Chapter 255: Adventure of Astral Part 5: The Camp
Astral had no clue what he was walking into or what was going to happen. All he saw was something in his path as he readied himself mentally. Could he do this with Lilac in his arms and Tina on his back? "Don't do it, their power rival's Death Cat." Lilac pleaded as Astral hoisted her up in his left arm.
"I agree that it's a bad idea, but if it gets the elves to be off of us, so be it." Astral walked through the grass as two demon guards looked at him confused.
"So you are just going to piss off everyone?" Lilac was confused as Tina covered her ears. Lilac embraced the two of her with her arms.
"Just be my blindside eyes." Astral asked quietly as he kept walking forward.
"Halt puny human, why are you entering our camp?" The scaly figure stood at eight feet tall, his leather armor covered his chest and legs as he had a stone spear the same height as he. He leaned his spear in front of the gate to his right.
"Do you think it is wise to play with demons while in such a vulnerable state?" The scaly beast matched his counterpart, except with gray scales instead of green. He puts his spear across the gate to example no entry. "We already have a human captured, and he is." The demon chuckles. "A valuable asset."
"Oh a fellow human is here and you have him captured?" Astral walked into the range of their spears as he had both of them in his sight. "Would be a shame if we were the rescue team right?" Astral paused as he felt something wrong about the human that was locked just beyond the wall.
"And your team of a hurt lady and a child are going to win against an entire camp of demons?" The guards roared in unison as the inside of the camp slowly started to bustle and move around. Astral shrugged as they looked at each other than him. Then started laughing as even they didn't buy what he was doing.
"Yeah right, we won't let you enter." The gray one wiped the tears from his eyes.
"Over our dead bodies." The green one grabbed his spear with both hands as he pointed it at Astral's neck as he was toying with the man.
Astral's silence was deafening to them. The gray guard pointed his spear at his neck as well as they pushed forward at the same time. Their spears didn't move as their back feet slid backwards. They looked over as Astral was blocking them both with his katana.
Astral flicked his wrist up and backed up a full pace as they rebounded from the attack. What type of human was he? They went to each side of him to use and abuse his blind spots. Astral tried to remember an old technique to bypass this as he just agrees to himself and the rest to trust them and their blind spot callouts.
The one in front of him slams his spear down at Astral as he bats it away with his katana. "Behind you. Thrust!" Lilac calls out as Astral pivots a full rotation and slams the spear into the ground. He jumps onto the spear as the three get launched upwards. They all look downwards as they don't know what's going to happen. The two guards hold their spears to skewer them out of the air as two metallic wings extend from Astral's back.
Everyone was surprised outside of Astral as they held their height in the air. Astral nodded his head downwards. The wings rebonded with him in a moment of joy as he slammed into the ground with a flash of power into a hot pan. Lilac and Tina were frightened as both guards fell face down. Their green blood started to leak into the grass as Astral approached the gate. His wings fluttered happily as they were back.
"Astral, what are these?" Lilac asked as the wings held Tina in a safe cocoon with a view spot.
"An old friend, I can't remember quite what they are other than wings for mobility in fights. But I also remember these were the old ones." Astral tilted his head to see Lilac's eyes as she realized he is not from here. With one strong slash the gate crashes down. An army of demons look at him as they don't move. One man killed two of the guards in one attack.
"Astral, are you sure this is a smart idea?" Lilac poked the idea again as he strolled directly to the cage where he felt a pull at. He was wearing black pants with small white straps near his ankles, black shoes, and two black shirts, one underneath and the second over as a button up that lay unbuttoned. His cape on his right side going down to his feet and left side had a shoulder pad on it.
"Yes, now both of you two can sit in front of the cage for a moment. As for you, we will free you in a moment." Astral set down Tina and Lilac as his wings vanished. The demons looked at him in awe as the general looked at him.
Sentinel looked at Astral in awe as he saw how brave this man was. "How brave and brash of one human to save another when their skills won't save them." Sentinel raised a hand as his forces of a mixed amount of different looking demons behind him.
Astral uncorked a small bottle of water as he downed it all in a moment's instance. "You all could attack me at once, or in a fair fight, have it be one on one." He stretched his arms out. "If you want my respect you are going to earn it." He stared at the demon as he walked up to him. Standing double his height he looked into the amber colored eyes.
"If you wish to run free from here, you best come at us with more than hollow threats." Sentinel growled at Astral as he pointed to the two demons who were just getting up from his attack. He slashed open their chests and the wounds were deep as more demons scurried away to help them.
"Your choice to end up like them or let me pass."
"You couldn't beat me if you tried, no human has beaten me in a fair one on one fight." Sentinel trusted this man in front of him as he backed up. Astral kept his hands to his sides as the two stared at each other as they both dropped down into a dirt pit.
