Chapter 133: a bittersweet reunion

Hell is often depicted as many things, a desolate fiery barren land realm, void of any joy or hope. The sky a sickly yellow of sulphurous haze, casting an ethereal glow down to the barren landscape.

The air thick with the stench of brimstone and hail, with the haunting screams of the damned souls. Various forms of torment await those 'prisoners', who resides here. But there are three main soul crushing torments, designed to shatter one's soul for eternity.

Eternal flames, often depicted in many books and religious stories about the towering infernos that engulf the unwary, their flames burning with an otherworldly ferocity.

The second was the most popular which was the lake of fire, found in almost every book about angels, demons, gods, and so on. According to some stories particularly the bible, it is said that after the great battle in heaven. Lucifer the once proud angel now refered to as the fallen one, ruler of darkness, destroyer of worlds, was defeated and captured, thrown into the lake of fire burning with sulphur. While his subordinates, which were other angels deceived by him to rebel against god were cast out down to earth, to run loose for a little while.

The lake of fire is often described as a vast burning expanse, that stretches as far as the eyes can see. it's surface churning with molten lava.

The third and last was the pit of despair, often called the bottomless pit. When the first battle occured, it was said Lucifer the fallen angel was chained by Micheal the archangel of god, and tossed into the bottomless pit. Where it's recorded he still falls down an endless hole, waiting for the time he'll be set free once again to wreck havoc.

The pit of despair is a seemingly bottomless void, were the damned are trapped in an endless cycle of hopelessness and desperation. A place where eternity and void, darkness, merges together.

It is said that Lucifer the king of darkness created hell, a dark omnious place devoid of life as his kingdom after he was disgracefully casted down from heaven. Other fallen angels like him also followed him, residing in this death paradise.

Through some histological events in some books, it's recorded Lucifer then created demons born from his inner desires also called seven deadly sins. Namely pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth. To multiply and slowly destroy the earth, breaking the so called mortals connections from God and turning them to him, thereby increasing his powers.

Though fallen angels and demons inhabited hell, multiple damned souls who fell in Lucifer's trap also resided in hell. Earning it names like the whispering prison of flames. So they were mainly three occupants.

The fallen: beings who once knew greatness, but were cast down to the depths of hell.

The damned: soul's who through their actions (murder, rapist etc.) or choices(contract with the devil, dark gatherings, ritualism etc) have earned their places in this eternal torment.

The demonic: malevolent entities that revel in the suffering of others (wraiths, goblins, demons, etc.), often serving as the instruments of torture.

[Ding! Host hp has stopped depleting. Regenerating..]

[Ding! All stats and demon skills have returned to normal!]

[Ding! Demon energy has been replenished!]

[Ding! Excess demon energy has been detected in the air. Absorbing..]

[Ding! User has levelled up!]

[Ding! User has levelled..]

[Ding! Quest received: Welcome to hell!]

The system screen flashed in Kyle's head, as his eyes slowly fluttered open. Sitting up straight, he clutched his head which hurt in pain.

"Argh! Where am I?" Kyle groaned looking round, he could see he was in some kind of dark cell. The memories of what happened earlier assaulting his head, forcing him to hold it tight squirming a bit in pain.

[You're safe for now Kyle.] Snow's calming voice resounded in his head, giving him somewhat closure. Glancing through the system's notification, he was glad his hp had stopped depleting and was now full. As his stats and demon energy were no longer locked, and was now accessible.

'Woah! I levelled up twice?' Kyle stared confused, seeing the system state he'd levelled up twice while unconscious. Doubting he decided to check his stats, as it had now risen up two levels.

[Name: Kyle Connor]

[Level: 47]

'There's excess demon energy here also.' Kyle was surprised seeing the system message, stating there was an enormous amount of demon energy here, as he could also feel it. Surprisingly, the past few places he'd been contained high amounts of demon energy, like the cave. But this place was different, as the demon energy here was vivid and much more powerful, than anything he'd ever experienced.

'Snow what does the system mean by welcome to hell?' Kyle asked confused, seeing the system screen popped up with a quest titled, 'welcome to hell'. Hesitating a bit, snow didn't outright answer deliberating on something.

'Snow!' Kyle inwardly called, snapping her from her dilemma.

[Kyle.. I don't want you to freak out about what am going to say, but you're in hell.] She calmly said, trying her best to sound neutral yet panicking a bit. Hearing her words Kyle didn't utter a word, as he simply stared forward.

[Kyle? Kyle.. shit! I didn't mean to be the party pooper.] Snow sighed, thinking she'd crushed Kyle's spirit.

