“When Hunger Become A Power”

Chapter 35: Chapter 35; Informations

As the Dilhaze party strolled through the bustling streets of Asteria, they reached a fork in the road. Three paths stretched out before them, each leading to a different part of the grand city.

Raizo stopped. "I guess… we'll need to split up."

Fenra's ears drooped. "Do we have to?"

Raizo nodded. "Yeah. We need to gather information about this city—and we'll cover more ground if we're on our own."

Fenra stepped closer to him, hopeful. "Then… can I go with you instead?"

Before Raizo could answer, Silvia's eye twitched. She crossed her arms, watching silently.

But Raizo shook his head with a calm smile. "No. It's better if we split up evenly. We'll meet back here before sunset."

Silvia turned her head slightly and mumbled under her breath, "Tch. Sure you're right, mutt…"

Fenra's ears perked up. "At least I gave it a try. What about you, pointy ears?"

Silvia shot her a glare, but then sighed and turned away. "I'm going. See you later."

"Wait." Raizo stopped her and pulled a small pouch from his cloak. "Here—thirteen platinum coins. Use it for lunch… and maybe a new weapon if you see something good."

Silvia's eyes widened slightly. "Thirteen? For me? Uh… thank you, Raizo."

She looked over her shoulder at Fenra and smirked playfully.

Fenra stepped forward. "What about me, Raizo?"

Raizo smiled warmly. "Don't worry. I didn't forget. Here's thirteen for you too."

"Thanks!" Fenra beamed.

Raizo raised his fist. "Let's make this count."

They all smiled, bumping fists before going their separate ways.

In the afternoon they reunited near the meeting point. Fenra arrived first, flexing her arm as she admired her new pure-black claw gauntlets, glowing faintly with enchantments. Moments later, Silvia arrived with a new enchanted longbow strapped to her back.

"You both bought new weapons?" Raizo asked.

They nodded proudly.

Silvia grinned. "I'll go first. I found the Guild here in Asteria. The strongest party in the city is called Atomics."

Fenra tilted her head. "Atomics?"

"Yup," Silvia said. "They even started building a clan. Their leader's name is Julius, and he's supposedly a deadly assassin."

Raizo raised an eyebrow. "Interesting… Anything else?"

Silvia chuckled. "Well… some guys tried hitting on me."

"What?" Fenra asked, ears twitching.

"They asked if I wanted to get a drink. I told them 'Sorry, I'm already owned.'" Silvia glanced at Raizo with a faint blush.

"Owned?" Raizo echoed, confused.

"They didn't take no for an answer. So… I kicked them in the balls," she said flatly.

Raizo sighed and rubbed his forehead. "Silvia… come on. We don't even know if those guys were from Atomics. We shouldn't make enemies."

"Yeah, yeah… sorry."

"It's fine," Raizo said, smiling gently. "Just be careful."

He turned to Fenra. "What about you?"

Fenra nodded. "I found a poor area of the city. Starving families. Some adventurers were handing out food and recruiting for parties."

Raizo crossed his arms, thoughtful. "Maybe that's where we'll find our next member."

Silvia and Fenra blinked in surprise.

"You're… thinking of adding someone?" Silvia asked.

Raizo nodded. "We have four Royal Badges. Might as well use one."

Neither girl objected, though both remained silent—sharing a look of quiet tension.

Later that evening, the three entered the lively Stellar Inn. The place buzzed with energy—cheering adventurers, arm wrestling, and someone singing "Happy Birthday" with a mug of ale in hand.

They sat at a corner table.

A waiter approached. "What can I get you three?"

Raizo replied calmly, "Just water for now."

"Same," Fenra and Silvia echoed.

Silvia leaned in. "Okay, so I told you what I found. But before we continue… Raizo, where are we staying?"

Raizo smirked. "Good question. I already booked us rooms here. But—there's a catch."

Fenra tilted her head. "What kind of catch?"

Raizo scratched his cheek. "Only two rooms were available. So… Fenra and Silvia, you'll share."

The two shot up from their seats instantly.

"I want to sleep in your room!" they shouted in unison.

Silence fell.

They both gasped, realizing what they had said—faces glowing bright red.

Raizo blinked, then chuckled softly. So that's how it is. He stood. "Alright. You both can sleep in my room then."

He returned to the counter and canceled one room.

They entered the room together. It was cozy, with a large bed and soft candlelight.

They lay down… and slowly, as the silence wrapped around them, both girls snuggled close to Raizo, each holding onto an arm.

Raizo lay there, blushing, barely able to move.

> In my past life… I never experienced anything like this,

To wake up between two girls…

So this… is what it feels like.

As the candle flickered low, Fenra and Silvia gently drifted off to sleep, their breaths calm and warm beside him.

And Raizo smiled softly.
