Chapter 29: Chapter 29: A New Spark of Flame
The atmosphere in the classroom had turned intense, the kind that only came before a storm.
Principal Alden stood at the front, arms crossed behind his back, eyes sharp with purpose.
> "Team Gamaron is more than just a rogue squad," Alden began gravely. "It is commanded by one of the generals of the Dark Order. We still don't know which one."
Murmurs spread among the students.
Alden raised a hand. "What we do know is this: their sights are set on the Ignion Ruins—a site buried beneath centuries of mystery."
The students leaned forward in silence.
> "Once home to an ancient, powerful people, the Ignion civilization vanished without a trace. What they left behind, however, might still remain… buried deep within the ruins. That's exactly what the Dark Order seeks."
He looked directly at Show.
> "And we cannot allow them to find it first."

Later that day – Arcane Academy Courtyard
All the students of Class 1-A were gathered. Backpacks slung over shoulders, weapons and grim determination in hand.
Alden stepped up once more.
> "This mission is unlike anything you've done before. It will test your will, your control... your limits. To guide you, I have summoned three of our elite second-year students."
Three figures walked forward through the misty light:
1. Clod – calm and precise, eyes glowing faintly with spatial magic. "I don't talk much. Just follow my signals."
2. Clara – radiant with soft golden hair and commanding presence. "I specialize in father enchantments. I protect. You fight."
3. And finally…
Veil.
The moment he stepped forward, the entire class turned.
Show's eyes widened, then flared with heat.
> "You!" he growled, fists clenched.
Veil, unfazed, gave a small nod. "Still holding a grudge? Thought we already settled that back in Cliffstone Cave."
> "You humiliated me!" Show snapped.
> "No," Veil corrected, eyes sharp, "I tested you."
Before the tension could boil over, Clara stepped between them.
> "Both of you, stand down. You're on the same side now."
Reluctantly, Show backed off. But the flame in his eyes never dimmed.

Just before departure – On the edge of the portal gate
As the squad prepared to step through the teleport gate toward Ignion, Principal Alden placed a hand briefly on Show's shoulder.
A faint glyph shimmered and disappeared—so fast, no one noticed.
Far away, Professor Eldren, who had seen it from the distance, walked beside Alden.
> "Is it safe... reducing his magic output like that?"
Alden didn't answer immediately.
> "If we don't," he finally said, "his fire will consume more than just enemies. It might consume his truth as well."
> "He's close to awakening… we just need more time."
---
As the portal flared to life, the entire group stepped forward—Show, Drake, Karen, Lyra, Raelyn, Cyrus, and the rest, alongside the three guides.
Their destination: the lost Ignion Ruins.
Buried under history.
Guarded by darkness.
Watched by the Dark Order.
