What Holy Grail War? Let's Play Cards! (Fate/Yugioh)

Chapter 189: Chapter 189: What's This Called? Giving Another Person's Flowers to Buddha (Leaning Back)

"If possible, I'd prefer you just tell me straight rather than resorting to these methods," Arash said, rubbing his head. Lancelot's Mad Enhancement had left him with no concept of restraint; if a weaker servant had taken that blow, their head would have been sent flying.

"Still, it's a bit of a shame. That was my chance to redeem my reputation. Let me use my Noble Phantasm to clear the path for you during the final battle."

"Why is everyone so obsessed with self-destruction? Isn't staying alive better?" Medea grumbled, her healing spell interrupted by Arash's sudden movement. She shot him an impatient glare.

Jiang You quickly pressed Arash back down, thinking, Once we reach Chaldea, you'll have plenty of time to blow yourself up.

"Miss Medea, thank you for your hard work," Mash said as she and Gudako entered the tent. "Leave the rest to us, Senpai. You both deserve some rest. Dinner's ready and waiting—just for you. Don't worry about us; we ate while preparing it."

Gudako's Chaldea uniform was equipped with healing magic capabilities. She took over Arash's care, allowing them to alternate duties and help him recover quickly.

Jiang You didn't refuse Mash's offer. He needed more opportunities to strengthen his bonds with the servants.

After discovering he could transport items between scripts, Jiang You returned to the timeline of the Fifth Holy Grail War and tasked Hundred Faces with procuring supplies. Now, the tents and food in East Village were all modern provisions he'd brought from that era. By saving everyone and providing supplies, Jiang You had earned the goodwill of everyone present, acquiring the true name cards of nearly every servant present. This was far faster than trying to collect them through combat.

The other cards didn't matter much. There simply weren't enough relevant cards to synergize with them, and collecting a complete set in time was impossible. Jiang You focused primarily on Bedivere, confident he could acquire the majority of his Knights of the Round Table deck during this sixth chapter. He also coveted the Cursed Arm Hassan cards that had appeared so far, aiming to acquire three copies of each if possible.

"Mr. Jiang You, we've been waiting for you," Tawara Tōta said, greeting him first. "We're grateful for your assistance and for looking after Arash. You must be exhausted." He offered Jiang You a pre-prepared cup of sake.

"Come, let me propose a toast!"

After taking a drink, Tawara Tōta remarked, "To be honest, I always thought I'd be the strongest when it came to logistics."

He wasn't boasting. With his EX-ranked Noble Phantasm, the Endless Rice Sack, he could produce an endless supply of delicious rice at virtually no cost. Among the Heroic Spirits they knew, he was arguably the strongest in terms of supply capabilities.

"Even I'm slightly inferior to you," Tawara Tōta admitted. "Your two Noble Phantasms are truly unfair. Being able to provide any resource imaginable is terrifying."

Jiang You's ability to traverse multiple Scripts was conveniently misinterpreted as the effect of his second Noble Phantasm, a misconception he gladly embraced to avoid unnecessary explanations. Like Soul Crystals, most inanimate objects could be stored in his Item Slot without limit. However, living creatures, including Servants, required magical power drawn directly from Jiang You. This design likely incentivized players to actively pursue obtaining three full sets of Cards.

The banquet didn't last long. The Mountain Folk couldn't maintain their festive mood after their homeland had been destroyed. After accepting their heartfelt gratitude and chatting briefly with the Heroic Spirits, Jiang You retreated to his tent to rest.

As Jiang You prepared to log out, he noticed Bedivere slipping away unnoticed, hiding halfway up the mountainside.

Jiang You knew this was his chance to improve their relationship.

"You must be exhausted," Jiang You remarked, approaching Bedivere. "That long journey must have been painful for you."

After Bedivere had finished venting his emotions through tears, Jiang You, who had been waiting patiently behind him, finally spoke.

"I'm embarrassed you had to see my vulnerable side."

Bedivere wiped the tears from his face. He still needed to maintain the dignity of a Knight of the Round Table in public, but he didn't pretend nothing had happened.

"I was just reminded of some painful memories..."

"There's no need to put on a facade with me. If I'm not mistaken, that silver arm of yours is actually your King Artoria's Contracted Sword of Victory, isn't it?"

Jiang You bluntly forced the plot forward, despite having no genuine insight. He was simply reciting the script.

"Can you tell?" Bedivere exclaimed in surprise, then quickly composed himself. In his heart, Jiang You was an immensely powerful Caster, a legendary figure from history who had, for some unknown reason, chosen to conceal his abilities. "No wonder the King of Magecraft was so astonished by your arrival. Your mastery of spells likely far surpasses even Master Merlin's."

Jiang You knew next to nothing about magic, but he brazenly accepted the pretense. He pressed further, "Besides, you're not a Heroic Spirit, are you? To have journeyed this far as a mere human, constantly battling powerful servants—that must have been terrifying, wasn't it?"

Bedivere's fingers trembled slightly. He forced a bitter smile. "You've seen through me. But this is my duty, my penance. My selfish desire to keep the Holy Sword prevented My King from entering Avalon. This punishment is what I deserve."

"To uphold a promise and stand watch alone for fifteen hundred years—was that truly just for selfish reasons?" Jiang You acknowledged Bedivere's sacrifice before steering the conversation toward the Lion King. "But I have no right to forgive you in place of your King Artoria. You must complete your unfinished journey and stand before her. As for her judgment, you should hear it directly from her own lips."

"Until then, rely on us. I promise to bring you safely to the Lion King."

In the original story, Bedivere was destined to reach the Lion King. But Jiang You's intervention at this point changed everything.

"Thank you!"

With Jiang You's promise, Bedivere felt a considerable weight lift from his shoulders. As a mere human facing such formidable enemies, it was impossible not to be afraid. But now that someone understood his plight and offered assistance, Bedivere could cast aside his other concerns. "Whether My King forgives me or condemns me to death, I will fulfill my duty and return the Holy Sword to her."

"Don't worry so much," Jiang You said with a reassuring smile, pointing to himself. "Have you forgotten my abilities? With me here, you have nothing to fear."

"!"

Bedivere understood immediately. Jiang You was a powerful Caster capable of seeing the future, and his current demeanor spoke volumes about how this situation would ultimately resolve.

"Thank you, Mr. Jiang You!"

Jiang You successfully obtained Bedivere's Card.
