Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Aftermath
Aaron walked back towards the Tokyo Hunters Guild. The rain had stopped. The streets was a real mess. Dead bodies of humans and demons flooded the streets. The stench of the blood of both beings oozed in the streets.
Aaron stopped suddenly when he saw the dark arua he sensed from the building. He had sensed death. The arua was extremely strong. He had the ability to read his surroundings to see the arua and what they meant. Right now what he sensed was death. Fear flushed within him.
"This can't be..." he muttered and ran into the building. His feet dragged on as he moved. Fear ripping into his nerves. He was nervous and tension was building up within him.
Shock etched on his face as he saw the four Hunters laying headless on the ground. He looked around and gasped as he saw their busted heads. He walked slowly and steady. He then decided to take the stairs instead of the elevator.
As he walked up to the first flood, he sighted a handful of headless Hunters. He gasped in shock and tightened his fists in anger. He walked slowly as he surveyed the bodies.
"What the..." he walled forward. "What sort of demon could wipe out an entire army of Hunters?!" Aaron exclaimed as he noticed that there was no living soul in the building. Even the refuge were all dead.
"Damn! This us getting ugly." Aaron muttered to himself as he stared around.
"I can't even pick a demon scent. What sort of a demon is this?!" Aaron muttered. He then walked sound the bodies and then back to the stairs. He climbed upstairs and got to the floor.
At the corridor of this floor we're piles of dead bodies. Their heads were also bursted. Aaron stared in horror. The demon seemed to be really strong and brutal. It's kills were rather uncommon and deadly. He could only imagine what rank this demon was?
Then he remembered James's claims. He had spoken of a demon. This demon seemed to be stronger than what he had killed and as such it wasn't the one he had killed. Now his question was this..
If James killed the fore runner and he killed a stronger demon that seemed to be the boss, what was the demon boss?
Although he had journeyed through the Dungeons with double bosses but never had he heard that they emerge within hours after spotting them. Infact it took a matter of weeks for a boss to emerge out of the portal and so it being a Double Dungeon was ought to slow up things.
"This is insane! This is... this is bizarre. What the hell did we call this? The entire Tokyo Hunters are wiped out. The humans have been devoured." Aaron lamented as he stared in the open.
"The only thing we have is the Home of Peace." He gasped as he finished speaking.
"If this demon could break our defenses, it sure can be able to penetrate into the Home of Peace. Gosh!! I have to get there quick enough."
He rushed downstairs, moving violently. Soon he was out of the Guild. He picked up a race towards the Home of Peace, earnestly praying for the safety of the humans there. As he drew nearer, he could sight Zohn carrying the body of Marie.
"Hey! Zohn!!" he called out but Zohn moved on towards the Home of Peace, taking slowly painful steps.
Aaron caught up with him as he stopped. He tilted his head and stared at Zohn was buried in thoughts. Tears dripped down from Zohn's eyes.
"Still hurt huh?" Aaron asked but Zohn kept mute. His heart was throbbed.
"The Tokyo Hunters Guild..." Aaron said and paused. Zohn's eyes widened in shock. He knew that Aaron had seen it. He knew he had seen the dead bodies. His heart twitched in pain and he fell back to barely balance on his left leg.
"I couldn't save them. I couldn't do anything to save anyone. Those who stood by me died and I watches them die. Marie is dead all thanks to me." Zohn said in between sobs. His upper arm was bandaged with some part of his clothes.
"If you are gonna keep counting the deaths then I do not think we would ever overcome this. I mean there is an overpowered demon boss out there and if you get sluggish now, then we might as well lose more souls."
Zohn stared at him confused. Aaron began to walk away. Zohn stared at him and layed down Marie.
"Come on. Do you not seek vengeance for the one who killed your loved one?" Aaron said and smiled. Zohn stared at Marie and bent over to her.
"What are you doing?" Aaron asked. Zohn continued to arrange her body then he turned sharply to look at Aaron.
"You spoke about vengeance, right?" Aaron nodded lightly. "Well I am about to do mine." he said and Aaron stared at him in shock.
"What the hell do you mean?" Zohn smiled.
"I come from Atani Clan. We store our loved ones memories by drinking their blood." Aaron stared at him puzzled.
"But you are not a vampire neither is she alive. You will only take in dried disgusting blood. Are you crazy?" Aaron persuaded but Zohn smiled.
"Well I will bring her back to life to some extent but she will not wake up." Aaron stared in shock. He never knew Zohn could actually ressurect a dead body.
Zohn twisted his right fingers, using the movements of his fingers to create a flow of energy. The energy materialised into a bright yellow colour seemingly flowing into Marie body. Marie's body levitated up in the air. Her motion was slow but she was laying in the air.
"What...what are you doing?" Zohn smirked widely as he walked towards Marie.
He looked at her neck to see an injury. That would do. Her blood began to freshen up gradually. Aaron stared at him in shock. He then planted his mouth on her neck, sucking in her blood and memories.
But as soon as he was about completing the act...
BOOOOM!!!!!!
