good news for you, Yuna. It means you can focus on your work without having to look over your shoulder constantly."
Yuna nods, but the lingering unease is evident in her expression. "I just hope they can find the Thornfields before they try to retaliate. I don't want anyone else to get hurt because of me."
"We'll make sure you're safe, Yuna. You have my word on that."
Just then, Sam enters Gail's office, his brow furrowed with concern.
"I just received a call from Aria. She said she's sorry for letting the Thornfields escape and that her men are searching for them."
Gail nods, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Yes, Yuna just told me about the call. It seems the Silverstones are taking this matter quite seriously."
"I'm glad to hear that. Yuna, If there's anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask."
Yuna offers him a grateful smile, her tension easing slightly. "Thank you, Sam. I appreciate your support."
The three of them fall into a contemplative silence, each lost in their own thoughts about the unfolding situation. Gail, ever the pragmatist, breaks the silence.
"Well, now that we have that taken care of, let's focus on the task at hand. Sam, how is your progress on your simulation?"
"Yuna and I have submitted the Monster Hunter simulation to the testers at SimQuest. We're ready to start work on the trailer as well."
"Excellent. Once the trailer is ready, make sure to submit it so we can start promoting the simulation. We want to build up as much hype as possible before the launch."
"We're on it, Gail. Yuna and I have been brainstorming some ideas for the trailer, and I think we've come up with something that will really capture the essence of the game."
"I'm sure you have," Gail says, her gaze shifting between the two developers. "I have every confidence in your abilities. Just make sure to get it done in a timely manner, alright?"
"You can count on us," Yuna chimes in, her voice steady and determined. "We'll have the trailer ready for review as soon as possible."
"I'll be finding some influencers to promote the simulation. We need to build as much hype as possible before the launch."
Sam nods enthusiastically. "That's a great idea, Gail. The more people we can get excited about the Monster Hunter simulation, the better." He glances at Yuna, a spark of excitement in his eyes.
Yuna chimes in, her voice steady. "I agree. The more exposure we can get, the more players we'll have when it goes live."
"A dedicated website would be a great way to build hype and share details about the game," he says, his eyes gleaming with enthusiasm.
Gail nods, considering the idea. "That's an excellent suggestion, Sam. Having a website to showcase the game's features and build anticipation could really help drive engagement." She taps her chin thoughtfully. "I'll look into finding some talented web designers to put together the site."
Yuna chimes in, "I'd be happy to provide assets and artwork to help with the website design. We want it to be visually striking and informative."
"Wonderful," Gail replies. "I'll get the ball rolling on that right away. In the meantime, let's make sure the trailer is polished and ready to go. The website can complement that nicely when it's live."
Sam and Yuna were just about to leave Gail's office when a SimQuest tester hurried in, a concerned look on his face.
"Sam, Yuna, I've been testing the Monster Hunter simulation, and I've found a few issues that need addressing," the tester said, his brow furrowed.
"What kind of issues?"
"Well, for one, there's a bug in the Rathalos encounter where the creature's fire breath affects too wide of an area. And I've also noticed some of the equipment is overturned or undertuned."
"Okay, that's good to know. What about suggestions? Anything you think we could improve?"
"Yes, actually." The tester paused, gathering his thoughts. "I think adding more environmental hazards in the different zones would really ramp up the challenge. And maybe some more variety in the smaller monster encounters, to keep the players on their toes."
Yuna jotted down a few notes, her eyes bright with determination. "Those are great ideas. We'll get right on those fixes and enhancements."
"Wonderful. I'll send you the full report later today," the tester said, turning to leave.
Sam and Yuna exchanged a look, their excitement tempered by the need to address the issues before the simulation's launch.
"Guess we'd better get to work," Sam said, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
"Let's do it. The Hunters are counting on us."
With a final nod to Gail, the two developers hurried out of the office, determined to make their Monster Hunter simulation the best it could be.
