Chapter 105: Chapter 105: The Door to Knowledge

[T/N: New year BONUS chapter 🥳🥳]

Lex stood with his hands on his hips, glancing at General Archie with a faint smile.

"Can't you keep your Mr. John under control? He just blasted a hole through my lab, a lab that cost me millions of dollars to build."

General Archie's lips twitched into a subtle smirk. "Our relationship with Mr. John is one of cooperation, not command."

Lex frowned, his gaze shifting back to the so-called plumber.

---

Inside the lab, Azor accepted a tool handed to him by Lex.

It was a blade crafted from Kryptonite, designed to induce cellular degeneration in Kryptonians. The tool could slice through their otherwise invulnerable skin.

Azor ran his fingers over a sample, knowing full well that LexCorp had a larger, more intact chunk of Kryptonite in its possession—though, by now, it was likely in Batman's hands.

With surgical precision, Azor used the blade to carve a sliver of skin from one of General Zod's fingers. He held up the piece of flesh, examining it with a smile, then shifted his attention to the corpse's other hand.

The fingers on that hand were already stripped of their skin.

"What are you doing?"

"Hmm?" Azor chuckled. "Running an experiment, maybe?"

Lex folded his arms, observing intently. "Whatever it is, I'm sure I've already tried it."

Azor glanced at him, a playful glint in his eye. "You don't need to be so defensive."

"I'm not here to interfere with your projects, Lex." He held up another sliver of skin before carefully sealing it inside a prepared container. "And don't worry—the body stays with you."

Finally, he looked at Lex, his tone calm but commanding.

"Now, hand it over."

"The Kryptonian ship's control key."

Lex's expression tightened. "And what makes you think I carry that around with me?"

Azor simply stared at him, unyielding. After a long pause, Lex sighed and reached into his inner pocket, retrieving a small box.

Azor opened it, revealing the control key nestled inside. He smiled faintly.

"You'll find it on the ship."

Without another word, he turned and left the lab.

---

Metropolis, Kryptonian Ship Dock

Azor stood before the towering doors of the ship's control room. Alone. No one had followed him here.

"Alright," he muttered, his voice low but brimming with excitement. "So far, so good."

He retrieved the strips of Kryptonian skin he had collected, pressing them against his own fingers.

Facing the doors, Azor grinned.

"It's time to open the gates of knowledge."

---

That morning, when he saw no immediate mission requirements, Azor had formulated a plan.

The first step: acquire Kryptonian technological knowledge.

He wasn't certain whether objects from this universe would retain their functionality back in the world of The Boys. But knowledge—etched into his mind—was an asset that transcended dimensions.

Kryptonian civilization was among the most advanced in the DC Universe. While fully replicating their technology might be impossible, even a fraction of their innovations could revolutionize Earth's current scientific understanding.

Not that Azor was altruistic enough to share it with the public.

No, his ambition was far more self-serving. He envisioned a Wakanda-like nation in The Boys universe—an advanced civilization entirely under his control.

Placing his hand on the door, he felt it hum with life. It opened swiftly, revealing a corridor leading to the control chamber.

At the end of the hallway, Azor found himself in a room filled with a glowing liquid. Before him stood a towering control console.

At its center was a slot, clearly meant for the control key.

Azor took the key from its case. As it neared the slot, an unseen force drew it in, locking it into place.

Placing his hand on the console, he watched as the liquid beneath him began to glow. A voice echoed through the chamber.

"Welcome. Would you like to begin issuing commands?"

Azor inhaled deeply, a grin spreading across his face.

"I want to learn. Teach me everything about Kryptonian knowledge."

"Understood."

---

LexCorp Headquarters

"One Superman is trouble enough," Lex growled, his hands cradling his head. "Now there's this Mr. John. Just how many superhumans are there in this world?!"

In his office, a dozen information specialists were hard at work.

A bespectacled, overweight man shook his head. "It's like this guy appeared out of thin air. He has no records—no credit cards, no insurance, no passport. Nothing."

A woman suddenly called out, "Lex, you might want to see this."

She turned her monitor to face him. On the screen played a video.

In it, a white man wearing a baseball cap emitted a beam of golden light from his eyes, slicing a truck clean in half.

"It's him!" Lex exclaimed. "That's Mr. John!"

The footage continued, showing the man holding a woman tightly in his arms before taking off into the sky.

"Wait," Lex murmured, narrowing his eyes. "That woman looks familiar..."

He moved to his computer and opened a private database.

It contained profiles of every known or suspected superhuman, meticulously cataloged.

One file, labeled Mystery Woman, contained a photograph. It had been taken 18 months earlier during the Kryptonian invasion.

The photo showed a blind Asian woman emerging from the rubble of a destroyed building.

"She's the same."

Lex compared the woman in the photo to the one in the video.

"So, this blind woman is Mr. John's... Martha?"

---

Nightfall

Rain poured steadily as thunder rumbled across the city.

Lin Ada let out a soft sigh. "Mr. John has been gone all day. Do you think he'll be back for dinner?"

A familiar voice rang out.

"Who says I won't?"

Startled, Lin Ada jumped to her feet, her face lighting up.

"You're back! Where were you?"

"Sorry," Azor replied, running a hand through his hair. "I was... at the library, doing some research."

Lin Ada's expression softened with admiration. "I never realized how diligent you were. You really know everything, don't you?"

Then, as if remembering something, her tone turned serious.

"Please, don't go off on your own anymore. The Gate could open at any time."

She hesitated. "It's strange. Before, I'd only be gone for two or three hours. But now, it feels like it's taking so much longer to return."

Azor rubbed his temples, feeling the weight of the day's newfound knowledge.

"Maybe," he said, "it's because there are two of us now."

He paused, his lips curling into a sly grin.

"But that's not necessarily a bad thing. If we return too soon, we'd miss out on the show."

Lin Ada tilted her head, curious. "What show?"

Outside, lightning flashed, illuminating the darkened sky.

Azor's eyes gleamed as he spotted a familiar symbol projected into the clouds—a bat.

"The show's about to start."
