Chapter 32 - The Secret of The Junkyard II
After hanging up, Daisy tried to call Han Zhuo again but was met with a shutdown prompt.
Where could he have gone? She frowned slightly. Despite her confusion, she wasn’t too concerned because Han Zhuo usually informed her beforehand if he was about to do something risky, rather than disappearing quietly.
Wu Zigang? Daisy tapped her scarlet nails on the table. Aside from that, there didn’t seem to be anything significant enough to make him vanish in the middle of the night. And her hunch quickly proved correct because within five minutes, Han Zhuo teleported back to the bar.
“What happened?” Daisy picked up his shirt. “It smells awful, and there are blood stains on your shoes. Did you go kill someone?”
“I went to find Wu Zigang,” Han Zhuo tossed the shirt on the ground. “He was also the one who drove me to the teleportation location. I’m going to take a shower first.”
Water streamed in the bathroom, and Daisy leaned against the wall, reminding him, “Aren’t you going to tell me what happened tonight?”
“It only took ten minutes for me to take a shower,” Han Zhuo opened the shower gel. “You could go have a glass of wine first, and then we could talk all night.”
“Ten minutes is very luxurious for you now, little handsome boy,” Daisy knocked on the door. “My suggestion was to take five minutes for a quick shower, say everything, and then go to Xiao Bai as soon as possible. He just called me and sounded very worried and angry.”
In the bathroom, the sound of water stopped.
Han Zhuo said hesitantly, “I had already asked for leave before going out and explained that I would probably be out all night.”
“But your excuse for asking for leave was very poor, and you also turned off your phone,” Daisy perfectly concealed her displeasure. She pointed out the flaw calmly, “This was really inappropriate.”
Mr. Han remained silent.
Five minutes later, Bai Xi didn’t wait for Daisy’s callback, and sure enough, he called her again.
“Sorry, I still don’t have a clue,” Daisy stood on the balcony and said sadly. “Can you give me another half hour?”
“Is he in danger?” Bai Xi sounded anxious and distressed. “I really can’t think of anything I can do to help.”
“He will definitely not be in danger,” Daisy’s voice carried a note of reassurance. “Because Han Zhuo is one of the most powerful superpowers on the planet. He is so handsome, cold, tall, charming, rich, and at the same time very elegant and trustworthy. Well… and he also has quite good physical strength, especially at night. He’s like a strong, sleek little cheetah. You should try it yourself next time.”
Bai Xi was not in the mood to listen to this. He continued anxiously, “Can you ask Dr. Wu? I just thought about it, and this is the most likely place for him to go.”
“No question,” Daisy glanced toward the bathroom direction, flicked her finger casually, and clothes immediately flew out of the closet and onto Mr. Han, who had just walked out.
Han Zhuo hurriedly put on his coat and pants.
“Now, immediately,” Daisy stepped forward to help him adjust his collar, while reminding him, “If it takes more than half an hour, I bet your little sweetheart will come to the bar on his own.”
.
Han Zhuo didn’t choose to drive back. Instead, he took a taxi to the teleportation location first, then appeared directly in the bedroom full of starlight to save time.
Bai Xi was startled to find an extra person in the room for no reason.
“I’m back,” Han Zhuo raised his hands before speaking. “My phone’s battery went off just after I left the house. Did you call me?”
Bai Xi didn’t answer the question. He looked at the calm Mr. Han standing in front of him, finally feeling the tension in his heart subside. Only then did he realize his legs had gone numb from standing by the window for so long. Moving to the bed, he sat down in a mix of depression and amusement, “I’ll get you ten mobile batteries tomorrow.”
Han Zhuo squatted in front of him with a conciliatory attitude, “I admit I made you worry.”
However, Bai Xi soon noticed something odd.
He asked suspiciously, “Why did you change your clothes and pants when you came home?”
Han Zhuo relaxed his calves. After hearing the question, he paused for a moment, then raised his head and smiled, “Because—”
“First, I know you didn’t go to see your mother at all, so you don’t need to tell me someone knocked over your drink at the bar,” Bai Xi pulled his legs back and sat cross-legged on the bed. “I… I hate lies, especially from you.”
“I know,” Han Zhuo sat next to him. “But I didn’t mean to lie. I just wanted to wait until tomorrow to tell you. We had an agreement before. We are not allowed to lie to each other, or that someone eat hot pot without beef and go to the toilet without paper, right?”
“So, you still remember,” Bai Xi glanced at him and asked, “Then why does it have to be tomorrow?”
“Because I didn’t want you to hear any unsettling bedtime stories,” Han Zhuo touched his fingertip and put a little star on his finger. “Aren’t you mad?”
“You always treat me like a child,” Bai Xi protested.
“Because you eat French fries with mayonnaise, have little ducks’ pajamas, and like all kinds of little stars,” Han Zhuo replied. “And I’m your mentor. In theory, there’s nothing wrong with treating you like a child. Besides, You said you want to save the Earth.”
Bai Xi threw the pillow into his arms. “You’re the devil’s coach.”
“Do you want it?”
Bai Xi said without hesitation, “OK!”
“Very good.” Han Zhuo nodded, still locking eyes with him, but the smile on his face gradually faded. “If you really require devil training, then answer my first question: What kind of punishment do you plan to accept for the contradiction, offense, and disrespect just now?”
The atmosphere in the room suddenly changed. Bai Xi was taken aback, but after hesitating for a moment, he still retorted, “You were obviously the one who deceived me first.”
“The second offense,” Han Zhuo reminded him, “so the punishment will be doubled.”
Bai Xi sighed, feeling it wasn’t fair.
“Follow me,” Han Zhuo strode out of the bedroom.
Bai Xi didn’t have time to change clothes, so he threw on a coat over his pajamas and hurried out after him.
