Chapter 120: Chapter 120;THE LIES THAT BIND
Chapter 120
The principal spoke to the police officer on the phone, her words laced with a sense of urgency. "Yes, officer. One of our students has been kidnapped. We have footage of the incident, and it appears that she was injected with something by one of the perpetrators. We need your help to find her and bring her back safely."
As she listened to the officer's response, her expression grew increasingly tense, her brow furrowed in concern. "I understand that you're sending someone over, but time is of the essence. Every minute counts in a situation like this. We can't afford to waste any more time."
The principal nodded, even though the officer couldn't see her, her voice firm and resolute. "Yes, I'll make sure the footage is ready. I'll send it to you as soon as possible. Please let me know what else I can do to assist in finding her."
As she ended the call, the principal turned to the security guards, her gaze piercing. "You two will accompany me to the police station to provide a statement. We'll also need to review the footage again to see if we can identify the perpetrators."
Racy's voice trembled as she spoke up, her eyes wide with worry. "What about my friend? What about finding her?"
The principal's expression softened slightly, her voice gentle but firm. "Don't worry, The police will do everything in their power to find her and bring her back safely. We'll work together to ensure that she's found as soon as possible."
The principal's words offered a glimmer of hope, but Racy's anxiety remained palpable, her concern for her friend's safety etched on her face. The search for Sarah had just begun, and every minute counted.

**Sarah's pov**
As I slowly regained consciousness, I realized I was tied to a chair, my wrists and ankles bound by cold, unforgiving restraints. My vision was hazy, but it began to clear, like a veil lifting from my eyes. I blinked, trying to take in my surroundings, and that's when I saw her - the woman sitting in front of me.
I sat rigidly upright, my eyes wide with terror as I took in the woman's unmistakable features. It was Hyun Min's mother, her face a masterclass in elegance and poise, but her eyes...her eyes seemed to hold a sinister undertone. I thrashed against the restraints, but they only seemed to constrict, mocking my desperate attempts at liberation.
"Did you slumber peacefully, dear?" she inquired, her voice oozing with sarcasm, her tone venomous. I remained silent, my mind racing with questions and fears. Why was she orchestrating this charade? What did she hope to gain from me?
Her question hung in the air, unanswered, as she continued, "I warned you to sever ties with my son, but you apparently thought I was jesting. I've made it clear that my influence extends far and wide." Her words sent a chill coursing down my spine, and I felt a wave of panic wash over me. How did she possess such knowledge?
"But I lov—" I began to protest, but her slap silenced me, the words tumbling back into my mouth like a physical blow. The sting of her hand on my cheek paled in comparison to the sting of her words. "Or are you enamored with his physical appearance?" she sneered, her voice dripping with disdain.
I remained mute, my gaze averted, unable to meet her piercing stare. What could I say in my defense? That my affection for Hyun Min transcended his physical attributes? But would she credit my words? Would she care? A sense of despair washed over me, trapped in this desperate situation, with no clear escape route in sight.
She began to speak, her words oozing with condescension. "It's remarkably naive of you to trust people so readily, isn't it?" I gazed at her, confusion etched on my face. "What are you insinuating?" I asked, my voice barely audible. She leaned forward, a sly smile spreading across her face like a fissure. "Well, somebody...somebody who's been intimately close to you. That friend of yours, you know, the one I strategically placed to monitor you."
My eyes widened in shock as I realized who she was referring to - Racy. "She's been funneling information to me, keeping tabs on your every move," she continued, her voice dripping with malice. "You see, she's the daughter of an old acquaintance of mine. We attended school together abroad, and she's proven to be...instrumental. I've been keeping a close eye on you through her."
I felt like I'd been struck, my mind reeling with the revelation. Racy, my friend, my confidante...it couldn't be. But the woman's words were laced with conviction, and I knew I had to confront the truth.
The woman's expression turned glacial, her eyes glinting with calculation. "I heard about Na yeon, too bad. I won't be wasting any tears on her, though. She was involved with another guy, after all." Her words were like a slap in the face, and I felt a wave of indignation wash over me.
But then she dropped another bombshell. "That friend of yours, Racy...I've made up my mind. She'll be the perfect match for my son." I was stunned, my mouth agape in shock. The woman's words were like a jolt of electricity, and I couldn't process them fast enough. Everything was spiraling, and I felt like I was trapped in a never-ending nightmare.
Everything was now crystal clear – no wonder Racy had been pressuring me to befriend her, no wonder she'd been tailing me everywhere, eager to cultivate our friendship. The revelation hit me like a ton of bricks, and I felt like I'd been living a lie.
"So, Racy was just a pretender," I thought to myself, "a master manipulator using me for her own purposes." I couldn't believe I'd been so blind, so trusting. The memories of our interactions replayed in my mind, and I realized I'd been played from the very beginning.
Racy's friendly demeanor, her concern for me – it was all just a ruse, a clever act designed to gain my trust. And I'd fallen for it hook, line, and sinker. The thought sent a shiver down my spine, and I felt a wave of betrayal wash over me. How could someone I'd considered a friend do this to me? The pain and anger simmered beneath the surface, waiting to erupt.
