Aria Of The Cursed Dragon

Chapter 24: 24. The Aria XXI

"Haah!" Siegfried gasped as he woke up in the middle of a barren land covered in swords both broken and complete.

He was panting hard while holding his head in pain.

Memories rushed into his head causing him to grit his teeth and bang his head against the ground which led to him bleeding but the injury quickly healed as if it didn't exist.

"It's not over " A calm voice filled with deep sadness and a bit of helplessness reached Siegfried's ears causing him to snap his head in the direction with a growl.

"You!" Siegfried's voice dripped with venom as he stared at the person in front of him.

His gaze was filled with hatred and murderous intent but he quickly took deep breaths to calm himself down as there was no point in getting angry at himself.

What's the use of trying to kill this person when he was better off trying to kill himself because, in the end, it was him.

Siegfried gazed at the Siegfried in front of him with a frigid gaze, he had never hated anybody more in his life than he hated himself.

His moronic and self-righteous attitude had caused so much suffering to others.

If only he wasn't such a self-righteous fool then would his wife and unborn child had to die, and would Kriem have gone mad trying to avenge him just like how his Bryn had gone on a slaughter.

Then countless memories of torture and suffering were imprinted in his mind.

He didn't know how many lifetimes he had to live 100? 1000? 10000? , he couldn't keep track of it.

None of them were pleasant memories anyway, the broken swords that spanned the expanse of this barren landscape signified the life times he had and from what he could see, there was no end to it.

Out of all of them, he could count a few that were the happiest for him but also the ones that made him experience despair due to how he affected others too.

Just by being a part of his life, his lovers had suffered Kriemhild, Brunnhilde, Brynhildr, Skadi, Artoria ....wait Artoria?

Suddenly Siegfried stopped his thoughts as a sharp pain invaded his mind as he clutched his head and groaned in pain.

The name Artoria seems to have triggered a memory but it was fragmented at best, and along with that memory came a feeling of despair no less than the ones he felt before.

" So you remebered..... I am sorry... but this is necessary for us and I can't do anything to help you " The Siegfried in front of him spoke with a sad smile as he disintegrated into light particles before entering his body causing him to black out....

...

Baron Fraenis, but the common populace and the nobles didn't refer to him like that, he was called the 'Hound of the King'.

A mad dog who bit whoever his master told him to, a bloodthirsty demon who relished in slaughtering his enemies and bathing in their blood.

He was used as a scary figure by parents to scare their children when they weren't obedient. They would say if you don't behave the ' Hound' will come for you.

The nobility disdained and feared him, his action of slaughtering an entire noble house in cold blood was still fresh in everyone's memory. It was said that even children and the elderly were not spared from his tyranny.

A mad dog without restraint that was the public's perception of him, at least that was what they were led to believe.

Morgan Le Fay recounted the rumours and news she had heard of him and she couldn't help but think how naive these people were.

This only further proved to her of how inferior humans were.

Their supposed hero was vilified to this extent and these gullible morons just swallowed all of it up.

Morgan found it quite amusing as she knew the truth, unlike the sheep that inhabited this country.

Morgan was a Fey and she disdained humans for being weak and inferior and she hated her father for valuing her sister over her.

Morgan believed she was the rightful heir to the throne of Britain and her father's attitude towards her only made her resent everything more.

The husband he had arranged for her had sadly passed away in a very 'unfortunate' situation and she was left as a widow.

Humans were weak, treacherous, greedy and inferior and nothing about them appealed to her.

Her father's decision to leverage her as a political chip had already made hatred for him brew in her heart.

Britania was rightfully hers and Morgan Le Fay would claim what was hers and nobody could take her birthright from her.

She was filled with amusement when she thought of how her father would deal with his 'Hound' after what had happened at the borders.

With him single-handedly suppressing the border conflict and even ending it, she wanted to see how her father would react.

She knew who was the main culprit behind this narrative of the 'Hound' instead of a Knight who loyally served the realm.

It would truly be amusing to see what the Great King Uther would do now since the so-called Hound was racking up more and more prestige.

With his presence being a double-edged sword to the current King...
