WHAT A TWIST!

Chapter 109: Chapter 109;A STAND TO BE TAKEN

Chapter 109

I stood my ground, my voice firm and unwavering. "Ma'am, with all due respect, your threats hold no weight with me," I said, my words hanging in the air like a challenge. "You can't intimidate me into submission."

Her face darkened with anger, her eyes blazing with fury. "You're nothing but a reckless, insolent child," she spat, her voice venomous. "You're not worthy of my son's attention. Your audacity is appalling."

I felt my own anger surge to the surface, fueled by her condescending tone. "At least I'm not a manipulative, controlling parent who's suffocating their child's dreams," I shot back, my voice rising. "You're so consumed by your own desires that you're willing to sacrifice your son's happiness. That's not love; that's obsession."

Her eyes flashed with rage, her face twisted in a snarl. "How dare you question my love for my son?" she hissed, her voice trembling with fury. "You're just a stranger, a nobody who thinks they can lecture me on parenting."

But I was beyond caring. "I'm not lecturing you, I'm telling you the truth," I said, my voice firm and unyielding. "You're forcing a relationship on your son that he doesn't want. You're disregarding his feelings, his needs, and his desires. That's not motherly love; that's selfishness."

The car seemed to vibrate with tension as her face turned red with rage. I could see the anger simmering beneath her surface, waiting to erupt.

Hyun Min's mother's laughter was a cold, calculated slap in the face, devoid of warmth or humanity. "Who do you think you are, you insolent little wretch?" she sneered, her voice dripping with contempt. "You're nothing but a fleeting moment of weakness, a momentary lapse in judgment that my son will soon regret."

I stood tall, my voice unwavering and laced with conviction. "I doubt you birthed him, considering the vast chasm between your character and his," I said, my words cutting deep. "You're a master manipulator, a toxic force who's poisoned your own face with your malevolence, rendering it as ugly as your soul."

The car fell silent, the tension between us suffocating. Hyun Min's mother's face turned a deep shade of crimson, her eyes bulging with unbridled fury.

Her voice a venomous whisper. "You dare to defile me with your vile tongue?" she hissed, her words dripping with malice. "You're a nobody, a mere insect beneath my notice. Yet, you think you can lecture me, insult me, and still expect to walk out of here unscathed?"

I shook my head, a small, enigmatic smile playing on my lips. "In case you don't really know, I'm deeply in love with your son, and I'm grateful he was born," I said, my voice filled with conviction and sincerity. "I bet you didn't know that there was a time your son was battling crippling depression, but all thanks to my unwavering support and love, he's now thriving."

Her expression turned mocking, her head shaking in amusement, but I could see the faintest glimmer of desperation in her eyes. "10 million," she said, her voice dripping with condescension and superiority. "I'll give you 10 million to walk away from him and never look back."

I looked at her, a hint of amusement dancing in my eyes. "Ma'am, you really need to reevaluate your priorities. I'm not some charity case who needs your handouts. My family's wealth and influence far surpass yours, and I wouldn't trade my life for all the riches in the world."

Her eyes narrowed, her voice rising in a mixture of anger and desperation. "50 million!" she called out, her words laced with a growing sense of urgency. "I'll give you 50 million, just leave him alone!"

I chuckled, a soft, dismissive sound that seemed to infuriate her further. "I have more important things to attend to, ma'am. I have exams to write, and I won't let your petty games distract me from my goals."

Her face twisted in anger, her voice escalating to a near-shout. "150 million!" she bellowed, her eyes blazing with fury. "I'll give you 150 million, just get out of his life!"

I raised an eyebrow, my expression unimpressed and unyielding. "Enough of this charade, ma'am. Your money means nothing to me. I'm not some mercenary who can be bought off with a price tag. Your son's happiness is what matters, and I'll fight for that, no matter the cost."

Her face darkened, her eyes flashing with a malevolent fury. "You will regret this," she spat, her voice venomous and menacing. "You will regret underestimating me and my influence. I'll make sure you pay for your insolence."

Madam Ji Hyeon sat seething in the car, her teeth clenched in a mixture of fury and frustration as she glared at the retreating figure of sarah who had just left. "Uncover every detail about her background," she instructed her driver, her voice low and menacing, like a whispered threat. "She exudes an aura of unbridled confidence, and I demand to know the source of her conviction."

The driver nodded silently, accustomed to Madam Ji Hyeon's imperious tone, As he discreetly maneuvered the car into traffic

As I stepped out of the car, the bright sunlight seemed to mock the darkness that had gathered in Hyun Min's mother's eyes. I walked away, my feet carrying me further and further from the toxic atmosphere that had developed inside the vehicle.

I didn't look back, didn't give her the satisfaction of seeing me react to her anger. Instead, I kept my eyes fixed on the path ahead, my heart still racing from the confrontation. The warmth of the sun on my skin was a welcome respite from the chill that had settled in my bones during our exchange.

I walked towards Racy, her eyes fixed intently on mine, radiating an unspoken question. "Who was it?" she asked, her voice laced with an insatiable curiosity that seemed to seep into every pore of her being.

I smiled, a gentle, enigmatic smile that hinted at secrets untold. "I will reveal all later," I said, my tone a delicate balance of intrigue and dismissal. "For now, let's channel our energies into preparing for our exams. Time is of the essence, and we can't afford to be distracted."

Racy's eyes sparkled with a mixture of fascination and anticipation, but she refrained from probing further. Instead, she nodded in acquiescence, her voice tinged with a hint of understanding. "You're right, let's prioritize our exams. We can debrief later, over coffee or something."

As Racy and I walked towards the school, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation, the air thick with the weight of impending exams. Students scurried about, some frantically flipping through their notes, while others engaged in hushed conversations, attempting to calm their frazzled nerves. We needed to change into our uniforms and proceed to the hall, where our knowledge and endurance would be put to the test.

The hall loomed before us, a daunting space where our academic prowess would be scrutinized. Racy and I navigated through the crowded corridors, our eyes fixed on our lockers as we retrieved our uniforms. That's when Na yeon materialized in front of me, her arms crossed and a desperate plea etched on her face.

"Please, just leave him alone," she implored, her voice trembling with urgency. "I've been vying for his attention for what feels like an eternity, but you swooped in and captured it without even trying. Can't you just relinquish your claim and let him be?"

I raised an eyebrow, taken aback by her sudden outburst. Was she orchestrating a scene? I regarded her calmly, refusing to let her words pierce my composure. "I'm not sure what you're insinuating," I said, my voice measured. "But perhaps you should focus on the exams."

Na yeon took a step closer, her eyes blazing with a fierce intensity. "You have no idea what you're meddling with," she spat, her voice rising in indignation. "You've ruined everything. Just leave him alone, for the love of all that's sane."

Racy intervened, her eyes narrowing into slits. "Na yeon, calm down. This isn't the time or place for this discussion. Let's not make a scene, okay?"

Na yeon suddely went on her knees, her eyes brimming with tears, she reached out and grasped my hand, her grip tight with desperation. "Please, I beg of you," she whispered, her voice cracking with emotion. "I can't imagine myself with anyone else. Please leave him for me. Please."

I looked down at her, feeling a mix of surprise and discomfort at her sudden display of emotion. I gently tried to extricate my hand from her grasp, but she held on tight.

"I'm sorry, Na yeon," I said softly, trying to convey empathy without leading her on. "But I have to be honest with you. I've fallen for him too, and I couldn't possibly step aside."
