What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

The two Leviathans have been fighting for almost an entire day by now…

Seems like the Pirate Lord was serious when he said that this might take a few days…

I guess he still made everyone wait here so that we wouldn't miss out on any opportunity to deal with the Leviathan should any present itself.

Speaking of which, I don't see the Exo-Knight that was supposed to be designed to kill the Leviathan anywhere amongst the pirate fleet, so I suspect it should be stored on board one of the ships at the moment.

I was still wondering how it would work though, considering the Leviathan would disable any propulsion in a certain radius around it so how was the Exo-Knight supposed to kill it with that lance weapon?

Maybe if the fish Leviathan was defeated first, then the effect will be nullified? But that's assuming that the snake Leviathan would be the winner of course…

At least it wasn't us piloting the Exo-Knight so it won't be our problem.

Worst case scenario we could just make a run for the Warp Gate and let the other pirates be our meat shields to distract whichever Leviathan was left standing at the end.

"How long more is this going to take?" I groaned, leaning back in my chair.

Amber nuzzled my cheek as she cuddled closer to me while seated on my lap, "Mmm… If only I could go and fight them… I could have settled this in a few hours at most~"

It was just the two of us right now since I saw no reason for everyone to be here as nothing was happening at the moment so the others were off doing their own things.

"You know I'm not going to let you do that."

"Ehehehe~ You're really protective, Tera."

"Of course, you're mine. I'm not going to put you in unnecessary danger if I can help it."

"You do know that there's very few things that can actually hurt a Psionic, right?"

I pulled back and gave her a pointed look, "Remind me again who was the one that almost died when we went to storm a pirate base?"

"Ok, that didn't count. I was intentionally not using any of my powers and even if I was alone, I would have survived, including the part where things were being blown out into space."

"Yeah, I'm never letting that happen to you again so you'll have to deal with me being protective of you from now on."

She looked into my eyes with a rather intense gaze before her lips curled up into a smile, "I really love you, Tera."

My response was to pinch her chin to tilt her head back before giving her a kiss, my lover receiving it without complaint.

I was just about to push my tongue into her mouth when my Codex starting making noises to inform me of an incoming call.

I grumbled a little and broke the kiss with Amber to check who it was, my brows furrowing when I realized it was none other than the Pirate Lord again.

I tapped on my Codex to answer the call and a screen popped up to show the Pirate Lord waving at me.

"Hey~ I'm bored. Let's chat!"

"Don't you have friends in your crew or something? Can't you chat with them?"

"Pfft, you think someone like me can afford to be friends with my crew? Have you even seen what I do to people that cross me?"

"I'm more surprised that you haven't faced any mutiny attempts after subjecting your crew to such tyranny. How are they even fine with you cutting and crushing their limbs for speaking out of turn?"

"Do you think I run a daycare or something? These are pirates that would literally kill you to take your last Credit. Show any signs of weakness and they will jump on you the moment they see it. And just so you know, I have faced mutiny attempts and crushed them all without mercy each time. It's because of my tyranny that I'm still here."

"How did you even get these people to follow you anyway? I doubt pirates would be that willing to follow an ex-military."

"Ha! You think a pirate would care who they are following as long as they are able to plunder and Rob while having the benefit of someone protecting them? They don't. And I'm not even the worst Pirate Lord out there either. If you knew how other Pirates Lords treat their crew, my crew would look like a paradise. Besides… There's a good percentage of the people on my crew who are ex-military as well, most of them having faced the same situation as I did."

I raised an eyebrow at him, "You're telling me that the military are still fucking over their soldiers and pushing them into piracy?"

"Is it that surprising? The military is spread so wide, you think they have the capacity to make sure that every idiot is not fucking their subordinates both in the literal and metaphorical sense? There will always be that one idiot screwing some other idiot over."

Amber finally couldn't take it anymore and popped herself into the frame, "Since when did the both of you become such good friends?"

I scoffed, "Friends? More like this guy is just bothering me because he refuses to step out of that Power Armour and he has no friends to talk to."

The Pirate Lord clucked his tongue, "Tch… What? You have a problem with that?"

Amber grinned, "Of course I do, you're interrupting our lovey dovey time~"

The Pirate Lord paused for a moment, "You're sleeping with one of your crew?"

"Why? Is that weird?"

"No… I'm just surprised, that's all. There's some people who believe it's bad luck to do that and there have been cases of crew fallouts because of that. Are you sure no one in your crew resents your relationship with each other?"

Amber gave the Pirate Lord a peace sign, "All of us are part of Tera's harem~ So of course no one resents each other!"

"Oh…" Was the only reply from the Pirate Lord.

I was just about to ask him how long more he thinks we would be stuck waiting when a call notification came from the Pirate Lord's side.

He could have ended the call with us to answer his own call privately but for some reason he decided to add the caller to our current call instead.

An additional screen appeared, revealing the caller to be the Pirate Lord's right hand man looking a little concerned.

"Matsumoto. What is it?"

The bearded man took a moment to look at us but did not question our presence and merely bowed to his boss, "My lord… Some of the men are getting restless."

"What do they want? Do they want to go and attack the Leviathans right now?"

"They believe that it might speed up the battle between the two Leviathans, my lord."

"Put all those idiots who think that way in the assault team and then send them to attack."

Oh damn… Even I knew that this was pretty much sending them to their deaths…

"If they refuse, my lord?"

"Do I even need to say it, Matsumoto? Anyone who disagrees, lop off their heads and toss their corpses into the assault team anyway."

"Understood, my lord."

The Matsumoto guy ended his call and I raised my eyebrow at the Pirate Lord, "You sure you're not setting yourself up for a mutiny at this point?"

"If they choose not to go, they can always just turn their ships around and leave. I am not holding them here against their will but if they want to lay a claim on the Pirate Hoard, they obey or die."

Sheesh… Good thing I never thought about becoming a pirate…

"So what do you--"

My words were interrupted when Amber suddenly grabbed me by the arm, drawing my attention away from the call.

Turning to her, I realized she was pointing towards the front of the ship where the screen showing the battle between the two Leviathans was projected.

When I turned to look, I realised that the snake Leviathan had managed to bite down on the side of the fish Leviathan and it was currently in the process of wrapping its body around the fish Leviathan.

In other words… The snake Leviathan had won.

The Pirate Lord must have also had some way to see what was happening because Matsumoto's face suddenly appeared again.

"My lo--"

"Matsumoto!!! One of them is down!! Get everyone into attack formation right now!!"

"What about the dissenters, my lord?"

"Forget about them for now! Deal with the Leviathans first!! Everyone to attack formation!!"

"At once, my lord."

The Pirate Lord turned to me as well, "Well? What are you waiting for! Let's go and kill ourselves a Leviathan!!"

Right… I suppose I should call everyone to battle stations…
