Wizard Bloodline

Chapter 115: Chapter 115: [Unmatched Despair Freeze Sphere], Pinnacle Technique

The vast duel square was silent.

The Ring wizards present stared blankly at the scene before them—a massive silver bat gently flapping its wings in the sky, and beneath it, a young wizard quietly standing atop a giant ice sphere.

It had been some time since the silver bat Biondini spat a white light sphere towards the sixth Meditation Tower. The light sphere vanished without a trace, like a stone dropped into a black pond, causing no ripples.

Everyone was waiting.

They hadn't yet recovered from the shock and impact of the previous battle. The stirring emotions within, meant to be expressed through various actions, expressions, and voices, were now like the blazing fireball beneath the thick ice under the boy's feet, sealed and frozen tight, with no way to escape.

Everyone was enveloped by a strong and overwhelming sense of suffocation.

This suffocation came from the increasingly dense chill permeating the air, seeping out from the rune array of the duel stage. The boy's domain continued to expand, seemingly unstoppable.

Countless chills coalesced in the air into veins of deep blue and white, silently spreading in all directions with the boy at the center.

From the spectators' perspective, it seemed as if something was taking root and growing in this space... or like a giant eye, with the center being the boy quietly waiting and gazing towards the tower.

Within the ice sphere under his feet, the once palpable strong mental force and the restless power eager to break through now showed no signs of resistance, as if the red within had nearly disappeared.

The air on the stage grew colder and more oppressive.

Some began to retreat from the duel stage, uncomfortable expressions unconsciously appearing on their faces.

Aside from the ice element, other elemental energy particles were being continuously expelled from this space.

Even some second-level wizards were beginning to look uncomfortable.

Everyone sensed that the boy's "momentum" on the duel stage was continuously expanding, like a snowball growing larger, or an avalanche accumulating layers.

Without experiencing it firsthand, no one would believe that such power could be released by a first-level wizard!

The power of four overlapping ice domain forces had far surpassed their understanding, leaving no words to accurately express their complex feelings.

The frost domain continued to spread, and some began to pray for a quick response from the distant tower.

The atmosphere had grown so intense that even second-level wizards felt a shiver of fear, worrying that if this "momentum" didn't find release, they might be the ones to suffer.

Finally—

"Buzz—"

An unusual wave came from the direction of the distant tower.

Everyone looked up to see the tip of the sixth tower, which had "swallowed" the white light sphere, now bursting with intense white light.

A beam shot from the tower's top, heading straight towards the duel stage.

"The opponent has accepted your challenge."

Biondini's deep voice echoed from high above, addressing the boy below, "Prepare yourself."

The previously calm, lake-like chill abruptly surged, rapidly converging in one direction.

The oppressive sensation accumulated in the air began to ease, and many breathed a sigh of relief, instinctively looking towards the source of the beam.

They saw the white beam extend like a "bridge," spanning the distance, with a tall figure with long hair walking steadily toward them.

As the figure appeared, the white-haired boy on the duel stage, standing on the ice sphere, quietly brightened his eyes.

In that moment, the expansive duel square, all the cold, and the frost-veined patterns converged towards the boy.

He became the source of endless cold in the world!

"Lanny."

Ronan watched the approaching figure on the light bridge. As the figure's features became clearer in view, his brewing battle intent reached its peak.

"Quadruple Freeze!"

Ronan slowly raised his right hand, and the frozen ice sphere with Norno Pellin at his feet instantly lifted.

Then, countless icy chills transformed into deep blue torrents, converging towards the ice sphere.

The sphere began to spin, its already enormous size visibly expanding, transforming into an immense spinning ice ball nearly half the size of the duel stage.

Surrounded by innumerable ice and snow, intertwined with various transcendent domain forces, radiating mysterious and powerful energy.

Ronan soared into the air, the massive, terrifying spinning ice ball in his grip, floating ominously above the stage like a sun made of ice and snow!

"That's clearly against the rules."

Biondini's voice descended from above.

Ronan glanced up at it, then at the still-unmoved third-level wizard with closed eyes, a faint smile forming as he softly replied to Biondini.

"Screw the rules."

The expression on the silver bat Biondini's face froze.

Ronan turned his focus back to the tall figure approaching on the light bridge.

His eyes shone like stars, his entire being enveloped in an invisible force, his robe fluttering without wind.

"[Unmatched Despair Freeze Sphere]!"

"Whoosh—"

Gathering all the cold and battle intent accumulated during Ronan's "long" wait!

This was his pinnacle technique as an ice wizard!

The gigantic spinning Freeze Sphere, exuding terrifying energy, roared through the air, leaving a deep white streak as it shot directly at the approaching figure!

Ronan's robe billowed, Demon Twin Swords materialized beneath, the [Silverization] sigil gleaming, the despair domain still present.

He, like a twisted source of cold, followed the ice sphere's trajectory, breaking through the duel stage's rune array constraints, charging forward.

Selection, stage, rules... all were torn apart by Ronan at this moment.

