Chapter 285: Talent Enhancement (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)
"It really is a legend from the ancient Cult, Tasa could smell the decay of the other's soul."
Rein looked up at the sound of the voice and saw a woman dressed in dark red Wizard Robe floating down from the back of a giant dragon.
The collar of her Wizard Robe was cut particularly wide, squeezing against a pair of pale and towering weapons, giving the impression they might burst forth at any moment.
In contrast, her waist was much finer.
The hem of the Wizard Robe was very long, trailing down to her heels, but the slit was very high, almost to the top of her thigh - it was unclear whether this was for ease of riding the giant dragon.
This bold yet somewhat modest style of dress made Rein unable to resist taking a closer look at her face.
She had a high nose bridge, and her pair of blue-purple eyes were incredibly deep and enchanting, seemed to pull one into the abyss with just one glance.
On either side of her light red hair, there was a subtle hairpin, with bunches of hair circling to the back, while the rest flowed naturally down her back.
Overall, apart from beauty, it was hard for Rein to gauge her age.
You could say she was in her twenties, or thirties, and forties wouldn't be impossible either.
At this moment, Viscount Philke, deputy commander of the Mingster Province Griffon Squadron, clad in light-golden armor, immediately stepped forward, bowed and said, "Prince Menia, Filk Finch, at your service."
"Oh, you... you're the youngest son of the Finch family; I remember I even held you when you were a child," Menia said with a flash of recognition upon examining Viscount Philke.
These words made Filk blush slightly as he responded, "Yes, Your Highness."
However, it was clear that Menia's interest was not focused on Filk, as she said:
"This member of the ancient Cult was slain by you, correct? Truly a hero despite his youth."
As Menia spoke, her face showed admiration, and at the same time, her piercing eyes focused on Rein.
"Your Highness, I greet you," Rein said, bowing slightly.
"Yes, Prince Menia, this is Lord Reine from the Sword Bearers Branch of Mingster, the one who killed the Cult legend," Cleya stepped forward and curtsied.
Menia glanced at Cleya and nodded her head, "Greetings, scion of the Habus family."
"Eh?" Still curiously examining Rein up and down, Menia suddenly exhibited surprise and said.
"Rein, you may not have realized it, but you have been cursed by this ancient Cult legend."
Hmm?
Cursed?
Rein was stunned when he heard this and immediately opened his attribute panel to check.
Indeed, the first line read: 'Rein Carlan (Evil Flame Mark)'
Because he had been focusing on the remaining attribute points at the bottom of the panel, he hadn't noticed it.
No wonder he felt something was amiss, even though he had just used the special Skill of the Beast Priest to heal his injuries.
However, the term used on the attribute panel was 'mark', not 'curse'.
Rein did not know whether this was just a difference in the system's wording.
"May I ask, sir, is there any way to remove this curse?" Rein asked, his face somewhat troubled.
"Removing curses is not my expertise. Generally, the Goddess Church can lift it for you."
However, after thinking it over, Menia spoke again, "Forget it, I will do it. I can lift a legend's curse."
"Great fire Elf..." With a soft chant, Menia waved her staff, adorned with a fiery red crystal.
With a point of her staff, a ring of red flames suddenly lit up around Rein.
But strangely enough,
the next second, the ring of fire abruptly shattered and disappeared into the air.
Hmm?
Menia's eyes widened in astonishment, her cherry lips parted slightly, looking in disbelief at her ineffective curse-lifting magic.
"How could this be?"
"How is this possible, could it be that..."
Menia quickly walked over to the side of the dead ancient hero Mong, her high-slitted Wizard Robe revealing a glimpse of alluring scenery as she moved.
As Menia squatted down to inspect the body, the exaggerated ratio of waist to hips was clearly displayed.
Soon, Menia furrowed her brows slightly, and turning to Rein, she said:
"Young man, it seems I cannot help you with your problem. What you have is not a curse but a mark, meaning it is actually from an Epic strong figure."
"What!" exclaimed Viscount Philke, his eyes almost popping out as he looked at Rein with a ghost-seeing expression!
"An Epic strong figure?" Cleya's mouth fell open, her eyes wide with shock!
"Heavens!" Olena, the Assistant to Affairs, followed behind, her hand over her mouth, her face in disbelief.
Menia's words sent shockwaves through the crowd, and the surrounding guards were mostly confused.
What does an Epic strong figure mean?
Clearly, it was also a blind spot for most of them.
Including Rein, they all looked perplexed.
"Didn't I just kill a legend?"
"How did it become an Epic strong figure?"
"Only an Epic strong figure can impose a mark, so the true strength of your adversary is undoubtedly Epic. It is likely that due to being sealed for too long, their strength had greatly deteriorated," she explained.
"Prince Menia, is there any way to remove the mark from me?" Rein inquired.
"Of course, you can go to Imperial City; many Imperial Guardians there can remove the curse from your body."