[Kyle you have to snap out of it and focus-]

'Finally.. we can be together again.' A wide lewd grin spread across his face, as he smiled mischievously. Snow was taken aback by his sudden change in reaction, as she expected him to be more freaking out than happy?

[D-did you just hear what I just said?] Snow asked, to confirm he clearly heard her.

'Of course.. I can finally reclaim what was stolen from me, and restore my dignity.' Kyle smiled, clenching his fist tightly.

When in vaanderwood everything was stolen from him with the blink of an eye, including his women. He'd vowed to grow stronger and reclaim his women, but he didn't know where they were except for Lilith, his demon wife.

'She must be here.' Just before she shoved him into the portal, she whispered some words revealing her location. And now that he was presented with such opportunity, he wouldn't dare afford to miss it.

[Kyle you aren't thinking things straight. You're just an f rank demon, nowhere near the quarter strength of Lucifer. You'll be killed before you could let out a breath.] Snow said not supporting Kyle's thought.

'Bullshit! Am stronger now, I can feel it. There's no way am going to miss this opportunity. I have to kill the bastard that stole everything away from me, or die trying.' Kyle vowed with resolve in his heart.

[Sigh.. Kyle, I understand your regrets and anger, but you have to understand. Going to war with Lucifer, the king of all demons in your current strength is literally suicide. You'll be crushed in a heart beat!]

[Yes I agree, you'll get revenge but not now. This is hell, his freaking domain! a whole different entire realm. He basically has the upper hand here, and not to mention the countless demons and unholy abominations residing here. Even if you insisted, you still aren't sure she's here or where he's hiding her. it's too much to your disadvantage Kyle.] Snow softly said, making sure her words sank into Kyle's heart. Listening to her he couldn't deny she was right, as it would be suicide to wage war on Lucifer here in hell.

'B-but I can't just leave her here with him.' Kyle frowned anger, guilt, frustration swirling in his heart.

[I know.. but Lilith wouldn't want you to pointlessly sacrifice your life for nothing. It would crush her mentally to learn of your stupid death, as all her efforts would be in vein. Grow stronger Kyle, and continue rising up the ranks. Lilith is a powerful demon, second best to Lucifer himself. She can take care of herself, while you have to uphold your end of the bargain and become a more terrifying monster, than the serpent himself!] Snow enthusiastically said, with hope and determination. Thinking about what she just said, Kyle didn't want to admit it but she was right. Even though he wanted to so much help his demon wife, he was useless to her like this.

He always wondered the reason why she protected him, sacrificing herself instead to danger. But now he knew she was preparing him for the task ahead.

'Am sorry Lilith.. I promise I'll get you out from here, even if it's the last thing I do.' Kyle vowed, tightly clenching his fist drawing out fresh blood. Looking ahead, he could clearly see the peering red eyes lurking in the shadows in front.

"What are those?" Kyle asked staring ahead.

[Am not for sure, but am guessing they're prisoners of Lucifer who failed to uphold their end of the deal.] Snow said to which Kyle nodded.

'Just how many prisoners has he made deals with?' Kyle thought, as he could hear the eerie whispers and screams of other prisoners. He could see they weren't aggressive or mindlessly attack him, when he was unconscious and now. But he was certain he could defeat them as most didn't even have aura's, the few having were not meant to be considered as such.

'How do I get out from here?' Kyle placed his hand to his chin. Surveying the iron bars, he could see they were like nothing back on earth, as these ones were made from a much more sophisticated material, pulsing with demon energy.

[Since it's made with demon energy, there's a high probability dark flames and death's call won't work on it.] Snow chipped in to which Kyle nodded, having the same thoughts.

'Maybe I should transform and try to rampage my way through?' It was a good idea, but he didn't know how strong this cage was, and if his plan would truly work. Thinking of what to do, Kyle could sense two presence calmly making their way towards him from behind. Turning, he could see two pale skinned man and woman definitely humans, but now corroded with demon energy.

He was about killing them but stopped, hearing their words.

"K-kyle.." they said in a coarse deranged voice void of life, stunning Kyle.

"H-how do they know my name?" Kyle wondered in shock, clearly hearing his name called by this two creatures.

"Wait.. w-why do they seem so familiar?" Kyle wondered. he couldn't quite put his finger on it, but it felt like he knew this two. Looking closer, his face grew pale as he stared at them.

"N-no it can't be.. mom, dad?" Kyle stuttered with wide eyes, staring at the people he once called his parents. Tears streamed down his eyes as he appeared in front, tightly hugging them.

"Ahh!" He screamed in pain, a mixture of different emotions overwhelming him, hugging his parents in a bittersweet reunion.
