Chapter 36 - Difficult Mission Chunchun Saves the Beauty! II
9:30 in the morning, LIAN Cafe.
Liu Chunchun was stirring the colorful cup of cream in front of him, but he wasn’t in any mood to enjoy this expensive signature dessert. In fact, at this moment, all his attention was focused on another table of guests in front of him, where Wang Yuanchen and Shi Tian sat.
The waiter served a dessert. The red velvet cake was made into a peach heart and decorated with rose petals and gold foil. It was so beautiful and perfect that it looked like a work of art.
“Try it,” Shi Tian pushed the plate in front of him. “It should be the taste you like.”
Wang Yuanchen looked indifferent, as if he hadn’t heard what was said. He just kept sitting on the sofa, flipping through the expired magazines in his hand – he didn’t hide his disgust and unwillingness at all, so much so that even the waiter delivering water had to speak softly and be careful, for fear that this beautiful young man would suddenly become angry.
“You were the one who invited me out,” Shi Tian didn’t look angry, but reminded him with a smile. “I thought you would restrain your attitude even if you were acting.”
“I was looking for you for something,” Wang Yuanchen finally raised his head, but before he could say the next word, Shi Tian had already raised his hand to stop him. “I know you’re always too lazy to make excuses, so you don’t have to force yourself. Han Zhuo asked you to come, right?”
Wang Yuanchen said coldly, “No.”
“Well, if you say no, then it’s not,” Shi Tian helped him change the bitter coffee. “He is very smart, but I don’t want to discuss others now. I just hope you could remember, even if I knew all this was a conspiracy and the purpose was only to delay my time. I am still willing to pretend not to know anything, as long as it makes you happy.”
“OK,” Wang Yuanchen said, now that the topic had been made clear. He was too lazy to repeat it. He picked up the magazine again and said, “After four hours, I will let you go.”
“I can sit with you all day,” Shi Tian smiled. “After all, this kind of opportunity was really rare for me.”
This statement sounded ambiguous and greasy. Hearing this, Wang Yuanchen’s face turned gloomy, clearly in a bad mood. Despite this, he endured the undisguised, naked gaze from Shi Tian, gripping the magazine so hard that the veins on the back of his hand popped out.
Shi Tian calmly picked up his coffee cup, enjoying Wang Yuanchen’s evident discomfort and rejection as if watching a frantic little tiger, even wearing a satisfied smile on his lips.
Liu Chunchun, witnessing this, became furious. He smashed the cake on his plate into pieces, then threw away his fork and stood up, moving to sit next to Wang Yuanchen.
The air suddenly grew tense, including Shi Tian. He had noticed Liu Chunchun long before but never expected the helpless man to confront him.
“What are you looking at?” Liu Chunchun demanded fiercely. “You pervert!”
Wang Yuanchen remained silent.
“Are you okay?” Liu Chunchun asked softly. “Do you need to go to the hospital?”
Wang Yuanchen didn’t respond, feeling a headache coming on.
But Liu Chunchun had no intention of leaving. Not only did he stay, but he also positioned himself in front of Wang Yuanchen, shielding him from Shi Tian’s lewd gaze.
Shi Tian sneered.
Liu Chunchun returned the sneer and squared his shoulders.
It had been many years since he had played the big brother’s role.
Shi Tian: “…”
Madman.
.
The wall clock ticked away, the hour hand slowly approaching ten.
“Are you sure Han Zhuo will come?” Qian Ning, the attending doctor at the Benin Clinic, asked as he took reagents out of the refrigerator. “If he really has ties to the third laboratory, it won’t be good for us.”
“A self-proclaimed savior of justice chose to cooperate with Wu Zigang just because the Third Laboratory seemed more ‘peaceful and voluntary’ on the surface?” Huang Jingyuan shook his head. “If Han Zhuo really has that kind of brain, we should consider ourselves lucky.”
“But Mr. Shi is being held back,” Qian Ning reminded him.
“Even without Mr. Shi, I can still bring back my wife,” Huang Jingyuan said grimly. “This time, I’ll teach her what it means to be an obedient, well-behaved, sensible wife.”
“Alright,” Qian Ning said, raising his head and drinking a bottle of blue reagent. “I wish you success.”
.
At ten o’clock in the morning, Han Zhuo stepped out of the car carrying Bai Xi in his arms. He gazed up at the white and green building ahead, with the sign reading “Benin Clinic”. Bai Xi was bundled up in his arms, dressed in casual gray clothes with a wig on his head, intentionally disheveled and secured with rubber bands. His face was tightly covered by a large mask and sunglasses, making it difficult for even Huang Jingyuan to recognize him at first glance.
“Mr. Han?” Qian Ning appeared at the clinic door punctually, looking surprised. “What brings you here?”
“Surprised?” Han Zhuo asked.
“A little. It’s quite rare to see you here,” Qian Ning smiled and greeted the person behind him, “Dr. Wu.”
Wu Zigang nodded, his expression grim, showing little desire for conversation. He cut straight to the point, “Are you ready?”
“Please follow me.” Qian Ning tucked his hands into his white coat pockets and began to lead the way, “All the necessary equipment is prepared. I will personally…”
“No need for you to handle it,” Wu Zigang interjected. “I’ll take care of it.”
Qian Ning wasn’t taken aback by this and readily agreed. After all, any useful data obtained from handling the embryo outside the mother’s body would significantly bolster Wu Zigang’s case.
The operating room was impeccably organized, with an array of instruments laid out neatly.
“You may leave now,” Wu Zigang instructed as he washed his hands at the sink.
“Understood,” Qian Ning helped him with his slippers and then turned to Han Zhuo, “Mr. Han, please step outside.”
“You’re the one who should leave,” Han Zhuo corrected him, “I’ll stay here until the procedure is finished.”
“Are you certain?” Qian Ning looked surprised. “But it’s rather uncomfortable for a lady.”
Han Zhuo directed his attention to the bed.
The “lady” laid quietly on the side, offering no comment.
Qian Ning sighed, resigned. “Alright, I’ll be outside the door. If you need anything, just ring the bell.”