He only wanted to fight!

He only wanted... the opponent, defeated!

The tense, oppressive atmosphere of the duel square shattered the moment Ronan broke through the stage, a wave of astonishment erupted.

Following Ronan's charge, many Ring wizards followed suit, turning the orderly selection into chaos.

The silver bat Biondini stared in shock at the flowing crowd below, mouth agape, its enormous wings flapping rapidly, at a loss.

Instinctively, it glanced at the third-level wizard pretending to nap, seeing the latter still indifferent, shook its head helplessly.

"Another troublesome one."

With that, it flapped its wings, quickly following the shifting battlefield.

Soon, the vast duel square was emptied, leaving a solitary figure in a corner.

Travis, pale-skinned, wearing black diamond earrings, enveloped in gloom and dejection, stared vacantly in the direction of the departing crowd, a voice murmuring dreamily.

"So, challenging the top ten can be done like this?"

This wasn't an ambush.

For as Ronan summoned the ice sphere, clearly indicating his intent to attack, the figure on the light bridge halted.

The wind carried the sound of the opponent's rapid chanting.

Ronan paid no heed, eyes bright, still pushing the ice sphere forward.

Soon, he sensed the rapid flow of energy particles in the air.

They were sinking rapidly, with a vast ocean of energy particles rising from below.

An innumerable mass of earth-element energy particles!

"Boom! Boom!"

Ronan saw the ground ahead begin to tremble, the earth cracking like a sealed bottle being uncorked, brown stone pillars erupting skyward.

The tall figure with flowing hair raised his right arm, manipulating the energy waves in the air to erupt like a volcano.

Under his control, the stone pillars coalesced into a massive vortex.

On the figure's right arm was a gleaming arm ring, from which countless sharp, crystalline points flew, merging into the swirling soil vortex.

As Ronan pushed the ice sphere forward, a massive brown earth shield, encrusted with shiny metal particles, took shape.

"Boom!"

The spinning ice sphere, exuding endless cold, collided with the brown earth shield, erupting into countless streams of deep blue and brown.

Some searing flames burst forth, a terrified scream echoed from the explosion's center, a figure stumbling away.

The terrifying energy shockwave stirred a massive gale, blasting dirt and ice shards against the flashing energy shields, halting the pursuing Ring wizards.

At the moment of spell collision, Ronan slipped into the fray, the dispelling flames on his Demon Twin Swords cutting through the chaotic energy streams, his mental focus locked onto a glowing mental form, eyes bright.

He swung his swords, his immense physical strength carving two long, dark twisted streaks in the air, slicing towards the figure.

"Bang!"

Ronan felt his strike hit something hard, dirt exploding before him.

Then more solid objects approached from all angles, Ronan's swords slashing them apart, but his progress was halted. Glancing up, he saw the glowing mental form had gained distance.

His eyes flickered, he sheathed his swords, standing still.

The dust and debris from the ice and earth collision finally settled.

Through the dispersing icy mist, his opponent's silhouette fully emerged before Ronan.

A burly young man, clad in a fine silver tunic, runes pulsing beneath, a silver arm ring on his right arm.

Gray eyes, long hair.

His rugged face bore a long scar, giving Ronan an impression of strength, robustness, ferocity!

Like a fierce tiger, limbs gripping the ground, slightly crouched, steady and dangerous.

They hovered in opposition, surrounded by shattered stones, as if in a desolate wasteland or ruins.

Few remnants of frost remained.

This was the earth wizard's advantage.

Other elemental spells dissipated quickly, but earth spells remained, like an army ready for redeployment.

"I admit I underestimated you."

Lanny's gray eyes narrowed, glancing at the pale, frightened Norno Pellin, then at Ronan, cold light in his narrow gaze.

He was mid-second-level strength, his natural mental fluctuations far surpassing Norno Pellin's peak.

Upon reaching second level, a wizard's mental power crystallized.

When it grew to the limit, a second crystallized mental core formed.

This was mid-second-level.

In raw mental strength, Lanny's surpassed Ronan's late-first-level by at least twenty times.

Standing before Ronan, his mental field swept away all non-earth element energy particles.

Ronan's four-domain despair field struggled to lift its head against Lanny's mental field.

The icy air quickly dispersed, unable to coalesce.

Of course.

Ronan's so-called four-domain overlay wasn't true four-domain.

Spells copied by the [Mirror Light] sigil differed from those he cast.

Like mirror reflections, regardless of resemblance, they remained false.

He achieved double anchoring, boosting the despair field's power, but it paled against true four-domain, twelve-anchor fields.

Ronan knew this.

So...

His confidence in challenging Lanny wasn't from the [Mirror Light]-enhanced ice domain.

"Trash, no matter how dressed, is just trash."

Lanny spoke softly, gazing at Ronan, mysterious energies swirling from within, quickly forming a heavy transcendent domain field.

"Very well, let me... end you myself."

Ronan's twin swords twirled, nodding at Lanny, replying:

"That's what I intend to say."
